Vanessa was lying on the bed in her room, with the blue and white puppet control gloves placed on the table next to her. A blue and white kitten was leaning quietly on the edge of the bed, enjoying Vanessa's touch.
Vanessa was playing with the black lace bow in her hand while touching Bombinata. The burns on her body were almost healed. In fact, Vanessa just wanted to take a break because she hadn't rested for a long time.
"Hmm~~Hmm~~Hmm~~Hmm~~"
As a cheerful tune played, Vanessa's door opened and a man of decent height and good looks walked in carrying a box of cakes.
"Good afternoon! Miss Vanessa, how are you feeling? And Bombinata, good afternoon."
Bombinatha: “Hmm… hum”
I stepped into the room, looked at the clean room, then picked up a stool and sat down next to Vanessa's bed, rocking the cake leisurely.
Vanessa glanced at me with disdain and said in a very provocative tone: "Hey, this is the first time I see you dressed like a decent person."
"You mean these jackets and trousers? Liv told me to wear them because I'm on vacation and can't wear those command uniforms these days. And the clothes the higher-ups gave me for the meeting are really too tight. The waist is tied, it looks like it's for a woman. I don't know what they were thinking."
I put the cake aside and chatted with Vanessa, and from time to time I noticed that there seemed to be something missing on Vanessa's delicate face.
Vanessa noticed my gaze and said in dissatisfaction, "Why are you staring at my face? Is there something on my face?"
In fact, I stopped pretending and stared at Vanessa's face seriously. Vanessa's tough appearance was gradually broken by my eyes, and her face actually turned red.
"You look pretty good now that the scar on your face is gone, though not as good as Liv's."
"Huh? Do you have to put someone down after praising them?"
I couldn't help but laugh. "Haha! Just kidding, just kidding. I was just shocked by your appearance at the time. Your right hand was tied up and the skin on the right side of your face was completely burned. I didn't expect you could still endure that kind of pain."
As I was saying this, I thought of five days ago, when Vanessa knelt on the ground after a fight, her whole body smoking and charred like a piece of coal. A normal person would probably vomit after seeing that.

Vanessa rested her chin on her right hand, her tone slightly arrogant.
"How could that be? It's just that after this incident, I have a new respect for you. You're really amazing."
I looked at Vanessa with a serious look as she said this with satisfaction. It seemed like words of admiration, but also contained a hint of concern.
Vanessa leaned her back against the white wall behind her and looked up at the ceiling. "There's no other way. This is what we should do. Our loyalty isn't to the Sky Garden. We've only wanted to protect our families from the beginning."
Listening to Vanessa's words, I couldn't help but take over the conversation: "But endless disasters continue to destroy the homes we live in. If we don't completely eradicate the root causes of the danger, the people we love will not be safe."
After I finished speaking, we looked into each other's eyes, as if we could see through each other's thoughts, because we were both commanders who were willing to risk our lives.
"Hahahaha! You've become so frivolous. How disgusting."
Vanessa raised her arms, covered her mouth and laughed loudly, her mood becoming very happy.
"I'm a pervert, not a fool. Why can't I say these things?"
I immediately retorted, but not sincerely, that Vanessa and I had only just reached a truly harmonious level of relationship.
“Hahaha! —————That’s right, haha! —”
Joyful laughter filled the entire room for a moment. This was probably the first time Vanessa had smiled that happily since the first time she saw her at the academy.
"Ah! Ahem! I can't take it anymore. I'm almost out of breath from laughing."
I enjoyed this happy moment, then casually opened the cake box. Inside was a round chocolate cake baked by Liv, which had been evenly cut into eight pieces and covered with some white cream.
I picked up a piece of cake with my right hand, pinched the two sides of the triangular cake, and handed it to Vanessa who was holding her stomach to hold back her laughter.
Vanessa stopped laughing when she saw the cake in front of her: "Ahem! I didn't eat anything for lunch anyway, so I might as well eat something!"
Vanessa reached out to take the cake but I held it tightly and she couldn't lift it.
Vanessa noticed my look and seemed to have guessed something. Her tone became a little arrogant again: "Oh hey! Are you treating me like a kitten and want to feed me?"
I said bluntly, "Because in my eyes, every cute girl is a kitten, and you should be considered a relatively evil kitten."
"You are such a disgusting person."
When Vanessa heard what I said, there was a hint of disgust in her eyes, but after a while, her expression softened.
"Okay, just this once, ah~~"
As she spoke, Vanessa opened her rosy lips and slowly closed her eyes.
"Hmm! Baji, Baji——"
With the sound of chewing, Vanessa quickly ate the whole piece of cake into her stomach.
"Hmm - not bad, very rich chocolate flavor."
After saying this, Vanessa licked her lips savoringly, then opened her mouth again.
I then fed Vanessa two more pieces of cake. Although she said she was unhappy, she actually enjoyed the feeling of being able to eat without doing anything.
