Chapter 20 The Forgotten

I felt a sharp pain in my head, as if it was being squeezed.

As soon as I opened my eyes, Karenina was holding my head like a facehugger. I wanted to remove her hands, but I couldn't move at all.

I rested my head on Karenina's abdomen and grabbed Karenina's face with my hands.

Karenina gradually woke up: "Ah~Ah, who is pulling my face?"

I said angrily, "Get off me quickly, look at the way you sleep."

Karenina quickly let go of me and got off the bed. I pushed Livlucia next to me awake. I looked at Karenina standing by the bed and said, "You stepped on it."

Karenina jumped to the side again and slowly stood up from the bed.

I got dressed and washed up quickly when Lucia chased me out: "Commander, I learned some dishes from Miss Jamila last night. Would you like to come and try them?"

I was immediately confused: "Huh?"

One dares to teach and the other dares to learn.

I turned around and saw a lot of people outside the car. I immediately pointed outside and said, "Ah! It's so lively outside! I don't even want to eat breakfast. You guys should go out and take a look!"

After saying that, I quickly opened the car door. Lucia looked frustrated.

I jumped out of the car and saw that those people still had guns in their hands, were wearing light combat armor suits, and even had some constructs.

I wondered if all the equipment on this wanderer was that good, but then a fragrant aroma wafted over, and I looked over and saw it was roasted sweet potatoes, which I also like in Kowloon. They are cheap and affordable.

There were quite a few residents on the train nearby. They probably had eaten too much high-tech food and wanted to try something new. There were also quite a few people selling local specialties nearby, so I rushed over to buy some to try.

I took out my black card and asked the young man, "How much is a black card?"

The man was stunned when he heard what I said, then asked, "Are you from the Hanging Garden?"

I immediately felt the atmosphere was off when I heard him say that, and then the man yelled, "The bastards from the Sky Garden are coming down."

After saying that, he took out a pistol. I snatched the gun from him, pushed him against the cabinet, and put the gun to his head.

Looking at the gunmen in front of me, I shouted, "I just want to buy something, why are you attacking me? Aren't you homeless people?"

The man struggled and cursed, "I'm going to fuck your Sky Garden, you bunch of cowards."

I was a little speechless: "Brother, I'm holding a gun to your head, can you please give me some face?"

The man turned around and spat at me, almost hitting me.

I held him down tighter. The man in front with the gun shouted fiercely, "Drop your weapons from the Hanging Gardens! Tell your team to stop fighting and surrender. You can't get away."

I yelled, "Why do you want to fight here? I didn't do anything?"

The soldier, holding his gun, began to get agitated: "I told you to put your gun down."

The people on the train next to me quickly ran away, and I quickly said, "I have a hostage."

But those soldiers seemed to be blinded by anger and shouted at me regardless: "Put down your guns!"

After saying this, the soldiers opened fire at me. Liv opened the ion wall in time to block the bullets. They didn't care about the life or death of the hostages at all. Damn it!

The originally silent desert was filled with gunshots. What was going on?

Liv's ion wall was about to collapse, and suddenly a white-haired man in a gray coat rushed out and knocked down all the shooters: "What are you doing?"

One soldier said, "Those Hanging Gardens people robbed our people and took him hostage."

Karenina shouted angrily: "We just came to buy something, and it was you who shot at us first."

Lucia: "How are people like you qualified to hold weapons? Are weapons given to you to use as you please?"

The soldier was about to shoot again with the gun in his hand, but the man snatched the gun away from him.

"Captain, why? They are from the Sky Garden."

The white-haired man replied, "I know."

"Then kill them now."

The white-haired man shouted angrily at the soldiers: "Are you idiots? What's the point of doing this? Killing them means we can escape the Pamish disaster?"

The soldier knelt down and cried, "But my wife and daughter were all shot to death by the soldiers of the Hanging Gardens in Isirbu. They lived in shame and fled to the Hanging Gardens. Don't they deserve to die? Can't I take revenge?"

The other soldiers seemed to agree: "Yes, Captain."

"Captain Watanabe, weren't your father and brother killed by them?"

Watanabe's face darkened. "I'm telling you again, put your guns down! Get out of here! Who do you think saved you? If I hadn't risked my life to pull you out of this pile of infected bodies, how could you still be alive and well and argue with me? Was all my teaching in vain? Did I give you guns just to kill innocent people? What's the difference between you and the former Sky Garden troops?"

The soldiers were silent, then slowly put down their guns, but their eyes were still extremely terrifying.

Watanabe took a breath, and I felt that the situation was under control, so I let go and let the man go, then put the safety on the gun again and threw it over.

Watanabe took the gun and walked over: "It's not convenient to talk here, let's go into the car and talk."

After saying that, she entered the carriage, and I followed behind. Before Karenina went in, she stuck out her tongue at the soldiers outside. Liv quickly pulled Karenina in and bowed to apologize.
