Then he shouted, "Lucia, watch your step."
Lucia heard my call, but it was too late. A two-meter-tall infected body suddenly emerged from the roof, grabbed Lucia's legs with its slender arms, and threw her hard onto the roof, directly breaking the ceiling. Lucia fell into the house.
I quickly rushed forward, kicked the infected body with my legs, and used it to jump up and shoot. I also quickly took out my gun and fired: "Liv, control the power of the floater."
Liv quickly fired and shot the infected body down from the house, and Li quickly stood on the house to fire back.
I rushed over and shouted, "Lucia." Before I could rush over, Lucia crawled out of the house by herself.
Lucia lowered her head and apologized, "I'm sorry, Commander, I was careless."
I didn't blame her, but immediately hugged Lucia and said sadly: "I thought something would happen to my subordinates so soon."
Looking at the houses that were shaking around me, I reminded me, "Commander, the situation has changed a bit. It seems that all the infected bodies are about to come out of the houses."
I adjusted my mood and observed immediately. Suddenly, countless infected bodies crawled out from the roof, opened their disgusting mouths and roared at us.
Li looked at the dire situation around him and asked, "What should the commander do?"
I thought for a moment and said, "Liv's floater fires at full power to the west."
Liv: "But there will be a time when I won't be able to move."
I replied, "I'll carry you, and Lucia and Li, keep the infected away. Our other teammates should be to the west."
"Copy that, Commander."
Liv's eyes glowed red, and the energy of the floater was instantly fully utilized, spraying out a huge ray, destroying all the houses and infected bodies in the west. Then Liv lost the ability to move and fell down.
I ran over the ruins carrying the incapacitated Liv on my back, while Lucia and Li struggled to block the attacks of these monsters.
While I was running, a giant hand suddenly appeared in front of me and slapped me. I quickly threw Liv out, slid under the giant hand, and then hugged Liv. If it weren't for this protective suit, I don't know if I could do this.
After running for a few minutes, we watched the infected body getting farther and farther away from us.
I shouted, "Li, quickly spread the fluorescent powder."
After hearing what I said, he pulled out two spherical containers from his waist, threw them behind him, and then shot to break the two balls. The fluorescent powder instantly separated us from the infected bodies. We quickly ran into a house and confirmed that there were no infected bodies.
I sat on the ground, holding Liv, and thick dust rose around us.
Liv blushed: "Commander, can you put me down? I should still be able to stand."
I almost forgot about it, so I quickly let Liv go.
Liv: "Commander, you just left me in the sky. I thought you had abandoned me."
I apologized and said, "I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do. Can you go around and see if there are other teams?"
Li immediately jumped onto the house and quickly began to scout around.
Fortunately, they didn't fight head-on, otherwise they would have been killed. Lucia used the broken sofa next to her to wipe off the red liquid on the knife.
I stood up and looked at the house. It had very retro decorations and the roof and ceiling were still there. The house looked nice, but now it was covered with mold and even the beams seemed to be crumbling. But it was indeed a good house. If it weren't for the Pamish virus, maybe I would buy a house like this in the future.
There is a crooked photo of a family of three hanging on the wall. The hostess and the host look like a perfect match made in heaven. The girl in the middle is also very cute. It seems that the family was once very happy.
I straightened the photo. Liv came over and said, "They must have lived happily here before."
I nodded thoughtfully, but I vaguely felt that there was space on the floor under my feet. I quickly wiped off the dust with my hands, inserted a knife into the gap in the floor, and successfully pried the floor open.
Lucia looked at the basement in confusion: "Commander, what is this?"
I replied, "It's a basement."
Liv quickly asked, "What happened?" but she couldn't stand up.
Me: "Liv, you go upstairs, Lucia and I will go downstairs." I turned on the light on my helmet, Lucia walked in front, and I followed behind.
After going down to the basement, it was decorated like an exquisite room with a table in the middle and cupboards and clothes. But next to the table lay the skeleton of a child.
I saw the figure of the child and thought it should be the body of a girl. I thought it should be the little girl in the photo. The right hand of the skeleton was still holding a pen, and there was a yellowed notebook in front of it. I gently picked up the notebook and opened it. The little girl probably didn't know how to write a diary. There was not even a date, and I didn't know when it was written.
I gently pushed aside the little girl's rotten fingers, picked up the yellowed diary and began to read.
Little Girl's Diary
Today, our teacher asked us about our parents' jobs. I immediately went home and asked my parents what they did. My dad proudly told me that my mom and I work at a power plant, managing the city's electricity. He could cause a citywide blackout if he wanted to. He's like, "Isn't he Superman?" Mom is the Superwoman. When she heard me say this, she beamed. I told my classmates at school, and they were envious of my dad, too.
Today the sky is a vibrant red, so beautiful! I asked Dad why it was so red. He said it was a rainbow. I asked, "Don't rainbows have seven colors?" Dad said some rainbows are just one color. Look at today's orange-red. But after a few days, the sky has remained orange-red. I asked Dad why. Dad said it's because the rainbow wants to be with our baby all the time. It turns out the rainbow loves me too. I'm so happy.
