Chapter 11 Recovering

I don’t know how long I slept, but I know I slept a lot. I woke up again and felt like my whole body was wrapped by something.

I opened my eyes and saw that my entire face was wrapped in bandages, my left hand was put on a strange model, and my right leg was also hung up. Because the ceiling was made of glass, I could see my funny appearance, and the original nutrient solution bottle was gone.

I feel very hungry now. I don’t know how long it has been since I fell into a coma.

At this time, Dr. Lisette saw that I was awake and immediately came over. "Finally awake, you must be very hungry now. I'll go get you something to eat. But I'm sorry, in your current condition, you can only drink some nutritious soup."

I said uncomfortably, "It doesn't matter, as long as I can eat it, I'm starving now."

Lister: "Okay, got it." After that, Dr. Lister went out. After a while, she brought a bowl of soup, walked to my bed, and sat down gently.

He scooped a mouthful of soup and put it close to my mouth: "Open your mouth"

I felt a little nervous: "Ah."

I panicked, but found that I couldn't move at all, and the screen next to me showed that my heart rate was rising sharply.

Lisette couldn't help laughing when she saw it: "What's wrong? You can't help yourself when you see a beautiful big sister?"

I turned my face away: "That's not the case."

At this time, the human nurse beside him could no longer bear it and said: "Doctor Lisette, he is a patient. If you do this, there will be problems."

After hearing this, Lisette gave the soup to the nurse and said, "Kate, go and take care of it. I have something else to do."

Kate was carrying the soup without any panic. Seeing that she didn't do anything strange, I felt relieved and just enjoyed the feeding.

After I finished eating, I lay quietly in bed, feeling my left arm slowly growing and aching. I called Kate over and asked, "When will my team members be able to recover?"

Kate: "They are all in the dedicated construct treatment room next door. Don't worry, your subordinates are absolutely fine. They should be able to be discharged within a month."

After listening to this, I felt relieved. Kate stared at my expression and said, "Would you like to look at some Golden Age movies, TV shows, or anime? Recently, the archaeological team has obtained a lot of such data from some abandoned cities. Do you want me to open it for you?"

Since I have nothing to do, I might as well take a look.

I lived like this for more than ten days. During this time, Dr. Lister would always joke with me. I knew she was trying to ease my mood, and I was trying my best to cooperate with her.

But Ness's death and that construct named Roland are always lingering in my mind. A friend of three years, and then he died just like that! It's definitely hard to say.

That Roland seems to be not much different from our ordinary constructs, the main thing is that he seems to be immune to the Pamish virus. To be more precise, he himself exudes the Pamish virus. What exactly are they?

I slowly sat up and looked at the fruits on the table. I picked up an apple with my right hand. The broken bones of my right leg had been reconnected, and the skin on my face had grown back, but I just felt a little uncomfortable.

Now only my left hand has not fully grown out. I took a bite of an apple with my eyes closed. After opening my eyes, I saw a girl in pink clothes standing in front of me. What the hell? It was only a few seconds. Was she teleported?

Liv slowly sat down on the chair beside the bed and lowered her head. Liv slowly said: "I'm sorry, Commander, I couldn't..."

I expected her to say something like that, so I interrupted her and feigned cheer: "Oh! It's great that everyone is still alive."

Liv shed tears: "But Mr. Nice and Miss Deliberate."

I felt very sad, but I suppressed my sadness and said, "Liv, they are gone, so the only thing we can do is never forget them, so let's not be sad, okay?"

I put the apple down and wiped Liv's tears with my hands.

Liv held my hand and said, "Copy that, Commander. You've been lying here for over ten days, you must be bored. Do you need me to go out with you?"

I thought it was true since I hadn't gone out for a walk for more than ten days, so I slowly got out of bed, and Liv hurried to support me.

Liv pushed the wheelchair and wanted me to sit in it, but I quickly refused: "I want to walk more to exercise my legs. If I can't hold on, don't you still have you, Liv?"

Liv was very happy: "Yes, I will be a solid crutch for the commander."

Looking at Liv's innocent smile, and the screen next to me showing that my heart rate was starting to rise again, I hurried out and said hello to Nurse Kate.

I walked out of the Star of Life and found it was very lively outside.

Liv explained, "Because we humans successfully recaptured the Nittus Plateau, the Sky Garden is celebrating. I think the party started yesterday, and I heard it's going to last four days. Commander, let's go check it out!"

The sound insulation of the Star of Life is so good that I couldn’t hear the fireworks being set off through the virtual screen outside.

Walking towards me, there are several small stalls, mostly selling human goods but also some constructs. I look at the small gadgets in the cupboards, they are all toys for children, I have played with most of them when I was in Kowloon, these should be replicas and are quite exquisitely made.

Many children born in the Sky Garden would buy these little things, but I really couldn't interest myself. Going further, I saw some barbecues sold specifically for humans, but Liv couldn't eat them, so I gave up.
