Harrell's words seemed to touch the sorrow in everyone's hearts, and they all cried out.
"Yes, that's right."
"We only get one meal a day, and it's moldy bread. Are we still human beings?"
"Those guys look like they're hoping for our quick death. It's disgusting."
I immediately interrupted and said, "Okay! I understand! I have an idea. Do you know how far this place is from the train tracks of the Adila Business Alliance?"
Harel thought for a moment and said, "It's not too far. We just need to cross the mountain. It will take about two days to walk there. But we don't have any money, and it is forbidden to trade with the Adila Business Alliance here."
I looked at the people around me and said, "The people in the camp already think you're rebels, so there's no need for you to go back. You're no longer considered part of the conservation area. Also, I heard the train has already made a round trip and is now reloading in the city of Kaiat. It will make another round trip in about three days, so I hope you can take three days' worth of supplies and leave. I'll give you a lot of money, but I can't guarantee you'll be able to get on the train. If you have a skill, you might have a chance, but it all depends on luck."
Harrell said doubtfully: "Do you think I can trust you?"
I smiled and said, "As the chief, how can I give you an unreliable method?"
Harrell showed a look of disdain: "Why do I just not believe it?"
I frowned, listened to Harel's words, stood up, activated the armor's combat mode, and said ruthlessly: "Then there may really be no way."
Upon seeing this, Harrell immediately said humbly: "It's a joke, it's a joke."
I looked at Harrell's forced smile, suppressed my anger, and sat down again. "I fucking thought you were Liu Huaqiang. I gave you a good melon, and you still wanted to chop me off. Wouldn't I have to kill you first? I advise you to think carefully."
Harrell touched his chin and thought carefully. After a while, he smiled and said to me, "Okay, I believe you."
Younger brother: "Really? Big brother, are we leaving here?"
"But the infection level here is considered very low. We don't know the situation in other places."
Harrell said calmly: "We are no longer welcome here. If we stay here, it will not end well sooner or later. From the moment we were afraid of your camp, we no longer belong here."
I said happily: "Yes, this is the best solution."
Harrell said, "So how much are you going to pay us?"
I thought about it and said, "How about 3 million?"
Harrell almost vomited what he had just eaten and shouted loudly: "3 million! That's so much."
The younger brothers around him opened their mouths wide in an instant: "3 million, how much money is that?"
"Oh my God! Three million!"
I walked over and directly imported an electronic check into Harel's communication device. It had the logo of my Grey Crow Squad on it. Once used, it would be automatically deducted from my account.
Harrell carefully watched the check on the communicator screen, sliding it back and forth, then instantly stood up, shook my hand and said excitedly: "And you, brother, you are our true hero."
I looked at their smiles. It seemed the matter was resolved, but I still had a question in my mind: "What's wrong with this forest? It looks so disgusting."
Harel explained, "These are trees infected by the Pamish. They used to bear fruit, but since they were infected, they've grown giant fruits. Inside aren't flesh, but slimy bodies like leeches, but with four legs and a tail. The left leg is thicker than the right, and the right arm is thicker than the left. They look very strange, but they're very ferocious. There used to be some wild animals in this woods, but now, apart from some vicious wolves, there are no other beasts. They've all been killed and devoured by these monsters."
I looked at the tree still dripping liquid and asked, "Is there no solution?"
Harel speculated, "Deeper in the woods, there's a huge, hollow eggshell-shaped rock with a large tree growing inside. I stumbled upon it while escaping with my brothers, but I'm not sure. It's just a guess. That's all I know. I don't know any other reason."
I got a general understanding of the situation and started to get them ready to leave, but something unexpected happened.
A little brother grabbed a little girl from the shelf and brought her over: "Boss! This bastard investigator is stealing our stuff."
I watched a girl wearing a wolf-head hat and a dirty black, low-cut dress, struggling in the man's hands. "Let me go, you incorrigible bandits!"
The younger brother pressed her head and yelled, "It's a good thing I didn't fucking kill you, but you're still fucking talking nonsense here."
I looked at the girl in confusion: "Who is she?"
Harel covered his head and said speechlessly, "She's a construct adopted by Sarens and used by Sarens as a scout. She's basically the one who found our location, and we've caught her quite a few times. But she doesn't always tell Sarens where we are, so I never kill her but always let her go. Brother, go take her back! We'll be leaving first."
After saying that, Harrell handed the little girl to me, and then he and his 20 or so younger brothers, each carrying a bag, left and headed towards the top of the mountain.
