The train traveled for over a day before finally reaching the small town where we had previously completed our mission. It was unclear what had become of the place since it was destroyed by the whale. It was unclear if it had been rebuilt. And what about those dozens of girls who had escaped the whale's clutches? They must be doing well, right?
The train stopped in the middle of a vast expanse of snow. I put on my clothes and gently kissed the sleeping Jamila. "Let's go. Take care."
Then he opened the door, walked out, put on his equipment slowly, got off the train and prepared to depart.
Sophia stared at me with a cold expression: "Come back more often when you have time to accompany Miss. Miss has been feeling a little down lately, or rather, a little depressed. But she should be feeling much better these past few days since you came."
I was a little hesitant when I heard this, but I still said to Sofia firmly: "Don't worry, I will leave the Hanging Garden one day to accompany Jamila."
Jianon took off her work clothes and changed into a black vest and jacket, a white skirt, and furry shoes.
"Finally, I get to spend a few days with the Commander. I'm so happy. Wow!"
Jianon ran back and forth excitedly on the snow, with furry ears on his head, just like No. 21's, except that they looked more like dog ears. They must have been newly installed during the repair of the machine.
The cold wind blew into my helmet, so I had to close the mask. Seeing Jiaxing so happy like a child, I felt very happy too.
"Kano! Be careful, don't slip."
"Okay, Commander. Then, Commander, come and carry me. Carry me! Carry me!"
Kanon said as she ran over and opened her arms for a hug.
I slowly knelt on one knee and carefully picked up Jia Nong, then placed her on my shoulder. I tapped her nose with my finger and said, "Sit on it well. It will probably take another half an hour to fly here."
Rosetta briefly checked her armor. "Will I have to spend the next few days with you when I get there?"
"That's right. Less than three months after your last departure, most of the Arctic Route Alliance proposed disbanding your forest rangers. So you must join me in abolishing this proposal."
My expression seemed quite nonchalant, which made Rosetta a little confused.
"Why are you doing this? Is there any point in helping me like this?"
"Why? I don't know. Just think of it as me trying to woo you and please you."
I turned on the jet behind me, but I didn't plan to turn on the anti-gravity device directly, because the surrounding temperature had dropped to minus 40 degrees Celsius. Although the jet would not be frozen, it would be unusable if it was blocked by snow during flight.
Rosetta watched me take the first step and listened to what I said. She didn't feel very excited, but there was still some confusion on her face: "Why do I feel like he's lying?"
"Forget it? Let's go!"
Rosetta shook her head, quickly turned on the jet behind her and followed me closely.
Because the wind was so strong, frost even began to form on Jianon's face. He quickly put on the hood on the back of his coat, hugged my neck tightly with both hands, and silently endured the cold.
I had never taken a good look at the scenery of this mountain area before I came here. I didn’t expect the snow scenery here to be so nice. There are icebergs, houses frozen into ice blocks, and naturally formed ice cones. It must be nice if I am in a good mood. If I didn’t have armor now, I would have been frozen to death.
After a while, I arrived at the town where I had completed the mission before. A desolate scene appeared in front of me. This naturally formed basin was full of broken bricks and tiles. Although the town here was considered very poor before, I didn’t expect that there would be so few people now.
I walked slowly into the ruins. There was a huge hole left on the ground where the whale's huge body hit, and the ground looked desolate.
Rosetta stared at the scene in disbelief, reaching out to grab the scattered fishing floats on the ground. "Why did it become like this? Isn't this a well-developed fishing town? Why isn't it being rebuilt? Have the fish disappeared?"
In just half an hour, Jianon's body was frozen like an ice cube. Although he couldn't feel the cold, he looked very uncomfortable.
Kanon shook off the snow on her body and looked blankly at the ruins around her: "Commander, is this our destination? It doesn't seem like it."
"Um...I don't know, but it seems like there's no one here."
I was speechless for a moment, but seeing the state of Ganon's mobile suit, I quickly pulled myself together: "Then let's go to York City, the largest city in the Arctic Sailing Alliance! The girls rescued by the commander back then should all be there."
I turned around and slowly approached the still sad Rosetta. I stretched out my left hand and placed it on Rosetta's head. "Let's go! There's no one here anymore."
As I said that, I took a step ahead again. After a while, Rosetta left here reluctantly.
As a result, a blizzard came after a while, and the temperature dropped sharply to minus 60 degrees Celsius. The blizzard hit us like a sharp sword, and after a while, my armor seemed unable to withstand it.
I had no choice but to open the ion shield to barely block the wind and snow. What on earth was this wretch trying to do? It had only been a dozen minutes and it was already going crazy like crazy. This weather felt like it could swallow up an army.
"Rosetta! Are you okay? I can't see you."
A huge snowstorm had engulfed Rosetta and me. All around us was a terrifying white. Not even a tree could be seen. It seemed as if they were all buried in the snow. I looked back but could not see Rosetta at all, so I had to use the communication to call Rosetta.
