When I woke up in the morning, I was sleeping on the floor with a torn carpet. Nanashi had been pinching my abdomen with both hands while he was sleeping. When I woke up in the morning, I found that Nanashi was gone, and only Liv was with me.
I sat up sleepily, only to find that Liv was opening her own body. Her whole body was like a refrigerator, split into two halves to reveal the mechanical structure inside. Liv carefully scanned her body with the floater.
I stood aside, quietly gazing at this beautiful body. Liv seemed to notice my gaze and quickly straightened herself back to normal. She said hurriedly, "Did I disturb you, Commander? I didn't mean to show that. I'm very sorry."
I looked at Liv's panicked expression, slowly leaned over and gently licked Liv's face, then held Liv's face and said affectionately: "No matter what you become, Commander still loves you."
Liv: "Commander..."
I asked, "Where did that kid Nanashi go?"
Liv: "Ms. Nanami left the camp two hours ago."
Me: “Then no one should bother us.”
Liv: "Uh-huh! Commander! Commander! Liv! Liv is going."
After Liv and I finished picking radishes in the morning, we prepared to say goodbye to Watanabe.
I looked at the Forgotten Squad that was about to set off. Some of the seriously injured ones would be left behind to guard the camp. They looked very pitiful, but all the infected bodies nearby should have been eliminated yesterday, so there shouldn't be any big problems.
To be honest, I still have some doubts in my heart. What can these nearly 50 refugees do? If they go to the new city on the ground of the Sky Garden, if they don't have some technology and high IQ, there is a great possibility that they will be forced to become constructs and then sent to the battlefield to die.
So I feel that their journey this time is meaningless, but for Captain Watanabe, he may or may not still have a little fantasy about the Sky Garden. The Sky Garden does not believe in him now, and he does not believe in the Sky Garden now.
But think about it again, it is also possible that the refugees did not believe Captain Watanabe. They would rather believe in the Sky Garden, which was unwilling to send rescue to them, than believe in the Forgotten Squad that had been escorting them for nearly three weeks. How stupid!
I watched the Forgotten Squad go away. I held Liv's hand tightly and said, "Let's go! We have to go to Kowloon."
Liv: "Yes! Commander, I also want to visit your hometown."
Then he turned on the anti-gravity device and flew into the sky with Liv, flying towards Kowloon City.
I took Liv's hand and flew quickly over the huge city wall that had protected Kowloon for decades. When I saw this city wall as a child, I always thought it was made of steel. I didn't expect that it was painted with a layer of silver-gray paint. Except for the upper guardrail which was made of iron, the rest was all made of stone.
Behind the first wall are the ruins of some factories. This might be the place where some products in the Kowloon area were produced in the past.
The second city wall was filled with dilapidated wooden houses and sheds, with basically no tall buildings. Half of the rotten wood was sunken into the soil, looking a bit like coal, which would break if touched.
Finally, when we were about to reach the third city wall, we found that this wall was not damaged at all, but had been renovated several times. The giant machine guns on the wall kept rotating back and forth.
But there is a giant ring-shaped spire standing behind the high wall, and there are several giant ring-shaped devices around the spire that are constantly rotating, a bit like a group of meteorites surrounding a planet.
The top of the spire released green energy into the air, and the entire inner city of Kowloon was wrapped in this energy. When we were about to approach the city wall, the green energy wall automatically opened a hole, and we rushed in quickly.
I had just landed in Kowloon City, and the scene inside completely astonished me. What was going on? The scene before me was a bit like the Forbidden City from the ancient dynasties I learned about in junior high history textbooks. Ancient buildings were everywhere, and apart from the spire in the center of the city, there were no other modern buildings.
Liv and I were walking in a small alley with a lot of people. When the people inside saw Liv and me, the whole scene suddenly changed into a teahouse, and the street that was originally full of passers-by suddenly disappeared.
There was a man standing on the long platform, holding a bamboo board in his hand with a solemn look. The audience around him were sitting quietly on chairs, drinking tea and preparing to watch the performance on the stage.
Liv and I were completely shocked. In this sudden change of scene, it didn't feel like a holographic projection. It felt like we were really in one scene and suddenly teleported to another. Everything was so real.
The young man holding the bamboo board on the stage said to us, "Please take your seats as soon as possible. The performance is about to begin."
Liv and I looked at each other, and then two chairs suddenly appeared behind us. I sat on them in shock, and Liv also sat on the chair in surprise.
When the young man saw us sitting down, he took two steps forward in Chinese opera costume and cloth shoes, picked up the bamboo boards with both hands and started beating them with compact dance steps, and then shouted in an opera voice.
"Ha! Let's talk about that great revolution! It lasted for over three years and five months! Everyone was on edge! A life in heaven and earth is worth less than a starving dog on the side of the road! Look at our great Kowloon! Smoke and bloating are rising to the sky! On the left is the Virgin Mary (hinting at the city of Maria on the left), and on the right is the emperor of that little country (hinting at little Japan). Both sides are like wolves and tigers, and they can't stop each other! The stomach is swallowing the Yellow River! The resentment is rising to the sky! Hey!"
