Guilty

Guilty

At 2 p.m., all three were in place and the review began on time.

Perhaps it was a matter of practice making perfect, but Lin Ting felt that he was scoring faster. He wouldn't go back to score, because that would not only affect efficiency but also potentially influence his judgment.

If you watch it twice, you might pay too much attention to some insignificant details, which could affect the overall rating.

There was no time specifically set aside for dinner. The three of them would send a message to let others know when they were about to eat, leave the online meeting room, and then come back immediately after finishing their meal.

Lin Ting took about ten minutes to eat, then immediately came back to continue working, without interrupting her work at all.

He flipped to the lyrics for number 137, and a standardized judgment process had already formed in his mind according to the scoring criteria. The five score items quickly appeared in his mind. He quickly typed them into the online shared document, then immediately closed the lyrics and opened the next one.

Before moving on to the next piece, he belatedly realized that he had experienced a subtle sense of familiarity with the lyrics of the one he had just finished reading. Since "familiarity" was not directly reflected in their scoring criteria, Lin Ting did not care whether these submitted works gave him a sense of familiarity.

He didn't dwell on it, but instead pushed the feeling of familiarity aside and continued reading.

At nine o'clock in the evening, he stretched and checked his progress. He had finished about half of it, as had another teacher who was at a similar pace.

The teacher who read very quickly in the morning slowed down a bit in the afternoon and evening, and is now about halfway through.

"We'll just have to watch it for another day tomorrow!" Chang Zhiyuan seemed very excited. He had been online in the meeting room all day, but hadn't said a word, probably busy with work. Now he finally couldn't help but shout it out.

Lin Ting stretched, turned on her microphone to say goodbye, and left the meeting room.

After a long day of work, with her vision and attention completely occupied by the text, Lin Ting now has some free time and feels a sense of emptiness despite her exhaustion.

He relaxed his body and leaned back in his chair, raising his head slightly and staring blankly at a point in the air.

After a while, he sat up straight again and, as if possessed, opened a video website.

He casually wrote "Let's chat" in his live stream description and then started broadcasting.

After trending on social media and appearing on TV shows last year, he gained a lot more attention. So when he started his live stream, people quickly entered the chat and sent messages like "Good evening."

"Good evening, good evening. I'll just play a little bit today. I'll find a playlist to play first."

Lin Ting has a playlist specifically for live streaming. He randomly picked a song to play in order and adjusted the volume to a suitable level.

After he finished doing all of the above, quite a few people had already entered the live stream room and started asking him what he would be broadcasting that night.

Lin Ting glanced at the screen and replied, "There's nothing to broadcast, I just came up to chat with you guys."

Why didn't the streamer turn on their camera?

"I'm used to it. I never turn on my camera when I stream. Even though I was on a show recently, we still do it the same way on our own accounts."

What have you been busy with lately, streamer?

"I've been busy making videos, haven't you noticed I've been updating more frequently lately?"

At this point, Lin Ting suddenly knew what to talk about, so he opened the latest video and watched it with everyone.

[Hasn't the streamer seen their own videos? Why are they still playing them in the live stream?]

A group of people in the live chat started typing "?".

Lin Ting smiled and said, "It's okay, let's watch it again together. Those who haven't watched it yet can watch it together in the live stream."

However, Lin Ting wouldn't just let them watch the video passively; that would seem like he was just going through the motions and teasing the audience. He would pause from time to time to talk about things that couldn't be included due to time constraints.

After finishing the video, Lin Ting chatted briefly with the audience before going offline, having streamed for a total of one hour.

He felt sleepy, so he washed up quickly and went to bed, knowing he would have to continue working hard the next day.

After getting up in the morning, he yawned as he cooked himself a bowl of noodles and slowly slurped them down.

Zhao Qinfeng was still away on a business trip. Lin Ting tapped the phone screen with one finger for a while before sending Zhao Qinfeng a "Good morning" message.

Zhao Qinfeng had also gotten up and posted a photo of a round white mushroom growing by a tree, still covered in morning dew.

Lin Ting continued to eat her noodles slowly, and seeing that she was about to eat more and more, she sped up a little. After finishing, she returned to her computer, entered the online meeting room, and started working.

"Good morning, everyone. Have you had breakfast yet?" Lin Ting asked through the microphone.

The first sound was a yawn. "Good morning, Teacher Jinghu. I've already eaten." It was Chang Zhiyuan.

A line of smaller text popped up from the bottom left corner.

"I'm eating now, and I'll finish soon!" said a teacher who was eating breakfast with her microphone closed.

After a while, everyone started scoring the remaining entries on time.

Right after the scores were given, they couldn't know whether the work would pass the preliminary selection, because whether a work would pass the preliminary selection was based on its ranking, not its score.

Everyone was still busy until 9 p.m., and finally the preliminary selection was completed.

Chang Zhiyuan spoke up, saying, "Leave the data analysis to me, thank you all for your hard work! I'll post the compiled data and the list of those who passed the preliminary selection in the work group chat later. Of course, you can also wait for the first-hand information during the meeting..."

Upon hearing the first half of the sentence, everyone cheered and quickly logged off, leaving only Chang Zhiyuan in the conference room in the blink of an eye.

Chang Zhiyuan remained silent for a moment, then raised his hand to close the meeting, and went off to process the data alone.

Lin Ting was so focused on scoring that he didn't notice anything outside. He picked up a water glass from the table and went outside. He opened the door and first heard the sound of a kettle boiling water coming from the kitchen, then he saw Zhao Qinfeng sitting cross-legged on the sofa.

"You're back." Lin Ting greeted him while holding a water glass.

"Yes, I'm back," Zhao Qinfeng said with a smile, looking a little tired. "I saw the kettle was empty, so I boiled some water for it."

Lin Ting placed the water glass on the coffee table, and the glass gently tapped against the table, making a crisp sound.

Lin Ting sat down next to Zhao Qinfeng, and Zhao Qinfeng naturally reached out and put his arm around him.

"You look tired too?" Now that they were closer, Zhao Qinfeng could see the expression on Lin Ting's face more clearly.

Lin Ting shifted slightly in Zhao Qinfeng's arms, found a comfortable position to lean back, and said lazily, "Although I'm a homebody, I still have things to do."

Zhao Qinfeng simply said "Oh" and didn't say anything else.

The water boiled quickly, and the bubbling sound could be faintly heard, followed by a "click" of the switch.

The boiling sound quickly subsided, and Lin Ting used the momentum to stand up, picked up the cup again, and walked towards the kitchen.

When Lin Ting returned, she brought two cups of warm water.

Zhao Qinfeng said softly, "Thank you."

Lin Ting waved his hand: "You're welcome."

Zhao Qinfeng picked up the water glass, feeling the perfectly warm cup against his palm. He asked casually, "What made you decide to do a live stream yesterday?"

Lin Ting swallowed the warm water in her mouth, making a soft swallowing sound. "I was a little tired from being busy yesterday, so I wanted to find something to relax and started a live stream to chat with everyone."

Zhao Qinfeng sighed, "When I got my phone last night, I just saw you were ending your live stream. I didn't see anything, and there was no replay."

Lin Ting said, "I'm a living, breathing person right in front of you, stop thinking about the live stream. I really didn't say anything."

He thought for a moment and added, "If you really feel like you've missed something, you can go and watch my latest video again, and I'll explain it to you, okay?"

Zhao Qinfeng was a little embarrassed, "That's not a good idea, you look quite tired."

Lin Ting said with a forced smile, "You look pretty tired, how come you still have the energy to cause trouble?"

Zhao Qinfeng sat up straight, leaned over and kissed him on the lips, "Just kidding, don't be mad at me."

Looking into those eyes so close to his face, Lin Ting thought to himself that he wasn't really angry; he was just putting on an act.

For some reason, he couldn't look Zhao Qinfeng in the eye and smoothly express what was on his mind, so he slowly looked away.

Zhao Qinfeng's eyes were filled with unreserved frankness, and his affection for her sparkled brightly. When Lin Ting saw such a look, he felt a strange sense of guilt.

When viewers in the live stream asked him what he'd been busy with lately, he brushed it off by saying he was making videos, because some things weren't convenient to talk about directly in the live stream. Other things he'd been busy with recently required confidentiality, and he couldn't just use them as a secret diversion.

However, Zhao Qinfeng and he were clearly much closer, but he brushed it off with the excuse that he "also had things to do."

Zhao Qinfeng placed the water glass on the coffee table, then used both hands to hold Lin Ting's face, forcing him to look at him directly.

Lin Ting could feel the unusually high temperature of Zhao Qinfeng's palm, probably from holding the cup. He had no choice but to look Zhao Qinfeng in the eye again.

Lin Ting could feel Zhao Qinfeng's gaze moving over his face, looking back and forth, before finally placing a kiss on the corner of his eye.

Zhao Qinfeng asked, "Are you in a bad mood?"

Lin Ting wanted to shake his head, but his head was pressed down by the other person's hand, preventing him from doing so.

Lin Ting threw the question back at him: "Why do you think that?"

Zhao Qinfeng said, "It's just a feeling... You seem to be troubled by something, ever since we happened to meet in Xin'an."

Lin Ting trembled slightly, which should have been very difficult to notice, but Zhao Qinfeng's hand was still covering his face, so he noticed it immediately.

The two stared at each other for a long time. Lin Ting finally gave in, resigned, and said with a hint of relief, "Okay, I do have something I'm hiding from you."
