065: The Man Washing the Sheets in the Morning (1/2)

The next morning, after Shen Jichuan got up, he glanced at the room across the hall.

Last night he almost impulsively went to see Wen Qiao.

But considering that they hadn't held a wedding yet, they hadn't revealed Wen Qiao's identity.

He feared that if he had a relationship with her, Wen Qiao might regret it the moment before marrying him.

He held back.

Seeing the soiled sheets, Shen Jichuan took them to the bathroom.

I was just washing when I heard Wen Qiao's voice.

"You're up so early! Are you going to the military base?"

Shen Jichuan hummed in agreement. "Why are you up so early? It's not even time for you to go to work yet."

Wen Qiao gave a delicate yawn.

"I'm going to visit my mom. I'll go straight to work at the supply and marketing cooperative from there. I won't be back for lunch; I'm going there."

Shen Jichuan asked, "And what about me?"

He asked this subconsciously.

Only he and Wen Qiao were left at home. Now Wen Qiao was going to stay with her mother, so what about him...?

Wen Qiao chuckled and said, "Of course you work at a company."

As Wen Qiao spoke, she noticed the bed sheets piled up in front of Shen Jichuan.

"Why are you changing the sheets so early in the morning? Leave them here, I'll wash them for you when I get back."

Wen Qiao always goes home first after getting off work in the afternoon.

Shen Jichuan might not come back every day.

If he's very busy, he either comes home very late at night or doesn't come home at all.

Wen Qiao then offered to wash his bed sheets.

"No need, I can wash it myself."

When Shen Jichuan answered, he didn't dare to look Wen Qiao in the eye.

Who would have thought that this man was almost forty?

He could even become so impulsive and out of control because of a female comrade.

Wen Qiao was in a hurry to go to her mother's place, so she quickly washed up, told Shen Jichuan, and left.

She got up very early and left home at 5:30.

It was already daylight when I took the first bus.

Wen Qiao also stopped by a breakfast stall and bought her mother some fried dough sticks and meat buns.

When they arrived at the courtyard, Lü Yazhi had already woken up.

Hearing the knock, she quickly opened the door and saw Wen Qiao.

Only then did I feel relieved.

"Why are you here so early? I was wondering if you were coming today. You're so busy with your job and night school."

Wen Qiao walked into the courtyard and said, "I'll definitely come. You just arrived in Beicheng, and I'm worried about you. I'll come and keep you company whenever I have free time these next few days."

"Mom, I bought breakfast. Let's eat first."

"After I finish eating, I have to go to work at the supply and marketing cooperative. If I keep taking leave, they will definitely not want me anymore."

Lü Yazhi nodded and said yes.

Seeing that Wen Qiao seemed very anxious, she didn't ask the questions she wanted to.

Instead, he said:

"If you're busy with work, then don't come every day."

How can she get enough rest when she has to get up so early in the morning, go to work, and attend night school?

Lü Yazhi was naturally worried about her daughter.

Wen Qiao said, "It's alright. I'm more at ease coming to see you. You've just arrived in Beicheng and don't know anyone here, so I was a little worried."

Wen Qiao set out breakfast and invited her mother to sit down.

After the mother and daughter finished their simple breakfast, Wen Qiao gave Lü Yazhi fifty yuan and told her to take it and buy whatever she wanted.

If you want to go out for a walk, go for a stroll around the neighborhood. If you don't want to go out, just stay at home. She'll come back after get off work at noon.

The area around this small courtyard is quite convenient; she had taken a look around when she arrived.

There were supply and marketing cooperatives, vegetable markets, bookstores, and teahouses.
