175: Sister Su's troublesome daughter (2/2)

When Su Mei came to pack her things after dinner, Shen Jichuan spoke to her before Wen Qiao could say anything.

Tell her to go find Political Commissar Wang and ask him about her husband.

“Political Commissar Wang has been in the Northwest for a long time, so it would be more appropriate for you to go to him. It’s not that I don’t want to help you, but I don’t even know your husband’s identity or background.”

"Sister Su, I hope you can understand."

Su Mei looked somewhat embarrassed.

He nodded. "Yes, sir, I understand."

Su Mei didn't say anything more, and quickly cleaned up the dishes and chopsticks that Wen Qiao had used and took them out.

As she walked out, Su Mei couldn't help but think about it.

He really is a leading cadre in the military.

One look from him and she didn't dare say a word.

She didn't dare to go directly to Shen Jichuan, but instead went through a roundabout way to find Wen Qiao, because she was afraid of being rejected.

Now look what's happened! Mr. Shen rejected Wen Qiao harshly in front of her.

Thinking about her situation of being disliked by others, Su Mei became sensitive and started crying again.

After quickly putting her child to sleep and having dinner, Lü Yazhi tidied up the dishes on the table and carried them to the kitchen.

I happened to see Su Mei wiping away tears.

"Sister Su, what's wrong with you?"

Lü Yazhi disliked that Su Mei's eyes were always fixed on her son-in-law, Shen Jichuan.

However, after observing, Lü Yazhi realized that Su Mei was probably not in love with her son-in-law.

In addition to what her daughter Wen Qiao said, Su Mei had also helped her with her studies.

Lu Yazhi gradually changed her opinion of Su Mei.

Seeing that Su Mei's behavior was a bit strange, Lü Yazhi asked her about it with concern.

Su Mei didn't say anything, she just smiled, but it looked even worse than crying.

"Sister Su, just tell me what's wrong. My Xiaoqiao and her husband are both very good people."

Su Mei then said, "I know that Comrade Xiao Qiao and Mr. Shen are both very nice. It was my fault for being impolite. I shouldn't have asked Mr. Shen to inquire about my husband."

“I have no choice. I want to find him, even if it means staying in the Northwest for the rest of my life, so that at least the three of us can be together.”

Upon hearing this, Lü Yazhi immediately replied, "I don't understand these things, and I can't be of any help."

Lu Yazhi put down her chopsticks and went out.

As soon as I turned my head, I saw Su Mei's daughter, Xia Keke, standing at the kitchen door.

"You little girl, you walk so quietly, like a cat."

"Grandma Lü, my mother is crying. She must be too tired lately..."

Upon hearing this, Lü Yazhi snorted inwardly.

He said calmly, "Who doesn't get tired these days? Since you know your mother is tired, you should cause less trouble."

“Your second child was sleeping peacefully this afternoon, but you insisted on playing with him. You’re not a little kid anymore, why are you teasing a little baby?”

The children all slept in the same room as Lü Yazhi, and Su Mei would go over to take care of the children.

Su Mei and Lü Yazhi took turns keeping watch at night, alternating between the first and second halves of the night.

But during the day, when Su Mei is doing her work, she usually asks Xia Keke to help take care of her.

Ever since Lü Yazhi accidentally discovered that Xia Keke liked to tease her little grandson, she has been keeping a close eye on her.

Basically, all Su Mei does is do laundry or go out to buy groceries.

When Xia Keke was the only one left, Lü Yazhi would hold one, look at one, and stare at the other.

Although it was a bit tiring, at least she felt at ease.

Because of Xia Keke, Lü Yazhi even considered letting Su Mei leave.

But Su Mei did a really good job; with her around, things were much easier both at home and outside.

This is truly a difficult and worrying situation.

At that moment, Xia Keke lowered her head and rolled her eyes.

She said in a low voice, feigning grievance, "I was just playing with my little brother, Grandma Lü. Do you not like me?"

When she looked up again, Xia Keke burst into tears.

"I don't know what I did wrong, why doesn't anyone like me?"
