Wu Jiandong nodded, "Aunt Lü, you're right. I know I was wrong. As for Su Mei, I'll discipline her properly."
Lü Yazhi hummed in agreement. Just then, the nanny who had gone out to buy groceries returned. Lü Yazhi chatted with the nanny as she went back into the house.
Wu Jiandong smoked a cigarette outside, reflecting on his thoughtless actions and the truths Lü Yazhi had told him.
He had previously suspected that Lü Yazhi had ulterior motives in marrying his father, since his father was a commander who would soon retire, and she could live a good life by living off his pension.
He can still inherit a portion of the Wu family's assets after his father passes away.
But she really is a kind-hearted woman.
Whether it was his father, or him, his wife Li Sumei, and his son Wu Suowei, they were all taken very well in.
When Wu Jiandong returned to the living room, he saw his father coming out.
After hesitating for a moment, Wu Jiandong stepped forward and said, "Dad, I'm sorry. I acted impulsively and lost my temper at the hospital yesterday. I shouldn't have yelled at you."
Wu Yongliang was still angry. He snorted, his face long, and didn't answer at all.
Lu Yazhi looked at him and said softly, "Old Wu, the child has already apologized to you. How can you, as a father, still hold a grudge against your own child?"
"Jiandong, your father has forgiven you. You are father and son, you can't hold a grudge."
Wu Jiandong nodded. "Aunt Lü, thank you."
Lü Yazhi asked Wu Jiandong to go upstairs and call Li Sumei down for breakfast.
Wu Yongliang then looked at Lü Yazhi and asked, "Did you say something to Jiandong?"
Lü Yazhi didn't hide anything and said, "I explained to Jiandong that my body makes it impossible for me to have any more children. I also said that even if I could have children, you, who are already a grandfather, would not want to be a burden to your son or grandson."
Wu Yongliang muttered something under his breath.
"That's not necessarily true. If they discuss it with me properly, I might not have the baby. But if they act tough with me, then I'll really give them a baby. I'll make them furious."
Upon hearing this, Lü Yazhi smiled and took it as a joke from Old Wu.
After Wu Jiandong went upstairs, he didn't call Li Sumei downstairs for breakfast. Instead, he heard a commotion coming from the second floor, with things being smashed and things being thrown, as well as Li Sumei crying and shouting that she didn't have any.
Lü Yazhi wanted to go up and take a look, but Wu Yongliang stopped her.
"When young couples quarrel, you, as their stepmother-in-law, shouldn't interfere."
Wu Yongliang asked the nanny to go upstairs to check.
Before the nanny went upstairs, Wu Jiandong came down from the second floor.
He told the nanny directly, "Ignore her. She's always causing trouble, complaining about this and that. She's the only one who's good."
It's unclear what Wu Jiandong said to Li Sumei, but it's obvious that Wu Jiandong vented some of his anger on Li Sumei.
Lü Yazhi felt that Li Sumei deserved it.
Lu Yazhi simply did not believe that Wu Jiandong would drug his own father.
As doctors, don't they know that secretly administering drugs to people is an illegal act?
Hearing Li Sumei cry, Lü Yazhi felt that she deserved it.
Wu Jiandong seemed to be in a good mood. He came down from the second floor and sat down to have breakfast with Wu Yongliang, Lü Yazhi, and Wu Suowei.
He didn't have to work today, so he went out after breakfast, saying he had made an appointment to go fishing with a friend.
After breakfast, Lü Yazhi was relaxing at home when Wen Qiao called, asking her with concern how she was feeling and how her spirits were.
Lü Yazhi felt very good.
I told him I'd take Xiaowei to the Shen family's house later.
Wen Qiao responded.
On the other end of the phone, I heard Old Wu say that he was also going to the Shen family's house.
The Wu family nowadays has lost all humanity.
