Upon hearing Shen Jichuan ask this question, Wen Qiao immediately realized that He Muyi, that idiot, had really been tricked into revealing all his secrets by Shen Jichuan.
Wen Qiao simply sat down next to Shen Jichuan.
He asked, "What else did you get out of He Muyi?"
Shen Jichuan smiled and said, "Are you trying to probe me?"
Compared to that fool He Muye, Shen Jichuan appeared to be very cunning and shrewd.
Wen Qiao chuckled lightly, "I'm your wife, what could I possibly ask you?"
“There are some secrets that even my wife can’t tell you.” Shen Jichuan said, leaning back on the sofa, and then said in a low voice, “But I’ve never hidden anything from you about things outside of work.”
Wen Qiao reached out and touched his face.
She said softly, "I know, I know everything."
After his older sister brought him some hangover soup and Wen Qiao fed it to him, Shen Jichuan didn't want to move and lay down on the sofa to rest. Wen Qiao covered him with a blanket.
She took the children out.
I went to my mother's restaurant.
Lu Yazhi was very happy to see her daughter. Old Wu was also helping out at the restaurant. He still had some difficulty moving around. However, when Wen Qiao was abroad, she specifically asked Huo Dongqing if there were any effective medicines for treating hemiplegia and got some for Old Wu.
"Uncle Wu, you're really amazing now, you can even be an accountant."
Wen Qiao stood to the side, watching Old Wu doing the accounting and joking with him.
When Wu Yongliang saw Wen Qiao, he smiled happily, "Xiao Qiao, you're finally back! You have no idea how much your mother missed you."
"I took the medicine you mailed to me as instructed, and it worked very well. I can walk slowly now, and the doctor said I'm recovering very well."
Wen Qiao smiled and said, "That's good. I'll buy some more later."
"You know the person who prescribed your medicine, Dr. Huo Dongqing. He is a trustworthy doctor."
Wu Yongliang said, "So it's that young man from the Huo family. He's abroad and doesn't even know to come back. Old Master Huo's health isn't very good either. A while ago, your mother and I went to visit him at the Huo family. Old Master Huo was so excited. He said, 'Even I'm like this, and you still want to visit me. You know, we were such powerful people back then, and now we're all sick and disabled.'"
Wen Qiao said, "Uncle Wu, you are heroes. But even heroes grow old. Don't worry, this country has a new generation of successors. Just enjoy your retirement and don't worry about anything else."
"I will take care of you and Mom in our old age. You don't need to worry about anything."
Wu Yongliang was deeply moved as he listened to Wen Qiao's words.
None of his children were as genuinely concerned for him as Wen Qiao.
His son, though filial, wasn't a considerate one. As for his daughter-in-law, she was unreliable; after all, she hadn't given birth to him, and he couldn't morally coerce her into taking care of him, her father-in-law.
"I'm content with what you've said. Your mother and I are still able to move around, so we won't trouble you. When we're too old to move around, the government will take care of us and send us to a nursing home."
"How can that be? When I'm done with my work, we'll buy a big house. Then you and Mom can live with us. It'll be so lively and fun, won't it be great?"
Watching her daughter and husband chat, Lü Yazhi felt happy.
He told the other waiters to finish up the remaining work and then everyone could go and rest.
Old Wu asked Wen Qiao, "How much longer are you going to stay abroad? When can you come back? Your mother only has you as her daughter, you can't stay abroad and never come back."
