426: Looking forward to the night (2/2)

A few friends he'd known for years pulled him into a few more drinks, but they were all sensible people who just joined in the fun and teased him for a bit before the party ended.

When Zhao Qingzhou got home, he immediately went upstairs and saw Liang Qing packing her things.

His room was decorated as a wedding room, and quite a few people came to his house today to join in the fun, so the upstairs bedroom was a bit dirty, with sunflower seed shells, peanut shells, and candy wrappers and the like.

As she was cleaning, she heard footsteps coming from the stairs. Liang Qing turned her head and saw Zhao Qingzhou coming upstairs.

Before going upstairs, Zhao Qingzhou saw the two children in the living room, but not their parents. He asked his son, who said that his grandparents had gone back to their room.

Zhao Qingzhou didn't care; he knew Liang Qing was upstairs and had come up specifically for that purpose.

Before Liang Qing could speak, Zhao Qingzhou spoke first.

"No need to rush to clean up. I'll clean up later, or you can have the housekeeper clean up tomorrow. You must be tired after a busy day."

Although the two held a wedding, Liang Qing still felt a sense of unfamiliarity and discomfort with the change in her status.

She didn't know how to respond to Zhao Qingzhou's words.

After a moment of silence, she said, "I'm fine, not tired at all."

Zhao Qingzhou knew Liang Qing's personality; she wasn't the outgoing type, so he didn't dare to joke with her too much.

He politely but with appropriate distance went back to his room to wash up, but while washing up, he deliberately called Liang Qing to get him a bath towel and pajamas.

He said he forgot to take it.

Liang Qing didn't think much of it. Although she felt embarrassed, she still went to deliver the bath towel and pajamas. Through the door, she deliberately avoided eye contact and handed over the pajamas and bath towel. When Zhao Qingzhou took the things, his wet hand touched hers. Liang Qing quickly withdrew her hand as if she had been electrocuted.

Watching Liang Qing turn and leave, Zhao Qingzhou knew perfectly well what was going on.

Liang Qing agreed to marry him, but she wasn't mentally prepared for intimate contact with him.

Liang Qing always said that the man she loved was Zhao Qingyu, but Zhao Qingyu's significance to her was different from that of other men. It was a feeling of redemption first, and then a strange affection arose from pity.

This feeling became Liang Qing's love for Zhao Qingyu.

Of course, there was love involved, but in Liang Qing's heart, Zhao Qingyu was also her benefactor, the hero who saved her from dire straits.

Her love for Zhao Qingyu was tinged with admiration.

But her relationship with Zhao Qingzhou was just that of a mature man and woman, the kind of compatibility she perceived between them as.

There might be some discomfort during physical contact, but there's absolutely no feeling of deep love.

Liang Qing was aware of this.

Similarly, Zhao Qingzhou was also aware of this. He knew that Liang Qing still had feelings for her younger brother, but he wasn't in a hurry; he figured they would get to each other eventually.

Anyway, he's the only one living with Liang Qing now.

After quickly drying himself off, Zhao Qingzhou put on his pajamas, wondering how he and Liang Qing would spend the night together...

That definitely can't be like before, with Liang Qing taking care of Niannian and him taking care of Xiaoze to sleep.

However, it's not suitable for the brother and sister to sleep in the same room.

Zhao Qingzhou thought that he would let his son sleep with his grandparents that night, and the little boy would not mind.

Just then, she heard Zhao's mother calling Liang Qing from the living room.

Liang Qing went out of the house and walked downstairs, her eyes meeting Zhao Qingzhou's as he came out of the bathroom.

He was wearing a gray-black striped pajama set, and he looked fresher and younger than when he was at work. He exuded a refined air, and his hair was loose. His eyebrows and eyes really resembled Zhao Qingyu. Liang Qing almost thought she was seeing Zhao Qingyu.

Seeing her stunned expression, Zhao Qingzhou asked, "You saw him through me?"

“Liang Qing, I won’t force you to forget him, or you can treat me as him.”

Liang Qing shook her head. "No, that's not fair to you. No matter how similar you two are, I can tell the difference. He is him, and you are you. Don't say things like that again."

Zhao Qingzhou didn't say anything, and Liang Qing quickly went downstairs.

Zhao Qingzhou felt a pang of frustration. Was he not even qualified to be his younger brother's stand-in?
