Chapter 257: Brother Tantai

After coming out of the palace, Su Lijin lowered her head and thought about Tan Tai Zixun whom she had just seen.

The surname Tan Tai is not a common one, so it is hard for Su Lijin not to think of Tan Tai Chun.

What's more, Tan Tai Zixun seems to have some similarities with Tan Tai Chun in appearance.

Su Lijin was a little curious about this person and couldn't help but want to find out more about him.

If you have questions, the best and fastest way to find out is to ask the person himself.

She and Tan Tai Zixun did not know each other, so it would be inappropriate to ask rashly. However, she was different from Tan Tai Chun. This man was now her old friend, so it would not be a big deal to bother him.

Just as I was thinking about it, I looked up and saw the gate of Yaoyue Palace in front of me. I stepped in without thinking.

Arriving at Yaoyue Palace, Su Lijin first went to sit in the upper room, then gave an order and asked the servants to call Tan Tai Chun.

When Tan Tai Chun approached, he saw the woman in front of him eating the best fruits from Yaoyue Palace with a very contented look on her face. She had her servants make tea with the best tea leaves and she was sipping the tea very elegantly.

"When did you develop a hobby of drinking tea?" he joked.

Although she drinks tea often, Su Lijin rarely does such a formal tea tasting.

Hearing this, Su Lijin turned to look at him and said with a smile, "Come, come, have some tea."

She smiled very earnestly. Tan Tai Chun suddenly had a premonition that she was plotting against him. He immediately stopped drinking his tea and asked directly, "Your Majesty, please speak up."

After finishing the fruit in her hand, Su Lijin waved her hand, asking the people from Yaoyue Palace to leave, and then she spoke: "Tan Tai Chun, do you have any brothers or sisters in your family?"

As soon as she said this, Tan Tai Chun seemed to have thought of something, and there was a look of understanding on his face.

"It seems that the queen has heard something."

Seeing his expression, Su Lijin didn't beat around the bush: "Yes, I met Tan Tai Zixun. He is now the Prime Minister. Do you have any connection with Tan Tai Zixun?"

"To be honest, that's my elder brother."

"Huh? Is that your eldest brother?"

This result was almost expected, but she was still a little surprised.

She looked Tan Tai Chun up and down, and said with a tut-tut sound, "You know what, there really is some resemblance. But, Tan Tai Chun, your brother was appointed Prime Minister, the head of all officials. This is such a high achievement. Tut-tut, why didn't you follow him into the officialdom?"

Before he finished speaking, Tan Tai Chun's face darkened. "I've lived under his shadow since I was a child. Now, do I have to become an official and fall under his jurisdiction?"

It turns out that Tan Tai Chun and his brother have been compared since childhood. No matter how well Tan Tai Chun does, Tan Tai Zixun is always at a level that he can never reach no matter how hard he tries.

Everyone said that Tan Tai Chun was not as smart and capable as his brother. After hearing it so many times, he felt that he would probably have to live under his brother's shadow for the rest of his life.

After hearing this story, Su Lijin smiled and said, "I never thought that a well-known person in the martial arts world would have such a tragic childhood..."

These words immediately angered Tan Tai Chun. He stood up and said, "Your Majesty, I dare not refute what you have said. However, from now on, I will not get involved in anything. Farewell."

As he said this, he seemed to be ready to leave and no longer help Su Lijin.

Su Lijin smiled and hurriedly stopped him, coaxing, "Hey, don't go. This palace is just joking. Don't take it seriously. Speaking of which, you two brothers, one in the court and the other in the martial arts world, this is the best arrangement."

As she spoke, she pulled Tan Tai Chun and accidentally knocked over the teacup on the table.

The tea spilled onto the ground, and suddenly a puff of white smoke rose up. When I looked again, I saw that the ground had been corroded and riddled with holes.

The two were stunned.

"This water is poisonous!" Before Su Lijin could say anything, Tan Tai Chun clenched his fists and immediately called the servant who had just poured the water.

Looking at the ground, Su Lijin couldn't help swallowing. If she hadn't accidentally spilled the water during the struggle, she would have already drunk the glass of water.

The ground was corroded and riddled with holes, so if she really drank it, her intestines would be ruptured and she would bleed to death from all seven orifices.

What a vicious mind!

She was still a little frightened and looked at the person who poured the water.

The person was a young girl. Seeing this, she waved her hands hurriedly: "I didn't know the water was poisonous. I didn't poison it."

Her face was pale, and she was obviously frightened. At this time, her explanation was a little incoherent.

"You really don't know where this poison comes from?" Su Lijin asked.

Tears welled up in the little girl's eyes as she repeatedly asked, "Really, Palace Master, I really don't know. How could I possibly have poisoned you?"

The two of them stared at her for a long while, then looked at each other. Tan Tai Chun waved his hand and said, "Alright, go down."

"It seems that she really doesn't know." she said.

The little girl's expression just now was quite natural, and she looked like she was frightened normally, not like someone who had poisoned someone.

Tan Tai Chun nodded: "No matter what, let's investigate further in Yaoyue Palace first."

After waiting for everyone to go down, he called people over to investigate in Yaoyue Palace.

However, nothing was found.

Facing this result, Su Lijin wondered, "Could it be that someone has sneaked into Yaoyue Palace?"

Almost everyone in Yaoyue Palace was checked, but these people didn't seem to have any hidden agenda. Could it be that someone sneaked in, poisoned the place, and then left?

Or, where did he hide after sneaking in?

She couldn't help but doubt.

Just as Tan Tai Chun was about to answer, a report came from outside saying that someone from the National Medical Hall had arrived.
