Chapter 107 Angry Birds

Although the distance was quite far, Jiang Yimian could still see the extra carriages in the mountain stronghold, a total of seven.

The carts carried by the horses were piled high with goods, and the bandits were carrying large boxes into the house; these must have been goods robbed from passing caravans.

Judging from this, they caught a big fish.

The fact that caravans are still traveling along this mountain road proves that the news of the bandits probably hasn't spread far, and is only known to a few people in Qingshui County.

Jiang Yimian glanced at the scene and was about to leave when she saw several bandits carrying a number of people in.

The bandits picked up their knives to kill the men, but after hearing what the bound men said, they put down their knives and took the men away instead.

Jiang Yimian glanced at it a few times and then left.

On the way, he kept thinking about the government's suppression of bandits, but after thinking for a long time, he still couldn't figure out what the government would do.

I reckon they'll just attack directly.

However, the bandits' location was easy to defend and difficult to attack. They were backed by a series of mountains, and several nearby roads were blocked by high sand and gravel. If the government officials came, the people on the watchtower would probably notice them.

Suppressing bandits is a real headache for the government.

However, she did come up with a good idea.

Previously, out of concern for Wang Fengqin and the children, and because his own health and strength had not yet recovered, he was not confident in dealing with the bandits and did not want to put himself in danger, so he never thought of having a direct conflict with the bandits.

Now that their strength has been largely restored, Wang Fengqin and the others can hide in the small depression without being discovered, and she no longer has any worries.

However, the bandits have already caught the attention of the authorities, and if they all die overnight, the officials might think they have encountered a monster.

Instead, they will begin to doubt the situation on the mountain.

She decided to remain still for now and see how the government would handle the situation, then provide some small assistance later.

It can both eliminate bandits and conceal oneself.

Just then, I heard a weak voice, as if calling for help.

Jiang Yimian frowned slightly, looked at the woods where traps were set, took out a curved dagger, and carefully entered the woods.

As soon as she entered the woods, the weak voice grew louder. Jiang Yimian carefully walked towards the source of the sound, and when she looked down, she met the eyes of a listless, dispirited boy in the deep pit.

Perhaps because he had been in the pit for a long time, the boy's eyes had lost their luster, and his face was covered with mud and red marks from tree branches, making him look rather disheveled.

As soon as Lin Yan'an saw the person, his previously lifeless eyes lit up. He immediately stopped lying in the pit pretending to be dead, sat up, and said excitedly, "Miss, help me! Please help me up! I have important things to do."

Despite having important matters to attend to, the boy showed no sign of urgency, wiping the mud off his face while tidying his bright red clothes.

Jiang Yimian's lips twitched involuntarily. Where did this showy guy come from?

Just as he was hesitating whether to rescue the person first or find out who the person was, a murderous gaze suddenly came from behind him.

Jiang Yimian frowned and looked behind her, but saw nothing.

The boy at the bottom of the pit couldn't hold back any longer and shouted, "Hey, if you save me, I'll give you money."

Jiang Yimian raised an eyebrow, glanced at the other person's clothes, and judged that he should be a young master from a wealthy family before casually saying, "Thirty taels."

Lin Yan'an immediately widened his eyes and said irritably, "Are you asking for an exorbitant amount? Thirty taels? Why don't you just rob me?"

Jiang Yimian simply shrugged and made a move to leave.

She didn't care much; it was just thirty taels of silver.

This person, however, is in a rather pitiful state; he has to stay and be fed to the wild animals.

Lin Yan'an became anxious and hurriedly said, "Alright, alright, thirty taels it is, just get me upstairs quickly."

He'd been stuck in this pit for hours, from the first light of dawn until now, and he was practically frozen to death. If this person didn't save him now, probably no one else would come to this deep mountain forest. He'd either freeze to death or be killed by the wolves in the mountains.

He could hear many wolf howls in the woods, which was quite frightening.

Jiang Yimian then casually cut a long vine, tied one end to a tree next to the pit, and threw the other end into the pit.

She concealed herself and immediately hid behind a tree.

Looking at the vines, Lin Yan'an was so moved that he almost cried on the spot. If it weren't for the bandits down the mountain, he would have rushed up the mountain in a panic, walked for several hours, almost broke his legs, and even fell into this trap.

He grabbed the vine, stepped on the pit wall beside him, and huffed and puffed as he climbed out of the pit, almost exhausting himself.

As soon as he poked his head out of the deep pit, before he could even breathe in the fresh air, a wolf with glowing green eyes pounced on him.

Startled, he screamed, his hand slipped, and he fell back into the deep pit, seeing stars.

Taking advantage of the wolf's missed attack, Jiang Yimian immediately appeared from behind the tree, swiftly dispatching the lone wolf with a swift stroke of her knife.

Having averted the danger, Jiang Yimian looked down into the pit again. "Are you alright?"

Lin Yan'an glanced at the person above in horror before shouting, "You did this on purpose, didn't you? You used me as bait to lure out the wolf. I'm not giving you any money."

He was almost scared to death just now; that was a fully grown wild wolf! If it hadn't missed, he would have been bitten to death instantly.

This girl looks so gentle and weak, but I never expected her to be so cruel and vicious.

What if he goes up there and this guy takes care of him too?

But if he doesn't leave quickly, what will happen to the other people in the mansion and those goods?

Just as she was hesitating, she heard Jiang Yimian's indifferent voice, "If you're not coming up, then I'll cut these vines."

As she spoke, she took out a dagger and began cutting the vines, which made Lin Yan'an feel a sharp pain in her heart. "No, don't cut it, I, I'll come up right now."

That guy is ruthless. He was thinking of sneaking up after everyone left, but now he's been completely blocked.

Just as he was about to reach out and grab the vine, Jiang Yimian pulled it away and said indifferently, "Give me the money first."

Given what this guy just said, she was a little worried that he would deny everything right away.

Lin Yan'an was so angry he almost went crazy. If he hadn't needed someone's help, he would have cursed them out.

He is the young master of the Lin family, a man of his word. How could he possibly do something so inconsistent? What kind of person is he?

Seeing the people below scratching their heads in anger, Jiang Yimian remained calm and unmoved. She felt that the boy was like an angry bird, both in his frantic appearance and his color.

Lin Yan'an took a deep breath for a while before picking up a small stone from the bottom of the pit. He then took out several silver notes from his pocket, selected a thirty-tael note, wrapped the stone, and threw it at Jiang Yimian.
