Chapter 560 It's better to just surrender

Jiang Yimian paused, met those eyes that seemed to be glistening with tears, and after a long while said, "I'll give it a try."

After saying that, he left the tent.

The number of patrolling soldiers outside had been reduced by more than half after the city garrison's clearing operations, but the tents where provisions were stored were still heavily guarded.

In the quiet military camp, no one has noticed anything unusual yet.

Jiang Yimian hesitated for a moment, then walked toward the largest tent in the very center.

Before she even got close, she saw a patrol of soldiers walking towards her.

She quickly hid behind the tent.

But the next second, they heard shouts from the Xiliang people not far away: "Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"

Jiang Yimian only frowned, not expecting to be discovered so quickly.

Seeing that many patrolling soldiers were rushing over, she took advantage of the chaos to rush into the largest tent.

Zawu was lying on top of the woman on the bed when he suddenly heard shouts from outside. He immediately grabbed the clothes from the bed and put them on.

However, the next second, a gust of wind hit my ear.

He quickly bent down, rolled away to avoid the attack, grabbed the curved knife on the table, and started fighting with Jiang Yimian.

The person in bed was terrified by the scene before them, huddled in the corner watching the sudden turn of events with tears still wet on their face.

Jiang Yimian simply said, "Go and meet up with your sister, hurry up."

Upon hearing this, the little girl suddenly realized something, hurriedly put on her clothes, and tried to run outside.

Zawu coldly shouted, "Where did this ignorant fool come from, daring to snatch people from my camp?"

As he spoke, he reached out to grab the little girl.

Jiang Yimian, however, took the dagger in her hand and stabbed it directly into Zha Wu's back.

Zawu felt a sharp pain in his back and shouted, "Help! There's an assassin! Help!"

He shouted as he dodged Jiang Yimian's attacks.

The little girl had already disappeared without a trace.

At that moment, a large number of Xiliang soldiers poured in from outside.

Jiang Yimian knew something was wrong, dodged Zha Wu's broadsword, and rushed straight out of the tent.

The sounds of fighting could be clearly heard not far away, but the easternmost part remained as quiet as ever.

Jiang Yimian frowned, a sense of crisis rising in her heart. She wanted to slip away to check the situation, but the curved blade behind her was already thrusting towards her, blocking her path.

She had no choice but to snatch the curved knife from the person next to her and engage in a fierce fight with the Xiliang people, her words filled with sarcasm.

"I had long heard that the vanguard of Xiliang was an elite force and had always wanted to see it, but now I am only disappointed. They are just a bunch of filthy bastards who only know how to bully women."

"General Zha'u, it seems you'll find it rather difficult to take Weizhou. Perhaps you should just surrender."

As soon as he finished speaking, he slashed off a man's head with his curved sword.

Blood spurted out, and the head fell to the ground and rolled to Zawu's feet.

The soldier stared wide-eyed, mouth agape, with a mixture of disbelief and inexplicable mockery.

Zawu was furious. He kicked the head away and cursed, "What are you? How dare you try to assassinate me? I'll see if you can still be so stubborn later."

"Guards! Kill her!"

As he spoke, he snatched the horn from the soldier beside him and blew it loudly.

Instantly, the sound of bugles rang out throughout the entire military camp, and many Xiliang people gathered from all directions.

However, there was no movement in many of the tents; the people there seemed to be fast asleep and hadn't heard a sound.

Zawu frowned, sensing something was amiss.

But Jiang Yimian's mocking laughter interrupted his thoughts.

"I've long heard of General Zau's reputation on the battlefield, so why is he hiding in the background today? I bet all your famous deeds are fake."

Jiang Yimian watched as more and more people gathered around her, and many of the city guards were killed on the ground, but Wang San still did not make any move, so she couldn't help but feel worried.

These people from Xiliang were even more formidable than they had imagined.

She has to draw their fire, otherwise, it will be difficult to succeed in supplying the supplies.

Thinking about it, her mocking voice grew even louder, "I've heard that the military uniforms worn by you Xiliang people represent the number of enemies killed on the battlefield, but to me they seem nothing special."

You people from Xiliang wouldn't be deliberately trying to deceive the world like this, would you?

"Last night you lost to the defenders of Weizhou City, tonight you will surely lose to me, and I will cut off your heads."

With that, she leaped forward, stepping on the heads of the Xiliang people, and pounced directly towards Zhawu.

Seeing this, Zawu snorted coldly and cursed, "Overestimating yourself! Today I'll show you whether my illustrious reputation is real or not."

After saying that, he raised the large knife in his hand and slashed at Jiang Yimian with all his might.

Although I don't know where these people came from, they must be related to Weizhou City. They're dreaming if they think they can do anything to him.

Xie Yi, that fool, really only knows how to come up with the worst possible strategies. Why would he send someone to the Xiliang army camp to assassinate him? What's the difference between that and coming to their death?

He wanted to see what this woman was capable of, daring to speak so arrogantly.

Thinking it over, he just squinted at the person getting closer and closer to him.

Soldiers who had just woken up in their tents nearby saw the situation and, before they could react, quickly picked up their bows and arrows and shot them at Jiang Yimian.

Upon seeing this, the twins knew something was wrong and quickly pounced towards Jiang Yimian.

Several arrows immediately flew towards Jiang Yimian, but she ignored them and slashed at Zha Wu without dodging or avoiding them.

Zawu merely sneered, raising his broadsword, ready to deliver a fatal blow.

Unexpectedly, a handful of powder was smeared all over his face, instantly blurring his vision and rendering him unable to move. He felt an intense pain in his eyes.

Jiang Yimian sensed something was wrong. When she turned around, she found that the Xiliang people behind her were only stopped by the twins and the city guards, and there were several arrows stuck in their bodies.

Arrows pierced their bodies, but their swords did not stop for a moment as they fought fiercely against the Xiliang people.

Jiang Yimian frowned immediately, her heart stirred slightly, but she knew that now was not the time to care about them. She continued to fight with the Xiliang soldiers while mocking, "General Zha Wu probably doesn't know anything about pharmacology. He's done for now. He's been poisoned by me and probably won't see the sun tomorrow."

"Then I've achieved my goal for this trip. Time to leave."

Having said that, he swiftly killed the Xiliang man in front of him and leaped into the forest.

Seeing this, the twins quickly followed Jiang Yimian's steps and ran into the forest.

Zawu covered his eyes and shouted, "Guards! Guards! Execute this person on the spot and make her produce the antidote!"

I'll make sure she suffers a terrible death. Guards, seize this slut!"

He never expected that coward Xie Yi would resort to such a desperate measure, daring to send someone to assassinate him.

These people are thinking too simply. Even if he dies, the Xiliang soldiers will not let Weizhou go.

But for now, he doesn't want to die, so these people can just wait to die.

He will make them pay the price.
