Chapter 78 Liu Xiaofei Gets a Lesson

Liu Dafei and his wife hurriedly followed, but they were still not as fast as Liu Xiaofei.

Liu Xiaofei pulled Heiwa down the slope, tumbling and crawling all the way, leaving them more than ten meters behind.

Seeing that the person had already reached the front of the house, Li Xiaofang kept cursing and urging, "Dafei, hurry up and go down, don't let that shameless guy get there first."

Liu Dafei responded, but he didn't dare to roll down like Liu Xiaofei, who was reckless. He could only drag his injured leg and slowly run down.

When the couple arrived, Liu Xiaofei and his son were already carrying a cloth bag and two dead rabbits.

Liu Xiaofei was somewhat smug. His eyes, already squinted into slits due to his bruised and swollen face, seemed completely closed. His words were full of condescension: "There's a rabbit inside too."

Li Xiaofang hurriedly ran into the wooden house.

The cabin wasn't big; you could see everything inside at a glance. Apart from the bed and table, there was only a skinny rabbit in a basket by the door.

She picked up the rabbit and yanked open the neatly folded thin quilt on the wooden bed. Then she lifted the stack of several small baskets and found them all empty. Enraged, she kicked over the bamboo baskets and rushed out, yelling, "Liu Xiaofei, have you no shame? This wooden house was discovered by my husband. How could you embezzle so much stuff? Hand over the rice now!"

Although Liu Xiaofei hid it well, she had just heard the sound of the rice bag rattling. The bag must be full of rice, probably about twenty pounds, enough for them to eat for quite a while.

Liu Xiaofei simply held the cloth bag in his hand even tighter and said irritably, "First come, first served."

He grabbed Heiwa and tried to run away, but Liu Dafei blocked their path. Just as they were locked in a stalemate, they heard a cold voice.

"Put your things down and get out of here."

The group was startled and immediately looked at the newcomer. Seeing that it was just a handsome young boy, their worries vanished instantly.

Liu Xiaofei just smiled and said, "Young man, if you know what's good for you, you'd better leave quickly. This food and house are ours now, and you alone are no match for us."

As soon as he finished speaking, his gaze fell on the pheasant the boy was holding, and his eyes widened immediately.

Are the prey in these mountains so easy to catch? Even the hunters from the village used to often come up empty-handed when they went up the mountain. But this kid is lucky; he hasn't even finished eating the wild rabbit in the house yet, and he's already brought back a few pheasants.

If he follows this guy, he'll have an endless supply of wild game to eat.

The thought of eating meat at every meal excited him. He shoved Liu Dafei aside, walked towards Lu Cijian, and said with a smile, "Young man, I can hunt too. How about we..."

Before he could finish speaking, Lu Cijian drew his bow, nocked a sharpened bamboo arrow, and shot it.

The sound of something cutting through the air rang out.

Liu Xiaofei was startled when he saw the object shooting towards him. He couldn't dodge in time, and the bamboo arrow pierced his hand holding the rice bag with a "plop".

He cried out in pain and dropped the bag of rice.

"Hey, what are you doing? You little brat, are you looking for death? Believe me or not, I'll kill you."

Liu Xiaofei was so angry that his eyes widened, and he took a few steps forward, ready to pounce on the other party.

He refused to believe that being bullied by bandits and refugees was bad enough, but now even a little kid who hadn't even grown his first hair dared to lay a hand on him.

However, as soon as he arrived in front of Lu Cijian, before he could even touch her, he was kicked to the ground. The pain was so intense that he saw stars and couldn't get up for a long time, only able to cry out on the ground.

Lu Cijian didn't even glance at the person on the ground. He simply drew back his bow, nocked an arrow, and said coldly, "Put the things down."

When Heiwa and Li Xiaofang saw Liu Xiaofei's hand, which was pierced by a bamboo arrow and bleeding profusely, they were so frightened that they quickly dropped what they were holding and hid behind Liu Xiaofei.

Liu Dafei was so frightened that his legs went weak. Looking at the sharp arrow, he swallowed hard and quickly explained, "Young brother, don't be impulsive. This is all a misunderstanding."

"I'm from Xinghua Village at the foot of the mountain. We heard that some villagers were hiding in these mountains, so we came to look for them. We mistook this wooden house for someone from the village. I'll leave with them right now."

After saying that, he grabbed the person and tried to leave.

This guy doesn't look like someone to mess with; he's like those mountain bandits, excessively fierce.

Even if we kill them in this desolate wilderness, no one will know. It's best to leave as soon as possible.

Lu Cijian frowned slightly and said coldly, "If you take another step, I will kill you right now."

For some reason, he thought of the girl he had seen by the hot spring last time, and felt that these people in front of him were related to the people in the small depression.

Liu Dafei was so frightened by the sharp bamboo arrow that his legs went weak and he stood frozen in place, too afraid to move.

He was filled with regret for coming to steal things. What kind of kind person could someone who could live in the deep mountains and forests all this time?

This guy is incredibly accurate with his bow and arrow; if he dares to run, he'll surely die on the way.

Having barely survived the bandits, I can't just die here.

The more he thought about it, the more frightened he became. He watched as the other person walked towards them, and his legs went weak, causing him to fall to the ground. He begged for mercy repeatedly, "Young man, please don't do anything. We'll do anything you want, just don't kill us."

Lu Cijian simply tied the group to the tree, put the rice bag and rabbit back into the wooden house, and left.

The three were terribly panicked, and Heiwa was crying miserably beside them. Unfortunately, the rope was too tight, and they couldn't move at all. All they could do was shout for help.

*

When Lu Cijian arrived at the small depression, Jiang Yimian was playing with Mimi under the eaves.

I spotted a figure from afar, assuming it was someone from the small depression, and didn't pay much attention. Only when I got closer did I realize it was someone I knew.

Zhao Dashu and his men, holding hoes, blocked Lu Cijian's path, asking warily, "Who are you? How did you get here?"

This little depression is very well hidden; how could anyone find the way without a guide? Yet this person came alone in broad daylight. Could there be a traitor in this little depression?

Just as the three were beginning to suspect each other, they heard Jiang Yimian say, "I know him, no need to rush."

Lu Cijian's tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed the moment he saw Jiang Yimian, and he paused for a moment when his gaze fell on her.

He felt that the girl in front of him seemed to have grown taller.

Last time by the hot spring, it was evening, and then...

He dared not look too closely, but then he noticed that the girl had not only grown taller, but had also become slimmer, and her face had become fuller, making her look fair and pretty.

Wearing a green dress, she looked like a graceful fairy in the forest.

Seeing that the other person was looking at her, Jiang Yimian asked curiously, "What's wrong? What brings you here today?"

This person looks extremely aloof, clearly disliking being disturbed or disturbing others; there must be something he wants to do here today.

Could it be that you want Mimi back?

Lu Cijian withdrew his gaze and said calmly, "A few people came to my place, saying they were from Xinghua Village. I guess you should know them."

Otherwise, he would have kicked them out immediately.
