Chapter 157 Uncertain Changes
Pandora couldn't remember when she came out of the picture frame. Anyway, the arrogant artist kept warning her that there weren't many normal people in Eoubs. People were only good at drinking, taking drugs, and having sex with good-looking guys. So she had better stay inside—a miniature Jerusalem template was enough for her to play with.
Please, she came from a distorted world, not some little kid who gets lost in a garden.
Then, she didn't remember when she was dragged out, nor how she lost consciousness. When she came to, she found herself lying on an experimental table, surrounded by simple transparent isolation sheets, a scene somewhat reminiscent of the one created by Weeks's idiotic AI.
At that moment, Pandora suddenly remembered that a long time ago, when she upset Lilith, she had the same result: she was tied to some place—an altar or a pillar—and the other person mocked her, saying that once she could really behave and be a good girl, she would have some means to survive.
She saw someone take out several golden capsules, open them, pour the powder into a syringe, and then walk over.
At the same time, someone pressed her head down tightly and said with a sinister smile in her ear, "What a pitiful child. Don't worry, we'll make you carefree."
Pandora suddenly snapped back to reality. She was sitting in the passenger seat of the car, with He Yu beside her. They were driving somewhere, and she glanced at the satellite navigation system—the destination was marked as a suburban estate.
She was then horrified to discover that she was only wearing a coat, her dress was so dirty it looked like she had rolled in a mud pit, and her hair was a mess.
She felt a bit cold again, looked down, and realized that she was barefoot, her shoes and socks were nowhere to be found, and both thighs were bound with bandages. She had no recollection of when she was injured, and there was some blood seeping out from the wound.
He Yu turned his head and glanced at it, saying unsurprisedly, "You were forcibly pulled out of the picture frame. It was a kind of layer separation technology from the No. 2 fluctuation layer, the place you and 252 saw when you jumped through space."
Pandora looked around blankly, then at him, and asked uncertainly, "Who the hell are you?"
“I had Mellink draw back all the personalities you lost.”
He said this, while choosing not to answer the question that sounded stupid.
“I don’t quite understand.” Pandora paused for a moment, took a breath, and tried to keep her breathing in sync. “You mean, someone fucking wants to brainwash me into being an idiot?”
"Yes."
She sat there for a while, feeling a tightness in her chest, and then tried to piece together the fragmented memories, but obviously failed—the effects of the suppressant hadn't completely worn off. The researchers had initially thought the people in the salon wanted to play some R-rated games, so they had increased the dosage to the maximum—who could have imagined that not long after the banquet began, He Yu would go on a killing spree and devour them all alive.
Then, she nervously started to unwrap the bandages and rubbed her leg wounds hard, making them a bloody mess again—Pandora felt she should be more subtle and express her anger quietly… but who the hell could stand it!
She instinctively tried to gather her hair up, but couldn't find a suitable headband. She searched everywhere for a long time, her anger finding nowhere to vent. Finally, she grabbed He Yu's shirt, tore off a strip, and finally managed to tie her hair up.
The other party didn't react at all, just letting her act up.
Pando was trembling all over. The more awake she became, the more she could feel the pain of the drugs churning in her bone marrow—but she managed to endure it. She glared at He Yu, thinking, "Damn... why is he pretending to be cool? It feels different, it just feels different. It looks weird no matter how you look at it."
She suddenly pinched a piece of flesh on the man's waist, the movement so forceful it seemed she was trying to tear something off completely.
“Stop the car, I want to go home,” Pandora said.
After five seconds of silence.
He Yu stopped in the middle of the road. The latter immediately got out of the car, stumbled a few steps, and then suddenly bent over and began to vomit. He didn't know what to say, and was too lazy to say more, so he simply handed her a bottle of water to rinse her mouth.
After vomiting enough, Pandora reluctantly returned to the car. She tried to pull her clothes up; she looked too erotic. Anyone who didn't know better would think they had just finished sleeping together, and she looked like a crazy, irritable woman throwing a tantrum. But then she discovered that the button on her coat had popped off.
"Miss, do you need help?"
Just then, a sleek muscle car pulled up beside them. The driver rolled down the window and asked seriously, "If you..."
Without even looking, He Yu pushed Pandora back and threw a grenade in.
With the sound of an explosion, he started the car again, and the child suddenly said, "You are not He Yu at all."
"Then just pretend I'm not."
His voice was steady and cold.
"You used to kill people too, but... you've changed, damn it! You absorbed 346, and I'm a part of it, how could I not know?!"
“Of course you know, and that hero who just intervened also knows, and he really wants to sleep with you.” He Yu glanced at her, as if witnessing a disaster: “Do you need me to change reality and bring that noble person back?”
Pandora glared at him fiercely, unconsciously clutching her clothes. After a long while, she said again, "I'm going to kill them, those idiots in the lab."
