Chapter 192 Waiting for You in My Dreams

Chapter 193 Waiting for You in My Dreams

Sheen stared at them expressionlessly—Lu Jin almost laughed, but held it back. She appeared slightly taken aback by what she heard, though it was impossible to tell from the outside—she gave the four of them a strange smile.

“We all understand, interrogators, that I, or rather Mr. Lu, have no need to answer your so-called investigation questions.” After she finished speaking, her expression showed undisguised disgust. Then she turned around, pulled Lu Jin, and walked out. The crowd of onlookers immediately made way for them.

Those men persisted and followed, one of them whispering from behind, "Ms. Sheen, I know you're furious. But we have the evidence, both of you. I really hope you can cooperate as much as possible. Although everyone knows operatives aren't exactly clean, and you're Eoubs's people, the people in the salon aren't people you can just kill off—"

"And then what? Show me your documents, that special investigation order?" Sheen stopped and stared at him—clearly she was provoked; when women are serious, they like to reason with you.

To avoid complicating matters further, Lu Jin pulled her away without looking back. They then heard the interrogator behind them say, "These were personally signed by those people in the salon. We also have a permit to control potentially unstable populations..."

"I've never heard of such a thing before, and besides, what the hell is that? Don't play innocent with me."

They weren't taken away after all, and the subsequent nonsense was dispelled. During the period when the theory of repayment erupted, all sorts of meaningless arrests and investigations were rampant. Those in power always sent their assistants or agents to conduct the talks. Theoretically speaking... it wasn't a big deal; in the end, it was just a matter of arresting a few unlucky people to make up the numbers.

At least low-level brawls or drunkenly killing someone they don't like goes unpunished.

Lu Jin pulled Xi En away from the crowd and opened several control rooms in a row, only to find that there were people working inside. He was so tired of apologizing that he simply dragged her to his room.

“I hope I’m not overthinking it, but they investigated very thoroughly and have evidence.” He said, blocking out any suspicious signals around him, and continued, “I guess these guys really do know something.”

“You don’t need to worry about it. I’ve cleaned up the scene perfectly. Even if they find out, they can’t do anything to us.” Sheen’s hands didn’t stop moving—she was unpacking another batch of hallucinogenic drugs.

She reached out and brought up the holographic screen, setting aside a section for Lu Jin, then went to find new videos on the forum. The four interrogators didn't follow, clearly realizing that continuing the interrogation wouldn't get them any favors from Sheen, and had already left.

"Do you think they might set up a special task force or something?" Lu Jin asked, leaning closer with his wine glass in hand.

“Haha, you’re so funny. I think they’re more concerned about whether we actually slept together.” Sheen stared at the dozens of split screens, his voice becoming very soft—the drug was starting to take effect.

He sighed, thinking about what to say, but then chose to remain silent.

Finally, Lu Jin said, "Then let's watch the new repayment video."

They searched for recent and all things related to the "repayment theory" and found nearly 500 new posts—the information of which was downright horrifying.

There's no clear information about the killers on the forum yet, but various details point to them being members of Eoubs, and most likely from the salon itself—in just a few hours, two prominent heads of the Asian branch disappeared, as did the Americas and the EU; they even lost an entire core member of their branch council. These weren't just some nobody; they just vanished like that.

The lower classes, however, were gloating, pontificating on the forums. They said that Eoubs was now a truly conscientious organization contributing to humanity, like a black hole suddenly born in the center of a bustling universe, from which only fragments of life flowed, or chilling images of death that would make even the higher-ups' scalps tingle. You couldn't fathom it, yet you were acutely aware of its existence. Perhaps one second you were walking on flat ground, and the next you would fall into an abyss, swallowed by the evil consequences of your own actions.

The number of registered members grew like crazy. Most people there said that the goal of the repayment campaign was actually very slow, and they had to carefully select from the list—it was like a slow poison, silently seeping into the veins and spreading, and the whole world became the stage for this revenge.

Although several important figures had died before, it was far from enough.

Lu Jin refreshed the page and found a new video. As soon as he clicked on it, he heard someone laughing and saying, "I told you, it's not just those trashy guys down there who have good toys. The salons in Dongxia, the parliaments in America, or the roundtables built by those sons of bitches in Europe. If you put in the effort to train them, put those high-class, exquisite toys under the right lights, fucking... that would definitely keep me hard for a long time—"

The screen was completely black. These days, hacking skills are terrifying, and no one dares to show their face—after all, there was a previous example, and the facts proved that the bastard was indeed overconfident.

The people in the video clearly didn't think there was anything wrong with what they said, and Lu Jin and the others were used to it. Small fish eat shrimp, big fish eat small fish.

He looked down and continued scrolling, trying to find information related to the Mirror of Eternal Dreams.

Sheen moved closer silently, then suddenly raised his hand and pressed something on his neck—a connection device—before saying, "I have a good idea."
