Chapter 290 The Madman
Three minutes passed.
Hamilton waited for a while, but Mickelson, who was in front of him, just stared blankly at Bell, as if what he had just said had popped out of a dream, and then fell silent.
The atmosphere suddenly became somewhat awkward.
Zelda and the others were completely baffled, wondering if this guy had been scared out of his wits. With a knife to his throat, couldn't he at least show some reaction? Even if he fought back, we could at least get some entertainment.
Hamilton was also puzzled. Logically speaking, he had already demonstrated a level of strength far exceeding that of the other operatives. Although this person's character was better than the other useless ones, he shouldn't have sought his own death at this critical juncture.
"I see."
"Was the time too short?"
"It seems you need some motivation."
“From now on, I will begin an indiscriminate massacre starting with Zelda, until you remove that so-called death node.”
Upon hearing this, Zelda was completely taken aback, spilling the hallucinogenic drug he had just opened, because he felt like he was about to ascend to heaven any second.
No...no.
“I have used the feature, and more than once.”
"But her point of death is impossible to move away from."
As Mike Rong spoke, he continued to stare at the dazed Bell, his eyes wide open as if lost in some dark sea. Catherine sneaked to the back of the group, thinking that these idiots actually believed that the demon god would treat people well. She was prepared to run away at any moment, while also thanking herself for her time-freezing ability; her escape skills were top-notch.
"Is it impossible to transfer them?"
"In my opinion, that's just an excuse."
Hamilton, somewhat skeptical, randomly picked someone and kicked him in front of Mickelson, ordering, "So, what if we change the target?"
What happened next was like a ghost story—the team leader, who had been bragging to his companions just a second ago, froze on the spot. Then, as if a frame had been pulled out of the picture, just as everyone felt something blurry past their eyes, he simply disappeared from the spot.
"This is the result of a successful transfer."
"It's like using video editing software to completely erase a character's scenes."
"I've been trying to pull that crazy woman's dead spot towards me... but it's completely useless."
"I can feel that some more terrifying force is stopping me. If I force it, I'm afraid I'll die on the spot."
"I'm sorry, this has never happened before. If you don't believe me, you can just kill me right here."
Mikron replied in this way.
Upon receiving this answer, Hamilton pondered for a while before suddenly stepping forward and patting the other person on the shoulder with a pleased expression.
"You're very good."
"You are exactly the kind of talent I need."
"I was just joking when I said I'd kill you, relax, my dear friend."
"This is a unique way of showing goodwill that we Europeans use. You'll get used to it once you've been under my wing for a while."
Zelda and Katherine cursed his entire family in their hearts but dared not voice any objection. "Damn it, since we started organizing the team, you bastard have said you'd kill us twice already. Other leaders manipulate their subordinates, but you, you're directly threatening them with your lives! It's utterly outrageous!"
The atmosphere in the entire convoy became extremely serious. Although Mike Rong had escaped with his life, he had suffered considerable backlash due to repeatedly using that special ability, though he hadn't shown it yet.
Belle sat alone on the ground, seemingly lost in some kind of delusion. She looked up at Hamilton, momentarily wondering who he was and how he had appeared before her—he withdrew his smile and stared back at her with a gloomy expression.
"Bell Hera?"
"It sounds familiar."
"Which division's operative are you?"
Hamilton had thoroughly reviewed the list of all the Siberian reinforcements before setting off, but he didn't have much of an impression of this madwoman—perhaps her information had been specially encrypted by Eoubs. Those with overly strong personalities always enjoyed some privileges, and this woman in front of him might just be one of them.
Moreover, this state of dementia, if managed properly, can be put to good use.
He patiently stepped forward, squatted down, and gently nudged Bell, saying slowly, "Listen, no matter which division's operative you are, our goal is the same—to escape the prison of the Mirror of Eternal Dreams."
"I'll accept these potions as part of the deal."
"However, being a bodyguard... really lowers my standards."
"I think it's more reliable for you to become my subordinate, but I need to test whether you are qualified."
Without any warning.
Bell suddenly burst into tears, while uttering some incomprehensible words.
"I...I've already come out."
"Why."
"Why am I still here? I escaped from Sunset Hill, but I'm trapped here again... This is terrible, this is really bad."
"Where's Sheen? Where did Sheen go?"
Belle stared at Hamilton for a while, crying and shouting, before finally realizing where she was—her state became even more frantic.
"Ah, I understand."
"This is another path."
"After coming out of the basement, this is the new testing ground. I didn't escape; it was all just my imagination."
"You are a false construct."
"You are all inferior products existing in two-dimensional space."
Hamilton glared at her, already feeling a bit irritated, and threatened viciously, "You crazy bitch, you actually know that particular explorer from America?"
Sheehan Connery.
What a big shot I haven't heard of in ages!
“Someone is eating your flesh and blood.”
"It's too noisy. I really wish it could be quieter."
Bell stopped looking at him and buried her head between her knees like a pathetic mentally challenged person.
"Fine."
"I bet you're just another useless card that Eoubs threw away, no different from the bunch of useless guys behind me."
“You’ve all rested enough, right? Zelda, distribute this medicine to them. After they’ve been injected, we’ll continue our journey to the board headquarters.”
After saying that, Hamilton pressed down on Bell's head and applied maximum gravity, intending to drive this madman completely into the earth's crust, turning him into a muddy mixture of flesh and blood.
Instantly, everyone retreated. They had witnessed this tactic in Sector N89 before; Joshua and Patrick had been turned into mincemeat in the same way. Now that he had raised his hand, they dared not get too close, lest they be caught in the crossfire.
However, to everyone's surprise...
