Chapter 333 Reversal

Chapter 334 Callback

Current time: 13:01:53.

America, New York.

Billionaire's Row Tower apartments.

After the meeting, Roy took some time to go on a field mission and brought back all the forbidden objects that had been deliberately released—sixteen or seventeen, he didn’t count them exactly—most of them were EDS-level, and one was an ACE. He had to temporarily create a parallel space for this, which took an extra five minutes.

He was now in the luxury apartment that had been given to Gore as a gift for his coming of age. The room was dark, but the light from countless screens shone on his face, making him look unreal, like a ghost formed from millions of data points, cold and dark, wanting to assimilate everything.

The control panel directly opposite Roy was marked with a special effect watermark of "Judgment Day," and the screen was filled with red light, like a bloodthirsty pupil wide open in the darkness. At the top was also marked with the bloody "Repayment Progress"—it was quite strange that the forum site established by Li Lin still existed. Perhaps there was a mole in Eoubs's access department.

Since the group entered the Mirror of Eternal Dreams, this was one of the many projects that the resistance had shelved for a long time. It was listed in the "Gray Path" category, and most of the research focused on how to find more powerful people to deal with their crimes.

—Where high-ranking officials reside, there are bound to be indescribable defense systems and measures. No matter how high the level of the operatives or equipment, the right to use those things is extremely expensive, but they are not short of money.

Roy thought to himself, "Of course—the people who dare to stand up against the whole of Eoubs must be rich, and they're still hiding in this network."

But the higher-ups remained unmoved.

Or rather, they always thought these freaks would wipe them out.

Roy quickly found the latest post on the forum about the parliamentary trial.

He stared at it for a while, then went to access the archives of the East Xia Salon and the European Knights. The webpage indicated that he needed to unlock a custom search program, and at the bottom there was a note that read, "We need no sacrifice, no dedication, only revenge, so that we may earn the sympathy of the gods."

Roy paused, pondered for a moment, and then entered a string of data codes known only to insiders—good bastard, the request was approved almost simultaneously with pressing the key.

That's a top-secret document code; if it gets leaked, those incompetent higher-ups will be in more pain than if they were dead.

But he remained calm and precise as he carried out these actions, his movements decisive and unwavering, as if he had merely sent a very simple letter home, and there were no issues with permissions. His eyes held only a bottomless indifference, the flickering and fading glow of the screen in that grayness, revealing a deep-seated detachment from everything.

Over the years in Eoubs, he had seen too many people sacrifice their lives for these things, and there was nothing worth regretting. Roy would never regret this action again; he always knew what was the right thing to do in the moment.

When he left that massive, cold institution and returned to his empty house in New York City... when he watched the revenge videos and experimental records, recalled the details of past control missions, drove through the city and across bridges, looking at this complex world that was not what it seemed, only one thing was on his mind: how can I make it not break so quickly?

He dedicated his life to the "great cause" of humanity, barely even attending his mother's cannibalistic banquets. But as Roy pondered the flaws, cruelty, despair, and death within the institution, a void deep within his mind, ready to devour his soul, began to spread.

Is there really any hope for this world?

Under the light of the screen, in Roy's calm eyes, there was only one thing he was unconsciously thinking about repeatedly—if there was no hope, what should I do?

Without a second's hesitation, all the thoughts, whether right or wrong, quickly coalesced and transformed into concrete actions.

Among the countless floating screens of trial teams, intelligence-stealing stations, and online distribution departments, the icons exclusive to those in authority also lit up simultaneously.

The screen displayed... an almost impossible number of logins; perhaps even more than any authority ever recorded in Eoubs' history. It's unclear who created the extra category, but it remained standing despite that login speed and managed to evade the access department's data tracking.

The revenge festivities were being broadcast live—and there was more than one person in the audience. Roy roughly counted at least a hundred unidentified individuals watching the show from behind their screens.

The topic is the privileged and powerful figures who just finished their meeting this morning.

Parliamentary projects discussed internally are always the independent property of those in power, forbidden from being divulged. Any code found by technical staff will be met with severe punishment. But clearly—the group at the "Judgment Day" forum possesses far more sophisticated technology. They extracted the participant list while simultaneously cleaning up all possible data fragments that might leave traces. Although the process was intermittent and frequently encountered error messages, they achieved their goal.

Roy opened the filtering program as prompted, and the next second a pop-up window appeared asking him to join a chat room. His headset automatically connected to the terminal, and he immediately heard noisy voices from all over the world.

And believe it or not, it's even more thoughtful – the forum can even automatically convert the audio to English.

He continued reading.

Clearly, half an hour ago, the repayment team on "Judgment Day" killed another high-ranking person. The messages on the entire panel were almost bursting out of the screen and kept refreshing.

"Good riddance! These Americans are used to running rampant, and seeing them get their comeuppance makes me genuinely happy, hehe!"

One anonymous user said this.

"The death scene was censored. They said some organs weren't suitable to be shown. I'm speechless... When did Judgment Day start using the 18+ method? I had to add a lot of mosaics to upload it. If you guys want to see it, type 1."

"Don't rush to arrest him. I saw Roy's name on the list?! This is going to be really interesting. Who in Eoubs' circle would dare to make a move against him?"

The other person then proceeded to announce the list of candidates for parliament.

"I'm just guessing it's He Yu, who's still in the Mirror of Eternal Dreams. I'm a huge fan of his."

"Fuck He Yu, I'm betting on Hamilton, okay? Only he can do it. When I first met this burly man, I told those in charge that he was an unpredictable force capable of destroying everything. This kind of person is a true master, no matter what kind of powerful figure he is—"

There was a sudden pause on the message board.

Just as Roy was getting confused.

The bedroom door rang.
