Chapter 340 Repayment Will Eventually Be Made

Chapter 341 The Repayment Will Eventually Come

Li Lin struggled to stand up and muttered to himself, "I had a nightmare... just a nightmare, that's all... that's it."

No one would pay him any attention. He was all alone, so there was no way someone would suddenly appear from the corner, mercifully drag him back to the throne, and then go get a medical kit to treat him.

Li Lin unconsciously raised his hand as if to grab something, and opened his mouth—wanting to call Yu Jianchu back to help him organize the plan, or to talk about who died at the salon today, or what some powerful person did, but he couldn't say anything.

The moment he realized something, all the words in his mind shattered, and his body went out of control... That memory remained hidden within him, desperate, bloody, and immense.

He's whole now, but someone... someone paid the price for it and kept saying, "I won't blame you." She was so damn great and noble that she deserved to be swallowed up by this hell.

Li Lin suddenly felt pain all over his body, as if he had been torn apart and then forcibly glued back together, and the process was very rough.

He shouldn't feel any pain, but he felt an inexplicable extreme fear, as if his brief sleep had quietly robbed him of something extremely important.

The plot then jumps again.

It always likes to jump.

Jump to the present situation.

On the other side of the world, it was already 8 p.m.

Billionaire's Row Tower.

Misaka Min was sitting on the outside of Roy's expensive table, a table that could cost an average family several years' worth of money, and eating a chicken leg.

She had already eaten dinner, but since it was a fast food lunchbox from Annie's convenience store, the taste was so bad that she decided to have an extra meal.

She ate idly for a while, and then Roy came out from the inner room, lit a cigarette for himself, and sat down.

"Oh, isn't this the great philanthropist who changed the entire world—the great A05 operative, Mr. Roy?" Misaka Min said unhurriedly as he watched the other person take a seat.

Her tone was, of course, somewhat sarcastic, and she was speaking proper English, so she wasn't worried that anyone wouldn't understand her.

“There have been enough unnecessary sacrifices already. Someone needs to step up and take the lead in reforming Eoubs.” Roy clearly understood that she was deliberately being sarcastic, but her tone remained very calm in her reply.

"I've sacrificed so much for the safety of all humanity, and yet I can't even get a decent meal. This is a new kind of sacrifice, isn't it?" Misaka Min spat out a bone and said viciously.

“I’m sorry, but because I’ve used my immunity to death privileges, my assets have been temporarily frozen.” Roy said, taking a sip of his tea, which had gone cold for a while, and continued, “Even this house is being maintained through an account under Gore’s name.”

The other person paused, carefully considered the meaning of the words, then looked around and said uncertainly, "You've worked at Eoubs for so long, and you haven't even saved any money?"

“I saved them, but I used them wisely. For example, the cup you were drinking coffee from just now was something I salvaged from a junkyard—well… I think it was originally found in a septic tank.”

Roy casually uttered something nauseating.

"Sure, if we're talking about saving money, then it has to be an honest official like you, damn it," Misaka Min replied with a forced smile. "You've really sacrificed too much for the great cause of resisting forbidden things."

Before Roy could answer, someone kicked the door open and entered the apartment.

"The topics that these two authorities, whose every stomp of their feet could shake the entire earth, are discussing are really quite pointless." He Yu carried in a bento box and walked in. "Speaking of which, I haven't eaten yet either. Could you please make room for me?"

"Oh my, isn't this the new generation genius who tore Joseph apart and trampled the salon elites underfoot?" Misaka Min was extremely sarcastic. She immediately looked up at He Yu and said loudly in a mocking tone, "He's so handsome, I'm almost wet."

“Alright, I’ve seen your file at ‘The Man Behind the Scenes.’ If we’re talking about who has the most outrageous conceptual traits, it has to be you and Bell.” He Yu said, tossing his bento box on the table, actually preparing to have dinner there: “I’ve almost cleaned up the mess at the Mirror of Eternal Dreams. Now that you’ve dealt with the uncertainties from the outside world, shouldn’t you come up with something else?”

“Indeed, the timing is about right.” Roy didn’t ask for details, but instead picked up the thread by asking, “Did the person behind it all ask you to pass on any message?”

"Nothing much, just a quick greeting to your whole family, and then he said he'd left you a crystal coffin," He Yu replied while eating his lunchbox. "Also, he said you'll most likely die in the second fluctuation layer, and the timeframe is about right."

"So when are you planning to go find 659?" Roy asked again.

“Then it depends on what Eoubs means now.” He Yu didn’t even look at it, picked up Misaka Min’s teacup and took a sip, and continued, “It doesn’t matter if I go alone, but some people’s fate is sealed, and they will die whether they want to or not. It depends on how effective your replacement is.”

“I understand.” Despite someone directly stating their own impending doom, Roy remained indifferent and calmly said, “No rush. We’ll regroup and head to Wave Layer 2 after the Mirror of Eternal Dreams is completely dismantled.”
