Chapter Seventy: Merlink

"I just... I just wish you guys wouldn't be so crazy..."

Pandora choked back tears, and after a long, long time, she broke down in uncontrollable sobs: "Is this request really that difficult?"

Then, all was silent.

The blood-stained gun and sword fell to the ground.

Andrew Lie's eyes widened, as if he were seeing some kind of creature that did not exist in the world appear before him.

At the same time, the aurora illuminated Pandora's face.

She felt a tremendous force pushing her backward from the ground, dragging her onto the platform, and then gently setting her down.

She sat there alone, raising her head blankly to look at what lay before her.

The silence was shattered by the heavy footsteps.

As if he had wandered onto the wrong set, a young man carrying a drawing board walked from the other end of the altar, staring at him, a charcoal pencil slipping from his sleeve and being caught precisely by his thumb.

He wore a light gray work uniform stained with various residual colors, and his eyes were also gray, like a waterfall, exuding endless weariness and laziness.

Because these kinds of people are very good at disguising themselves, pretending to be well-behaved, pretending to like things, pretending to be knowledgeable and sensible—it's an essential skill. He even has the face of someone who could be considered an innocent child, and his smile is completely convincing.

"Long time no see, Andrew. You're still the same as before, incredibly rude."

He approached the priest step by step, slowly and casually, as if he were not facing a monster addicted to killing, but a defective product of absurdly poor taste, which could not even be called art.

"We've filmed almost all the scenes we needed in three months, so we'll use you as our source material today."

The sound of breaking continued, growing more urgent, close to my ears, turning this place into a new battlefield.

That was a sign of death.

But Andrei remained frozen in place, staring blankly at him, watching the man who had died on the altar of Beelzebub walk toward him.

D01, Merlink.
