Chapter 33

Chapter 33

The doctor entered the nursing home's schedule into Shi Yu's tablet. After Shi Yu returned to the dormitory, she sat on the edge of the bed and took a look. She found that the course schedule here was much easier than when she was in school before.

Everyone in the nursing home only has to attend classes four days a week, from Monday to Thursday, with only five hours of classes each day. The morning classes are from 8:00 to 11:00, and the afternoon classes are from 2:30 to 4:30, with a long break at noon.

And there is no morning and evening self-study!

Shi Yu was accompanied by the doctors to the dormitory around nine o'clock. She patiently held her tablet, waiting for her roommates to return from class. Idly fiddling with her tablet's address book, it took several tries before she found the holographic projection button the doctors had mentioned.

This holographic projection system seemed to be able to project the entire body of the person being called, making it almost like a face-to-face conversation. However, Shigure hadn't tried it yet, and the doctors had temporarily forbidden her from using it. After all, Shigure's mood had been quite unstable during her hospitalization. She'd been so frightened the last time by a holographic star map, so she had to wait until she was fully recovered and her mood had calmed down before trying it again.

——Doctors still believe that it was the accident during the military academy training that made Shi Yu's mind fragile and overly sensitive, which is why she appeared to be in a sluggish state some time ago.

...But Shi Yu didn't know this. Since the doctors said so, Shi Yu could only obey. She was looking forward to using this function to have a holographic communication with the general.

Two hours passed as Shi Yu was poking and fidgeting. Suddenly, the sound of cheerful conversation vaguely broke into Shi Yu's ears. Footsteps came up the stairs. Shi Yu heard Natasha's voice among several people, and the voices were talking and laughing as they gradually approached his door.

Shi Yu was startled, and quickly threw the tablet aside. He trotted over, entered the password, and opened the door.

Seeing Shi Yu cautiously peeking out, Natasha stopped knocking and threw herself into a warm bear hug. "get out of class is over, Shi Yu, let's go eat together."

Shi Yu was pushed back several steps by Natasha's force. She held Natasha steady and, with a reserved expression, quickly glanced at the young men and women behind Natasha.

Then he lowered his head and said in a weak voice: "Hmm..."

Natasha smiled. She was an Omega with many friends. Although she didn't live in this dormitory building, she was clearly familiar with Shigure's future neighbors. The blonde girl gently took Shigure's wrist and led her to the front of the group. "These are the neighbors you'll be living with from now on. Can you introduce yourselves?"

Shi Yu felt dizzy and a little suffocated.

Before, Shi Yu was really not a shy person, but when she saw that the eyes of several young men and women in front of her, including Natasha, were all on her...the gentle and kind gazes brought her an inexplicable fear. Shi Yu didn't say anything and her face turned a little pale.

"Nana."

The brown-haired boy among the group frowned, keenly noticing that something was wrong with Shi Yu. Natasha reacted immediately, opened her green eyes wide and stood in front of Shi Yu.

"Ah! It's okay, Shigure—" Natasha apologized to her in a panic, "I'm sorry it was so sudden. You can get used to it slowly. You've just gotten a little better, and I..."

Omegas are the weakest of the three sexes. Because they are not familiar with the environment in the nursing home, many Omegas become shy and timid when they first arrive. There are actually not many Omegas who are as heartless as Natasha and can quickly adapt to the new environment.

Natasha blamed herself in her heart, wishing she could have introduced Shi Yu just now. Shi Yu had just been in a car accident and had suffered great physical and mental trauma. She should have paid more attention to Shi Yu's emotions.

The new Omega girl was surprisingly timid, and Shigure's neighbors looked at each other in confusion. However, they all quickly caught on, and they followed Natasha's concerns, offering gentle comfort to Shigure.

Natasha's face was filled with guilt as she anxiously turned around in front of her eyes. Shi Yu came back to her senses and with trembling fingers, she grabbed the hem of Natasha's skirt that was about to fly up. She whispered, "I'm fine...Natasha."

Shi Yu was not quite sure what was going on with her. Under everyone's gazes, Shi Yu suddenly became extremely nervous and scared... Feeling that she had scared everyone, Shi Yu sniffed and apologized to everyone, and her neighbors breathed a sigh of relief, smiled and said that it was okay and welcome to be here.

Shi Yu blushed, feeling a little embarrassed by everyone's tone as if they were coaxing a small animal. He was then kindly accompanied by Natasha and everyone else to the restaurant.

Previously, the doctors had served her nutritious meals in the ward. This was Shi Yu's first time in the nursing home's cafeteria, where meals were all served buffet style, with a dedicated fruit and dessert section. Natasha accompanied Shi Yu, helping her choose what she could and couldn't eat, while nagging her about her future neighbors.

"The brown-haired boy is Angus. He's the head of your dormitory building. If you need anything in the future, just ask him for help."

Natasha stuffed a piece of date cake into her mouth and quietly pointed to the boy who was the only one Shi Yu remembered. She chewed the cake and said vaguely, "I might get nagged, even though he's a really nice guy..."

"The girl with green hair is called Sally, and the girl with short pink hair is called Lulu. They both like sewing. I've been with them before when I took the sewing class. They're both very nice people. Shigure, you can play with them without worry."

Shigure murmured a promise, following Natasha's gaze towards the two girls not far away. The two beautiful and adorable Omegas seemed to have been observing her. Holding desserts, they huddled together like two little birds, smiling sweetly at Shigure as she looked over, dimples faintly visible on their round cheeks.

Shi Yu felt shy but also a little happy when being looked at by the two cute neighbors.

Omega... that's the right name, right? It didn't feel like the group of cadets she remembered. The Omegas didn't reject Shigure at all. They were even patient and gentle, showing kindness to him, hoping he'd integrate with them.

Natasha smiled and waved to the two Omegas who looked somewhat similar. She said to Shigure happily, "It seems like they like you too. That's great."

Shigure nodded slightly, and then the black-haired girl pursed her lips and said softly, "Um...Natasha."

——Apart from Natasha, the only neighbors who accompanied her to the restaurant today were Angus and the other two.

Natasha did not introduce the man named Ed Sturga, her real neighbor who lived on the second floor like herself.

"Angus lives alone on the third floor. Yes, Shiyu, you have a neighbor. How should I put it..." Natasha understood as soon as Shiyu opened her mouth, but her expression was subtly conflicted. She seemed to be trying hard to think of gentle and appropriate words to introduce Ed, but it was obvious that this matter embarrassed the northern girl who had never taken a literature class.

Shi Yu looked at Natasha in confusion and scratched her curly blonde hair. Then the girl frowned and said "uh" weakly.

Natasha's voice came muffled, "Do you remember I told you that Ed was the best science student among us? He's a very capable young man, but..." Natasha hesitated before continuing, "He's just a little weird."

...Natasha, who is enthusiastic, cheerful and friendly to everyone, actually described [Ed Sturga] in this way. Suddenly, the image of a science boy who is difficult to get along with and has a weird temperament emerged in Shiyu's mind, and Shiyu couldn't help but be stunned for a moment.

"But his schedule is different from ours, and he comes back to the dorm quite late. If you can't get along with him, Shigure, it's okay. There's not much chance to meet anyway...if there's a conflict."

Natasha bit her lip and urged Shi Yu in a stern tone, "You must find me or Angus. We will help you vent your anger!"

"……OK, thanks."

Shi Yu's eyes were empty, and he wondered confusedly, is it really that scary...?

Today was Shi Yu's first day out of the hospital, and she didn't have to attend classes this afternoon. When Natasha returned from attending classes with Shi Yu's neighbors at around four o'clock, knocking on her dormitory door again, Shi Yu glanced into the next room and saw no sign of anyone returning.

——Until eight or nine o'clock in the evening, the other dormitory on the second floor was still very quiet.

Shi Yu came back after dinner and separated from Natasha on the road. The blonde girl, whose dormitory was not far from Shi Yu, said before leaving that she could sleep with Shi Yu tonight, fearing that she would be scared and not used to it.

But Shi Yu felt that she would get used to it sooner or later. She pursed her lips and smiled, then stood on tiptoe to hug Natasha gratefully. The other party was slightly startled, then let out a "woop" and hugged her tightly.

"It's okay, Natasha." Shigure said, "...Thank you."

Shi Yu returned to her room and lay on the bed in a daze, playing with her tablet. Because she had exchanged contact information with her neighbors, her address book had been enriched with several new avatars. Shi Yu stared at the avatar belonging to the general for a long time, and finally suppressed the idea that would trouble the general.

After killing some time, Shi Yu began to feel sleepy. She put down the tablet and went to her small bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face. When she came out, she moved her ears and unexpectedly heard distorted and heavy footsteps coming from outside the door.

His messy steps seemed to have lost his balance, and he stumbled past Shi Yu's door. Shi Yu sat back on the bed, picked up the tablet and checked the time. It was already 9:50 - Natasha had said that Ed Sturga's schedule was different from everyone else's.

Shi Yu sighed inwardly and suddenly became curious about this mysterious neighbor.

But it was too late, and Natasha had also said that her neighbor had a difficult personality. If he rashly went out to greet him, he might cause resentment... Shi Yu hesitated for a moment and decided not to care about his neighbor for the time being.

But the next moment, her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the muffled sound of a body falling to the ground. Shi Yu was frightened and her heart skipped a beat. She hurriedly ran over to open the door.

The moment he opened the door, Shi Yu saw a pair of cold and indifferent green eyes.

The boy's eyes were like a cool and moist rain curtain, piercing into Shi Yu's heart. His lips were very light in color, his beautiful and delicate facial features were cold and exquisite, his cheeks were bloodless, and his pale and fragile temperament made the boy look like a handicraft placed in a window.

Shi Yu was stunned by her neighbor's stunning beauty. She hurriedly organized her words and asked, "...Are you okay? Um, let me help you..."

"Don't come over." The neighbor frowned. His cold and dazzling silver hair and his freezing tone made Shi Yu stop in fear.

The boy took a deep breath and stood up shakily. Then, with a fierce look in his eyes, he lifted the door frame and entered the password to the room. Shi Yu just watched his actions until he walked weakly into his dormitory.

Before the boy named Ed Sturga closed the door, he said coldly, "Good night, Omega."
