Chapter 111 New Year's Eve (Part 2)

Thousands of lights...

Jiang Li sat blankly at the desk in the room, holding a black pen in her right hand, with her diary spread out in front of her.

Although he was writing in his diary, his eyes were fixed on the window directly in front of him.

On the transparent glass window, there are tiny specks of light, which are the lights coming from houses in the distance.

Jiang Li sniffed, put away the diary woodenly, and stuffed it back into the drawer next to him.

Because the heater was on, Jiang Li was not wearing much clothes at the moment. She took two steps forward and sat on the bed.

A soft mattress was placed on the originally hard wooden bed, and on top of it was a soft blue-gray quilt.

Jiang Li wasn't a very squeamish person; she adhered to the principle of using what she had and accepting what she didn't. Everything was quite old, especially the quilt she'd used before. The cotton had become hard, but she still hadn't changed it.

After Mo Jingchun and Jiang Li started living together, he naturally would not allow his girlfriend to live like this, so he decisively changed a complete set of bedding for Jiang Li.

Jiang Li fell on the soft quilt behind her, turned over and buried her face in it.

After rolling twice, Jiang Li revealed one eye and breathed in the faint scent of laundry detergent on the quilt.

The night was really quiet. Perhaps it was because Jiang Li was used to having someone by his side, and now that he was suddenly alone, he felt a little at a loss.

Companionship is really a wonderful thing. Sometimes it is the most beautiful, but sometimes it is the most ruthless.

The separation after companionship seems to be an eternal truth that never changes.

"Buzz."

A sound was heard, and Jiang Li subconsciously touched his pocket, but found nothing.

Jiang Li reacted and found that her cell phone was still on the desk beside her. She quickly used both hands to prop herself up from the bed, picked up the cell phone on the desk in a panic, and answered the call.

"Hello."

Because the call was connected so quickly, Jiang Li didn't have time to see clearly who was calling.

"What are you doing?"

Mo Jingchun's playful and cheerful voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Me?" Jiang Li looked around. "I didn't do anything."

"Why do you seem unhappy?" Mo Jingchun asked on the other end of the phone.

"No," Jiang Li's voice trembled a little, but he couldn't help but smile.

"Hehe, you can't fool me." Mo Jingchun said on the other end of the phone, but there were still some "da da" sounds coming from the other end.

"Let me guess, are you home alone now?"

Hearing Mo Jingchun say this, Jiang Li shook his head helplessly, "Where else can I go? It's so late."

"Haha, that's right."

…………

There was a long silence.

"Have you eaten?" Jiang Li glanced at the time. It was now 7:50 and the Spring Festival Gala was about to begin.

"Hehe." Mo Jingchun did not answer the question from his family, but let out a strange laugh.

Um?

Jiang Li frowned slightly, but before she could ask further questions, the latter spoke first.

"Jiang Li," Mo Jingchun deliberately stretched out his tone. Jiang Li could even imagine him smiling at the moment. "Guess where I am now?"

"Where are you?"

Jiang Li was slightly startled. This question, could it be that...

Jiang Li didn't dare to think about it. She nodded and then immediately shook her head, but soon Jiang Li realized that she was making a voice call and the other party couldn't see her movements at all.

"I have no idea."

The moment this sentence was spoken, the phone was hung up. Before Jiang Li could react, the sound of a door opening was heard from the living room outside.

Jiang Li hurriedly lifted the front of his hair, jumped off the bed, put on his plush slippers, and rushed to the door of the room.

A tall and handsome man was standing in the living room with a warm smile on his face. His peach blossom eyes were fixed on Jiang Li in front of him.

"How is it? This should be considered a surprise, right?" Mo Jingchun said with a smile.

Jiang Li didn't say anything. Her black and smooth hair was draped around her, and her beautiful eyes on her snow-white face were lowered.

After living together for more than half a year, Mo Jingchun always wanted to make Jiang Li fatter and have a rosier complexion, but whether it was because of his nature or for some other reason, Jiang Li's complexion was always pale and he looked malnourished.

But because of this, Jiang Li has a more pitiful temperament.

Jiang Li walked over slowly and buried his head in Mo Jingchun's arms.

It was only half a year of companionship, but it transformed Jiang Li's heart, which was willing to be alone, into what it is today.

Mo Jingchun smiled quietly. He put one hand on Jiang Li's back and the other on the back of Jiang Li's head.

His eyes felt slightly hot, and he somehow remembered the winter of last year.

On the day before New Year's Eve, they seemed to be hugging each other tightly in the same way.

But the difference from that time was that now it was Mo Jingchun who hugged Jiang Li.

Jiang Li rubbed Mo Jingchun's chest with his head, which made him feel a little itchy.

After calming down, Jiang Li and Mo Jingchun sat on the sofa in the living room. Jiang Li couldn't help but ask Mo Jingchun who came to his side on New Year's Eve.

But the latter seemed to have anticipated what she was going to say, and before Jiang Li could open her mouth, he covered her mouth with one hand.

"Don't say so much. I came here after having the New Year's Eve dinner. Besides, my family doesn't stay up all night to welcome the New Year, and we don't watch the Spring Festival Gala. We all go back to our rooms. We're all alone anyway, so I might as well come and keep you company."
