Chapter 13 Repairing a Car

Without the obstruction of the crowd around him, Jiang Li could immediately see the bicycle lying not far away with a dented front wheel.

Mo Jingchun put his hand on the back of his neck and said, "The quality of your bicycle is not good. It became like this after just one collision."

Jiang Li didn't say anything, but just walked forward silently and picked up his bicycle. He didn't know how Mo Jingchun had done it, but not only was the front wheel dented, but even the chain was tangled into a ball.

Jiang Li's pale face showed a hint of anxiety. She tried to push the bicycle, but it didn't move at all.

"Alright," Mo Jingchun stretched out the back of his hand and pushed Jiang Li away. "There's a car repair shop nearby. Let's take it there and get it fixed."

After saying that, Mo Jingchun picked up the bicycle and led the way towards the repair shop he mentioned.

Seeing this, Jiang Li had no choice but to follow quickly.

Mo Jingchun walked in front, walking down the bricks beside the asphalt road, while Jiang Li followed behind him.

The two walked to the end of the downhill road, turned right, passed through several fast food shops with white hot steam coming out, and finally came to a car repair shop.

The repair shop was not big, and there was only a middle-aged man inside who looked to be about 40 years old and was wearing dirty work clothes.

Jiang Li stood outside the shop and smelled a strong smell of motor oil. There were several motorcycles and electric bikes parked in the repair shop, rows of shiny repair tools hung on the wall, and black oil stains were spread on the ground.

"Boss, come and help me see if this bicycle can be repaired?"

Mo Jingchun walked into the repair shop carrying his bicycle and casually called out to the boss to let him take a look.

The boss was removing the screws from a motorcycle in the shop. When he heard the noise next to him, he stood up from the ground, picked up a towel beside him and wiped the oil off his hands.

The boss didn't say anything more and took Jiang Li's badly damaged bicycle from Mo Jingchun.

When the boss took it and took his first look, his expression became a little awkward.

"Hey young man, what did you do with this car? The front wheel is in such a state, and even the trunk is broken and has a gash."

"Don't worry about that," Mo Jingchun glanced at Jiang Li, who was standing beside him with a pale face. "Just tell me if it can be repaired."

The boss shook his head. "I can fix your chain, but the bar is cracked. This bike is basically scrapped. Buy a new one, young man."

"No," Mo Jingchun wanted to say something when someone pulled the clothes on his right hand.

"Let's go. If it can't be fixed, forget it..."

Jiang Li lowered his head and pretended to leave the repair shop. Mo Jingchun turned around and saw the boss waving his hands as if he was helpless.

Seeing this, Mo Jingchun had no choice but to pick up the scrapped bicycle and follow Jiang Li outside.

Unlike when they came, the two of them were walking side by side at this moment. Although Mo Jingchun was very tall, Jiang Li's black hair blocked his expression.

Through the white smoke of the fast food restaurant, Mo Jingchun took the lead and walked ahead of Jiang Li.

"Classmate, I broke your bicycle. Don't worry, I will definitely compensate you with a new one."

Mo Jingchun stared at Jiang Li, as if wanting to see the latter's eyes through her black hair.

As Mo Jingchun spoke, he reached for his school uniform pocket. However, after searching all four pockets, he only found a few 20 and 10 yuan bills.

Mo Jingchun grabbed Jiang Li's hand and stuffed all the money he had into her hand.

Jiang Li struggled to take her hand back. It seemed that she really hated close contact with others.

Mo Jingchun ignored this. He held Jiang Li's wrist tightly and said to her with a solemn promise: "Just wait, I'll collect some money in a few days and I will definitely compensate you!"

"Can you...let me go first?"

Jiang Li's clear voice rang out, and only at this moment did she raise her head slightly, revealing her eyes hidden under her hair.

"It's really hard to be your deskmate. It takes you ages to say a word," Mo Jingchun curled his lips, loosened himself, and held Jiang Li's hand, "Unlike my previous..."

"Didn't you have a deskmate before?"

After hearing what Mo Jingchun said, Jiang Li raised her head and retorted somewhat unconvincedly. She blinked her beautiful eyes, but two drops of tears fell unexpectedly.

"You..." Mo Jingchun suspected that he had seen it wrong.

"You're mistaken."

Jiang Li shook his head and stopped talking, walking forward.

Mo Jingchun stood there, a look of confusion on his face. It was just a broken bicycle, wasn't it? What was there to cry about? Girls are such sentimental creatures!

Mo Jingchun said he couldn't understand.

Mo Jingchun looked at Jiang Li who had already walked far away, and immediately took a step forward and trotted to catch up with Jiang Li.

"Where should I put this bike now? I can't carry it to school."

Mo Jingchun stood beside Jiang Li and asked her.

"Just put it back next to the bus stop sign where the grandma was robbed."

As they were talking, they walked down the same downhill road. When they reached the bus stop, they suddenly heard a hurried sound.

"Ding-ling-ling, ding-ling-ling."

Jiang Li's expression changed. This was clearly the bell for evening self-study.

Oh no, they had wasted so much time without realizing it that they didn’t even notice that it was already evening study time.

Jiang Li immediately ran towards the school at the momentum of a 100-meter sprint. Mo Jingchun originally looked indifferent. After all, according to his experience, being late was commonplace.
