Chapter 16 Wanted

In the afternoon, the sun sets in the west.

A seven-story building, mainly blue and white in color, with a decorative police badge in the middle, stands in the Public Security Bureau, two blocks away from Hangzhou No. 3 Middle School.

There is a tall tree planted on the left side of the Public Security Bureau near the gate. Its branches have exceeded the height of the wall and extend outside.

And at the edge of the outer wall, under the trees, there were two young boys in blue and white school uniforms, standing there, one on the left and one on the right.

Mo Jingchun leaned against the wall with his arms folded over his chest, while Xu Fan touched his chin as if he was thinking about something.

"Are you serious?"

Xu Fan stood at the door of the Public Security Bureau, put down his hand that was touching his chin, and looked at his best friend Mo Jingchun.

"Of course, do you have any good ideas?"

After Mo Jingchun finished speaking, he stood up straight and was about to walk into the Public Security Bureau. Xu Fan quickly grabbed him.

"Even if you want to arrest him, you can't just run to the police station," Xu Fan frowned, took out a phone from his pocket and opened the local police WeChat account. "You said you saw a wanted poster saying that the person who robbed the bag last time had an accomplice."

Mo Jingchun nodded. He reached out and swiped the phone in Xu Fan's hand, finally stopping at a strange middle-aged man and clicked on him.

"That's him."

"You haven't told me yet," Xu Fan put away his phone and looked at Mo Jingchun with a scrutinizing look, "Why are you doing this? Don't tell me you're a caring citizen, a justice lover, and so on..."

"Nothing."

Mo Jingchun felt that this was not something worth hiding, so he told Xu Fan casually that he would compensate Jiang Li for the bicycle.

"Just for this?" Xu Fan was a little incredulous. "You asked me to go with you to catch that wanted criminal who has already disappeared just for the 1,500 yuan reward on the wanted list?"

"Oh my God!" Xu Fan tilted his head to the side. "Are you here to make fun of me?"

"Then what can I do? I can't come up with the 1,500 right now." Mo Jingchun waved his hands, looking helpless.

"Your father..."

Before Xu Fan finished speaking, Mo Jingchun's expression changed immediately.

"I broke Jiang Li's bicycle. This is my business. I won't ask him for money."

"Alright," Xu Fan patted Mo Jingchun on the shoulder. "We are all young and responsible students. We don't rely on our parents, we only rely on ourselves... So what are we going to do now? We can't just wait at the police station door for that guy to turn himself in, then catch him and run inside to take credit, right?"

Hearing Xu Fan say this, Mo Jingchun imitated his previous actions and supported his chin with his hand.

"That's a question I haven't thought about yet."

"You fucking..."

"Don't let your guard down yet," Mo Jingchun quickly blocked Xu Fan's mouth to prevent him from saying anything foul. "I've actually done some research as well. Let's go to the nearby vegetable market first. Since we're here anyway."

"Okay."

Mo Jingchun and Xu Fan bypassed the police station and headed towards a farmers' market in the southeast, which was the largest vegetable market in the vicinity.

It is also one of the clues mentioned in the wanted poster.

It is called a vegetable market, but now it also has some of the characteristics of a large supermarket.

Despite this, you can still see many elderly people selling things on the ground outside, as well as some stalls pushing carts selling snacks such as buns and cold noodles.

"Uncle, have you seen this person in the past few days?"

Mo Jingchun squatted at a small vegetable stall covered with white plastic film and shouted to an old man in front of him who looked to be in his 60s.

"What, little boy, you want to buy spinach?"

The old man's hearing was obviously not very good, and he heard Mo Jingchun's words as wanting to buy spinach.

"No, no."

Mo Jinchun shook his head and gestured to make the old man understand what he meant.

"I mean, have you seen this man? He's a wanted criminal who showed up at your place recently."

"What? You want water spinach? Hey kid, it's cheap here, only three yuan."

The old man had a cheerful smile on his face. He reached out and picked up some water spinach and weighed a pound for Mo Jingchun.

Mo Jingchun looked at the water spinach handed to him and was speechless for a moment. It was indeed a little difficult to communicate with the elderly.

Mo Jingchun took out three coins from his pocket and handed them to the old man, then took the water spinach in his hand.

"Uncle, it's getting late, go back early."

The old man nodded with a smile and kept saying thank you. Mo Jingchun stood up from the vegetable stall, glanced at Xu Fan, and then walked towards the center of the market together.

20 minutes later, two people came out of the vegetable market carrying a large pile of various vegetables.

"Ouch," Xu Fan sat down on the seat at the bus stop next to the vegetable market.

"I didn't get much news, but I did buy a lot of food. Do you want potatoes or water spinach tonight?"

Mo Jingchun shook his head and ignored Xu Fan's teasing.

He held his phone and looked at the wanted face in the official account, and also looked at several suspicious locations marked by the police. Since he was not in the vegetable market with the greatest suspicion, where would he run to?

Mo Jingchun looked at the middle-aged man wearing a black hat on the phone and was stunned for a moment.

"Hey!" Xu Fan sat up straight. "Where are we going now? It's almost 6 o'clock."

Xu Fan subconsciously looked at Mo Jingchun, but the latter's eyes were dull, and he looked as if his soul had been sucked out of him.

"Brother, what's wrong with you?"

Xu Fan grabbed Mo Jingchun's arm and began to shake it vigorously, forcing him to recover from his dazed state.

"Wait...wait."

Mo Jingchun rubbed his eyes and looked at the man in the black hat who walked out of the phone opposite him. He quickly lowered his head to confirm and found that although the man had his back to him, his body shape and the hat he was wearing were exactly the same as those in the wanted poster.

"I told you it was right," Mo Jingchun turned around and punched Xu Fan on the shoulder.

"Brother is helping you out of kindness, why are you hitting him?"

Xu Fan rubbed his shoulders and said, "What's right? Did you find that person?"

Mo Jingchun quietly approached Xu Fan and said, "See that man buying buns across the street? Hmm... that's him. Let's sneak over and check it out."

"That's fine," Xu Fan also lowered his voice, "but we're so far away from him, there's no need to be so cautious, he can't hear us."

"What do you know? Hurry up, he will be gone soon." Mo Jingchun jumped up from his seat at the bus stop.

"What about these dishes?"

Xu Fan looked at the large and small bags of various vegetables placed on the ground and shouted to Mo Jingchun who had already walked a few meters away.

"Put it there first and take it later."

Xu Fan put down the vegetables in his hand and ran forward a few steps, walking side by side with Mo Jingchun. They crossed the zebra crossing and came to the other side.
