The uncle's words silenced the two people who were arguing, and the uncle sat back in his seat with a tired look on his face.
At this moment, Mo Jingchun and Jiang Li were still standing at the door on the second floor. Jiang Li was breathing heavily. She knew that her grandmother should be in the room, so she took a step forward. However, it was this light step that ignited Bai Cheng on the other side.
Before anyone could react, Bai Cheng came to Jiang Li with an angry face.
“Bang!”
Accompanied by a loud sound, Jiang Li fell backwards uncontrollably and hit the door panel behind him heavily.
A burning pain spread across the left side of his face, and a distinct smell of blood and rust came from the corner of his mouth.
Jiang Li was extremely weak due to the sadness of the past few days. The heavy slap made her eyes go black. She tried her best to grab the door panel behind her to avoid falling to the ground.
There were bursts of buzzing sounds in my ears, and a thin layer of cold sweat stuck my black hair to my face.
"Damn it, what are you doing back here!"
Bai Cheng said with gritted teeth, he raised his other hand high, but it was grabbed tightly the next second.
Mo Jingchun's face turned ashen, and his eyes reflected a dangerous light. He gripped Bai Cheng's arm tightly and pushed it back hard.
Bai Cheng naturally couldn't hold his own against the young and strong Mo Jingchun, and he fell back a few steps. Fortunately, Bai Ye supported him in time and prevented him from falling.
"Who the hell are you?"
An angry look appeared on Bai Cheng's face, but after seeing Mo Jingchun protecting Jiang Li, he couldn't help but sneer, "So she's the flower protector. Do you know what she was before?"
Mo Jingchun's face looked very ugly. He clenched his fists and walked forward, wanting to leave a deep impression on Bai Cheng.
"No, don't go."
At the critical moment, Jiang Li grabbed Mo Jingchun's wrist and pulled him back.
Jiang Li struggled to get up from the door panel. A clear red mark appeared on his originally fair face, and the corner of his mouth was broken and blood was flowing out.
Bai Ye pulled Bai Cheng away and brought him into the room on the other side. The uncle spoke again.
"Jiang Li, go in quickly. Remember, don't let grandma die with regrets."
After the uncle finished speaking in a complicated manner, he stopped looking at her and pulled her aunt and the bewildered Bai Lu into another room. At this moment, there were only Jiang Li and Mo Jingchun in the living room.
"Jiang Li, are you okay?"
Mo Jingchun held Jiang Li's arm, with a look of heartache on his face.
That was the moon that Mo Jingchun had always cherished, but today she was humiliated and beaten without any scruples by her so-called family.
Mo Jingchun looked at the girl in front of him and suddenly felt very sad. She was clearly pursuing happiness, but was entangled by the suffering of fate.
She is gentle and kind, but she cannot have a bright future.
Why is this happening?
Yeah, why is this happening?
"Mo Jingchun," Jiang Li grabbed his hand and led him towards the room in front.
Jiang Li walked into the familiar room, and the first thing that caught his eye was still the wooden bed.
And her grandmother Jiang Li was lying on it.
After four years, Jiang Li finally saw his grandmother again. At that moment, the scene of their separation appeared in front of Jiang Li's eyes.
But the difference from that time is that she has become more mature, while grandma has grown old.
"Grandma," Jiang Li knelt beside the bed and gently called out to the old woman lying on the bed.
Grandma closed her eyes tightly and seemed to have fallen asleep.
"Grandma, grandma."
"Yes, cough, cough, huhuhu."
At Jiang Li's call, the grandmother who had been unconscious once again opened her cloudy eyes. Her whole body exuded a sense of impending death. That was the last moment of her departure.
"Grandma," Jiang Li said, tears streaming down his face, as he held onto her bony hands. "It's me, I'm back."
"You, are you Haohao?" Grandma tried her best to see the appearance of the person in front of her clearly, but unfortunately no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't do it.
"Haohao, you're back."
The corners of grandma's wrinkled eyes became moist, and two turbid tears flowed down. It was like a sudden last burst of light, and she became energetic again.
"Grandma misses you so much, but they won't let me contact you, saying that you no longer exist in the family. But grandma knows, grandma knows that you are still here, just not by my side anymore."
"Hao... No, your name is Jiang Li now." A kind smile appeared on the grandmother's old face, and tears of longing flowed uncontrollably. "Jiang Li, have you been well these years?"
"grandmother."
Jiang Li looked into her grandmother's eyes earnestly with tears in his eyes, "I'm doing well."
Jiang Li's frail body couldn't help but tremble, and her tears seemed to have found an outlet, falling drop by drop on her pale hands.
The sadness was so contagious that Mo Jingchun also shed tears. He knelt beside the bed, leaning against Jiang Li, as if trying to give her some strength, so that she would have the courage to complete this farewell.
"That's good, that's good."
"I'm sorry, but grandma is no longer able to stay with you. I won't be able to see you get married, have children, and have your own family."
Grandma's face was full of apology. She had just said a few words when she started coughing again.
"Grandma, I don't blame you. It's all my fault. I didn't come back to see you earlier." Jiang Li shook her head, her eyes filled with reluctance.
