August 20th, late summer.
Everything seemed to be moving in a good direction. For Mo Ling, his brother finally took action instead of staying at home like a turtle.
But she overlooked the fact that summer was coming to an end and the coming autumn would be the time when everything withered.
Hangzhou University, Teaching Department.
"Classmate, are you sure you want to go through the withdrawal procedures?"
A bespectacled teacher in his forties or fifties, holding his student file in his hands, said in a puzzled tone, "You're already a junior, and you only have one year left to graduate. Why do you want to drop out now?"
"And your grades are excellent. If it's because of your family's financial situation, the school also has scholarships to help you."
Jiang Li was sitting in the office of the teaching department. After hearing what the teacher said, she smiled calmly and shook her head gently, "No need, teacher. I have some personal reasons."
"Are you really not going to reconsider it?" The teacher in front of him sounded very regretful, and he tried his best to keep Jiang Li.
"Thank you, teacher."
Jiang Li stood up from her seat and bowed to the teacher in front of her. Her expression was extremely serious. "Please process the withdrawal procedures for me."
Seeing Jiang Li's firm attitude, the teacher could only sigh helplessly. After all, the student wanted to drop out of school, and as a teacher, she had no other choice but to persuade him.
About 20 minutes later, Jiang Li walked out of the teaching office with his academic record.
She stood in the center of Hangzhou University and subconsciously looked around. It was a very beautiful university, and familiar scenes came into view.
The memories of the flower arrangement club, study room, library, and cultural performances that I had visited seemed to come flooding back to my mind.
But now that she has been expelled, she has no way of staying in this university anymore.
Jiang Li had never thought about dropping out of school before. She knew that having an academic degree was very important to survive in this society, but after returning from her hometown, she changed her mind.
Jiang Li had no way to stay in this city that had become cold any longer.
Jiang Li wanted to cut off those sad memories and prevent the pain from spreading to those who still loved her.
So she won't look back.
…………
"Haha, Director of the Holy Library, this is a sacred meeting of light. We have succeeded once again."
Hangzhou is still next to the familiar cross-river bridge.
Mo Ling, Xu Fan and Jiang Li were standing by the bridge enjoying the breeze.
"Jiang Li, you seem to be in a good mood. Did something good happen?" Xu Fan said to Jiang Li with a smile.
Jiang Li didn't speak immediately, but stared at Xu Fan seriously.
"Is there something on my face?" Xu Fan subconsciously touched his face and smiled funny.
"Xu Fan, you are still the same. Although you are carefree, you are actually a very thoughtful person. I feel relieved that Mo Ling is with you."
Jiang Li said seriously.
"It was me who protected the Demon Lord. No, it was me who sealed him, Sister Jiang Li."
Mo Ling looked unconvinced, crossed his arms over his chest, and turned his head to the other side.
"Yes, yes, you sealed me, my most powerful female knight." Xu Fan scratched Mo Ling's head and pulled her to his side.
"I am the Holy Grace Radiant Ending Wheel Dancer Knight. Please call me by my real name. Thank you."
"Hahaha."
Jiang Li smiled so hard that she bent over, her black hair swaying, and even her beautiful eyes curved into crescents.
Her smile also attracted the attention of the two people beside her. Xu Fan and Mo Ling looked at each other tacitly and asked at the same time.
"Jiang Li, what's wrong with you?"
"Nothing," Jiang Li stopped smiling and his expression returned to normal.
"I'm just very happy. Seeing you two being able to walk on happily like this, I feel at ease."
Jiang Li smiled again. She turned around and looked at the river in the distance. The breeze blew her black hair, and her quiet black eyes seemed to ripple.
"Maybe I've been sad for too long. Now I just want to smile."
"Jiang Li," Xu Fan sensed something was wrong. He was about to speak but was interrupted by Jiang Li again.
"Xu Fan!"
Jiang Li's face was full of seriousness. She stared straight into Xu Fan's eyes, which made the latter stand up straight involuntarily.
But then Jiang Li's expression softened again. Her eyes swept across Mo Ling beside her, and finally looked at the two of them.
"Promise me that you will be happy."
"Sister Jiang Li, why do you suddenly say that?" Mo Ling's expression was a little nervous. She wanted to reach out and hold Jiang Li's hand, just like she had done countless times before.
"You two go first, let me stay here alone for a while," Jiang Li turned sideways to avoid Mo Ling, "Don't worry, I'm fine."
"But..." Mo Ling wanted to speak again, but was stopped by Xu Fan. Perhaps they should give Jiang Li some private space.
"Jiang Li, don't keep anything in your heart. We will always be your friends." Xu Fan said seriously.
"Yeah," Jiang Li nodded, "I know."
…………
After seeing off Mo Ling and Xu Fan, Jiang Li quietly looked at the shimmering river surface for a while before taking out his cell phone and calling Aunt Lin Yun.
The phone was connected, and Aunt Lin Yun's familiar voice came from the other end.
"Hello, who is this?"
Aunt Lin Yun's voice was busy, she was always like that.
