Chapter 184 The Road Back

As the cruise ship docked, several people returned to their homes.

Jiang Li temporarily lived in Mo Ling's previous room.

Jiang Li went up to the second floor and suddenly thought of something. She turned and looked at Mo Jingchun, "By the way, where is the ginger?"

"Ginger."

Mo Jingchun seemed to have expected Jiang Li to ask him this. After walking towards a room in the corner of the second floor, he opened the door and motioned Jiang Li to look inside.

There was no light in the room, it was pitch black and I couldn't see anything.

“Pah.”

The lights came on and a white figure appeared in front of Jiang Li.

Ginger smelled the scent of its master, and it walked to Mo Jingchun with its tail wagging, sniffing around his feet.

But the next second, it smelled another familiar smell. The smell had been there for a long time, but it once again rushed into Ginger's nose.

Sheng Jiang walked to Jiang Li's side and sniffed carefully, as if trying to identify who the person in front of him was.

"Ginger, do you remember me?"

Jiang Li half squatted down, stretched out her hand and gently stroked Jiang's fluffy white head. She smiled warmly, and her eyes showed the joy of reunion after a long separation and a hint of invisible sadness.

The ginger did not resist Jiang Li's touch. It finally recalled the source of the smell from its long-lost memory.

"Woof woof."

Ginger stuck out his tongue and showed a sweet smile on his face. He remembered that this smell belonged to his other owner. At the beginning, he had two owners.

Jiang Li hugged Sheng Jiang, put his head close to its furry body, and smelled the scent of Sheng Jiang, just like when he hugged it six years ago when it was only a little bit big.

After the initial excitement, Ginger began to make whimpering sounds similar to crying, as if he didn't understand why the former hostess wanted to leave.

Those memories settled in time, and Jiang Li did not intend to abandon them. Instead, he prepared to walk the same path again to witness the changes that had taken place in those memories.

Early in the morning, the two returned to the place where they first met, Hangzhou No. 3 Middle School.

Jiang Li is actually a nostalgic person, and once the memories begin to flow, he can't help but want to pick up those past experiences.

Nostalgic people often reminisce about the past and feel sad about the passing of time, but they are powerless to do anything about it.

After communicating with the security guard, the two were able to re-enter Hangzhou No. 3 Middle School. It has been nine years since they graduated from high school at the age of 18.

Not only have the students changed one after another, but many of the original teachers have also been transferred to other schools.

The students walking on campus looked at the two with curiosity, guessing that they were two new teachers.

The two of them walked up to the fourth floor of the senior year. The original Class 407 had been replaced by one group after another, and the people sitting in the corner were no longer them.

"Do you want to go to the rooftop?" Mo Jingchun said.

Jiang Li did not refuse, and the two of them walked upstairs.

It was still the same heavy iron door. Jiang Li recalled the first time he came to the rooftop and slept on a chair with Mo Jingchun.

I seemed to have hit Mo Jingchun's nose at that time.

Jiang Li chuckled. Mo Jingchun walked to the iron lock and found that it had not been replaced.

So he tried the same method he used back then. With a crisp sound, the iron lock was opened and the blue sky outside the iron gate came into view.

The two of them walked onto the rooftop, neither of them speaking.

There was a gentle breeze on my face and the sun was shining brightly, making me feel a little dizzy and inexplicably sleepy.

The two looked around and found that the seats they had put together were still there, but they were covered with dust.

Jiang Li stretched out his hand and brushed away the dust, leaving behind a faint shadow.

Nine years ago, I was lying here looking at the sky with Mo Jingchun.

Mo Jingchun didn't say anything, but looked at Jiang Li's back. After staying there for a long time, she turned around and spoke to him.

"Let's go."

But when they were going downstairs, they met a familiar person again, Mr. Liu, the senior class teacher who had taken good care of Jiang Li.

Nine years have passed, and Teacher Liu's originally young face has become mature. He is in his 30s and has already started a family and is living a good life.

Teacher Liu also recognized them, but since he still had classes to attend, he only exchanged a few brief words with them in the stairwell.

Jiang Li only remembered one sentence that Teacher Liu said.

"Teacher Liu is very happy to see you two."

After leaving Hangzhou No. 3 Middle School, the two strolled along the snack street where they used to go after school.

After passing by the big banyan tree, Jiang Li asked Mo Jingchun about Grandpa Su's situation.

Mo Jingchun didn't say anything, but silently took her to a place.

…………

Qingping Cemetery.

Jiang Li and Mo Jingchun stood in front of Grandpa Su's grave. The heavy atmosphere made them speechless.

Mo Jingchun told her that Grandpa Su had passed away two years ago.

Since he was an elderly widower with few relatives, even his funeral was hastily held by the neighbors around him.

Mo Jingchun and the others only learned later that Grandpa Su had passed away. Before that, the three of them had specially come to Grandpa Su's grave to pay their respects to him.

Such a kind old man passed away quietly.

Jiang Li looked at the smiling old man on the tombstone. Perhaps because he was used to separation and death, Jiang Li did not show much sadness. Instead, he bowed solemnly three times in front of Grandpa Su's tomb.

Jiang Li walked towards the direction of leaving the cemetery, while Mo Jingchun stood on the bluestone steps, wanting to say something but stopping himself.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Li stopped.

"Actually, I haven't gone to worship my mother for a long time," Mo Jingchun smiled, his expression a little nervous.

Jiang Li smiled. She walked forward and gave Mo Jingchun a push. "Why don't you lead the way?"

So the two of them came to the tomb of Mo Jingchun's mother Yang Xue.

Jiang Li looked at the black and white photo of the strange woman in front of him. She was somewhat similar to Mo Jingchun beside him.

She smiled gently, but even so, it still exuded a warm power.

Jiang Li remembered the so-called special person that Mo Jingchun had told him about.

"A special person." Mo Jingchun seemed to have heard Jiang Li's thoughts, and he suddenly spoke again.

"Actually, now that I think about it, maybe I was too stupid back then and misunderstood what my mother meant."

"That so-called special person may not be who I thought."

Mo Jingchun looked at Jiang Li again, his eyes somewhat complicated, "But now none of this matters anymore."

"Yeah," Jiang Li nodded.
