As the sun set in the west, the shadow cast by the setting sun on the gate of Hangzhou No. 3 Middle School became longer and longer. Jiang Li and the other two walked out of the school in a straight line, their shadows blending together.
Jiang Li walked in front, Mo Ling lowered her head and fiddled with the pendant on her chest, and Mo Jingchun walked at the back with his hands on his head.
The three of them walked in tacit understanding along the sidewalk beside the road to the bus stop opposite.
The setting sun felt very comfortable on my body, and there was a breeze blowing from afar. Although a lot of time had been spent on what had just happened, there were still many students in blue and white uniforms walking around the school.
"Thank you for what you did just now." Mo Jingchun walked forward and said to Jiang Li, who was standing in front of a row of electric bikes and bicycles.
Jiang Li silently helped the bicycle out, then looked at the brother and sister standing in front of him, "It's okay."
Mo Ling blinked at Jiang Li with her cute big eyes, and her pink lips opened and closed, as if she wanted to say something.
"I didn't expect you to follow me," Mo Jingchun smiled. "We've been desk mates for so long, but this is the first time I've heard you talk so much."
"Yeah." Jiang Li was silent. In fact, when she walked out of the school gate, she also felt a little strange. Why did she help Mo Ling? Was it because she saw some shadow in her?
"What?" Mo Ling glanced at Jiang Li, then at his brother. "So the waiter at the Holy Library and my brother are partners?"
"Partner?" Jiang Li frowned. She didn't quite understand what Mo Ling said. This was really a strange little girl.
"Hey, ignore her." Mo Jingchun stepped forward and grabbed Mo Ling's head, "She's in the late stage of Chuunibyou. There's no hope. Please understand."
"Don't touch me. Not everyone can touch the head of the Holy Grace Radiant Knight of the Wheel of Death." Mo Ling struggled to twist her petite body, trying to break free from her brother's dominance.
"Hmm?" Mo Jingchun stretched out his tone, and Mo Ling instantly became obedient and let his brother do what he wanted.
Mo Jingchun touched Mo Ling's messy hair and didn't let her see the heartache in his eyes.
"In that case, I'll leave first." Jiang Li got on the bicycle and held the handlebars with both hands.
"Are you leaving now?" Mo Jingchun took a step forward. "I wanted to treat you to a meal to express my gratitude."
"No need," Jiang Li replied without turning his head, "Just take good care of Mo Ling."
"Hey! Waiter from the Holy Library!"
Jiang Li had just taken a few steps on his bicycle when he heard Mo Ling's voice behind him.
Jiang Li supported himself on one leg and looked back at the setting sun.
When Mo Ling saw Jiang Li turning around, her body trembled slightly and her face turned red with excitement.
"You haven't told me your real name yet."
"The real name is the name, right?" Jiang Li thought for a moment and replied, "Jiang Li."
"My name is Jiang Li."
Jiang Li repeated it with a stronger tone, then turned around and rode his bicycle towards the street in the distance shrouded in the sunset.
"Jiang Li..." Mo Ling watched the latter's figure gradually fade away into the sunset, "Thank you, waiter of the Holy Library."
Feeling warm on his head, Mo Ling looked up blankly at Mo Jingchun who was stroking his head with his hand.
Mo Jingchun had a smile on his face. "Let's go too. You don't want to go back so early, do you?"
Mo Ling nodded and followed his brother in the direction Jiang Li left.
——
Why help them?
When you left, didn’t you swear not to have anything to do with anyone?
It’s so annoying. Why do you have to meddle in other people’s business?
The connection between people is delicate and fragile. Do we want to repeat it again?
I……
——
Jiang Li rode her bicycle on the sidewalk, her mind in turmoil. Whenever she was doing something alone or was alone, her mind would always flood back to what she had done before or was doing now, making her re-evaluate her original decision.
Perhaps the scar in his heart was too deep, so Jiang Li always inevitably brought it up when thinking about problems.
Her heart was beating fast. Jiang Li avoided the pedestrians in front of her, held the handlebars with one hand, and grabbed the peace locket on her chest with the other hand. Only this made her feel at ease.
There is a corner of a commercial street ahead, and after turning the other side there is only one straight road left.
Jiang Li held the handlebars with one hand and forgot to slow down for a moment. When she saw the electric bike coming around the corner, it was too late.
The person driving the electric car was a teenager of about seventeen or eighteen years old. He was wearing an orange-red floral shirt and black trousers. When he saw Jiang Li, he quickly braked the car.
"Bang."
The bicycle hit the front wheel of the electric bike, and Jiang Li also stepped over the bicycle and stood in the middle of the handlebars.
"No, sorry."
Jiang Li lowered her head and covered her face with her long black hair. This was her subconscious action to protect herself.
"Are you Jiang Li?"
Hearing the person in front of him calling out his name, Jiang Li was stunned at first, then slowly raised his head and looked at the young man in front of him, "You... know me."
"Of course." Xu Fan had a smile on his face. This was his buddy's female deskmate, the culprit that caused him to be in poor form several times on the court. How could he not know her?
"Jiang Li, is the library very dirty? They just finished cleaning it." Xu Fan asked Jiang Li in front of him, "By the way, where is Jingchun now? Do you know?"
"You..." Jiang Li hesitated. She looked at Xu Fan, who was very familiar with her, and didn't know what to say.
