Chapter 28 Wonton Noodles

Ten minutes, or maybe 20 minutes, Jiang Li couldn't tell how long it had been. Anyway, when Mo Jingchun stopped the car, the sky had already darkened completely.

The street lights came on and the surrounding shops flashed colorful signs.

But their target was not these colorful shops. They walked through all kinds of passers-by, entered the alley and found a small stall hidden next to a big banyan tree.

The stall is very simple, a tricycle with an aluminum bucket full of hot water on it, a workbench and a small wooden drawer next to it, which contains pink wontons, chili sauce and other condiments.

Standing next to the stall was an old man with white hair and beard. At this time, Xu Fan and Mo Ling had already arrived in front of the stall and were chatting with the old man with a smile.

"Grandpa Su, we are here too."

Mo Jingchun parked his bicycle nearby and took Jiang Li to the front of the stall.

Grandpa Su turned his head to look at Mo Jingchun and Jiang Li beside him, and nodded at them with a kind smile on his kind face, which was unique to a kind old man.

"Xiaochun, you've made a new friend again." Grandpa Su said tremblingly, while controlling his toothless mouth to smile at Jiang Li.

Perhaps realizing that he looked ugly and even a little scary, Grandpa Su quickly covered his mouth with his hand.

"Oh, girl, I didn't scare you, did I?"

Jiang Li shook her head vigorously. Her eyes were red, perhaps because of the heat from the aluminum barrel or something else.

"Grandpa Su, don't say that." Mo Jingchun glanced at Jiang Li calmly. "It's been a while since I last saw you. How are you feeling lately?"

"Yes, yes, Grandpa Su, we want four bowls of wonton noodles." Mo Ling was obviously very hungry and said to Grandpa Su in a hurry.

"Haha, good, I'm in good health. I'll make wonton noodles for you four right away."

Grandpa Su showed a happy smile on his face. He nodded while taking out the hand-rolled noodles from the workbench and looking at the pink and tempting wontons.

He skillfully placed them into a colander and then into an aluminum pot.

Perhaps he saw the expression in Jiang Li's eyes, so Mo Jingchun took advantage of the moment when the other two were chatting with Grandpa Su to explain to Jiang Li.

"Grandpa Su is an old man who can't sit still. He regularly sells wontons under this big banyan tree. Even though he's old, he doesn't compete with the young people outside. He just waits here and does business when someone comes."

"We discovered Grandpa Su by accident, and after chatting with him, we felt we got along really well, so we would come here from time to time to see him and eat wonton noodles."

"By the way," Mo Jingchun explained, pointing to the wontons and noodles that Grandpa Su had picked up, "they taste super good."

"Do you three still like the same taste?" Grandpa Su raised the seasoning happily. On the workbench in front of him were four disposable tableware neatly arranged, and inside were hot wonton noodles.

"Yes, that's right, Grandpa Holy Angel." Mo Ling nodded, staring at the wonton noodles on the operating table with shining eyes.

"Haha, Ling girl is saying something I don't understand again."

Grandpa Su handed three bowls of wonton noodles to Mo Jingchun and the others. Finally, he set his sights on Jiang Li. "Miss, what do you like?"

"Just add more chili peppers, thank you, Grandpa Su."

"Okay," Grandpa Su nodded after hearing this, and scooped a large spoonful of chili from the seasoning on the side and poured it into the wonton noodles. "How is it? Girl, is this enough?"

"That's enough, Grandpa Su." Jiang Li nodded as he took the wonton noodles. "My name is Jiang Li, Jiang as in ginger, Li as in farewell."

"Haha," Grandpa Su laughed cheerfully, "Jiang Li, Jiang girl, I'll remember this."

"Come quickly, waiter of the Holy Library."

Mo Ling and the others had already sat in a row beside the bluestone slabs surrounding the banyan tree, calling Jiang Li over.

Mo Ling bit off the noodles, put down his chopsticks, and used his free hand to sweep away the fallen leaves next to him.

Jiang Li nodded and walked over with the wonton noodles.

Tearing off the film of the disposable chopsticks, Jiang Li picked up a wonton while it was still steaming and put it into his mouth, but he quickly spat the wonton out and put it back on the chopsticks.

"Haha," Mo Jingchun, who was sitting on the other side, saw Jiang Li's appearance and couldn't help laughing out loud.

Jiang Li's face turned slightly red, and he seemed a little embarrassed.

"Bishop, as a high-ranking official, how can you laugh at the waiters of the Holy Library?" Mo Ling looked at Mo Jingchun angrily and stood up for Jiang Li.

Xu Fan, who was watching closely from the side, took advantage of Mo Ling's action and quickly snatched a wonton from her bowl.

"Ah!" Mo Ling cried out in shock as he watched the wonton being snatched away. "The evil tyrant actually dared to snatch the Saint Grace Tianhui Ending Wheel Dancer..."

"Alright, alright." Xu Fan quickly returned the wontons he had taken to Mo Ling. "Stop saying that nickname of yours. It makes me dizzy."

"Hmph, the evil tyrant will eventually be defeated by me."

Mo Ling looked very pleased with herself as she stuffed the wonton into her mouth. But the next second, just like Jiang Li, she spat it out and put it on her chopsticks.

"Hahaha."

"Hahaha."

"Ha ha."

Now, not only Mo Jingchun and Xu Fan held their stomachs and laughed, but even Jiang Li, who had been silent before, smiled.

Grandpa Su, who was standing next to them, had a pleased smile on his face. "It's great to be young. You're so energetic."
