Chapter 35 Hospital

Outside the emergency room door with a red light on, Mo Jingchun was sitting on a metal chair without saying a word.

After an unknown amount of time, the sound of footsteps came from beside Mo Jingchun, and then the metal seat next to him creaked and sank slightly.

Teacher Liu calmly folded the hospital bill he had just handed in and put it in his pocket.

"Can you tell me now? What happened?"

Mo Jingchun put his hands on his legs, his face full of regret.

After hearing what Teacher Liu said, Mo Jingchun was silent for a moment and straightened up.

"I'm sorry, Lao Liu blames me."

Teacher Liu sighed when he saw Mo Jingchun's face full of self-blame. "Don't worry too much. It shouldn't be a big problem."

"Teacher Liu," Mo Jingchun continued, "I was the one who pulled Jiang Li back, and she lost her balance and bumped into the wall."

Teacher Liu nodded and said, "So that's how it is."

A few hours ago, Teacher Liu, Mo Jingchun, and Jiang Li returned to the office after finishing their conversation. They were dealing with the students' homework on their desks and the lesson plans to be prepared for tomorrow's class.

It is now the last class in the afternoon. Most of the teachers in the office who do not have classes have already left work or gone to other places, so only Teacher Liu is left.

When Teacher Liu finished dealing with these things, he took a sip of the tea on the table and was about to leave, but at the corner of the stairs he met Mo Jingchun, who looked panicked, and Jiang Li, who was in his arms.

When Teacher Liu saw this scene, he was subconsciously stunned. Just as he was about to speak to stop it, he noticed the blood on Mo Jingchun's hands and Jiang Li's pale face with his eyes closed.

In an instant, countless thoughts flashed through Teacher Liu's mind, but he quickly rejected them one by one.

Teacher Liu took prompt action, took the two of them into his car, and quickly rushed to the nearest city hospital.

Hence, the previous scene happened.

Mo Jingchun looked down at the remaining blood on his hands, and thought of Jiang Li leaning in his arms not long ago, weak and powerless, and his whole body trembled.

Seeing this, Teacher Liu patted Mo Jingchun on the shoulder. After all, he was just a 17-year-old boy. How could he not be nervous when suddenly encountered such a thing?

"Teacher Liu," Mo Jingchun stood up from the metal chair, "Have Jiang Li's parents arrived? I caused this, and I will take responsibility."

The incandescent lamp above his head was shining brightly, and Mo Jingchun's expression was very serious.

"This..." Teacher Liu didn't know what to say for a moment. On the one hand, he was satisfied with Mo Jingchun's attitude. On the other hand, which parents could Jiang Li contact?

Should we contact the director of the welfare home?

"What's wrong?" Mo Jingchun looked at Teacher Liu, who was still silent, and his expression became a little anxious. "Is it inconvenient for her parents?"

"No, it's not. It's not inconvenient."

Teacher Liu looked a little embarrassed, not knowing how to tell Mo Jingchun that Jiang Li had no guardian in his current situation, and he would probably have to pay the subsequent hospital fees himself.

“Ding Dong.”

Just when Teacher Liu didn't know how to explain, the red light above the emergency room dimmed and Jiang Li was pushed out.

"Transfer to the ordinary room, 310."

Two nurses were pushing a transfer bed, and one of them, a doctor-looking man in a white coat, asked the two people outside the emergency room, "Which of you is the patient's family member?"

"Doctor, I'm his homeroom teacher."

"I'm her friend."

"I'm asking if the patient's family has arrived?" The doctor shook his head and walked forward with a list in his hand. Teacher Liu and the doctor walked together. As for Mo Jingchun, he also followed after seeing Jiang Li being transferred to the ward.

"Hasn't the patient's family come?" The doctor sat down in the consultation room and looked at the two people in front of him.

"Doctor, I'm this child's homeroom teacher," Teacher Liu said. "This child's situation is rather special."

"What's special?" The doctor put down the list in his hand. "We also have a medical form that needs the signature of the family members."

"Can I sign for you?" Teacher Liu said.

The doctor shook his head. "Oh, and he needs to fill in some identification information as well."

"Mo Jingchun, you go out first."

Teacher Liu turned around and wanted to chase away Mo Jingchun who was standing beside him.

"Teacher Liu, you..." Mo Jingchun's face was filled with confusion. He didn't understand why he was suddenly driven away?

"Go check on Jiang Li first." Teacher Liu said as he opened the door to the consultation room. "By the way, remember to apologize to him."

After Teacher Liu finished speaking, he pushed Mo Jingchun out, closed the door, and walked towards the doctor who was sitting there again.

Mo Jingchun stood in the hospital corridor. Although he didn't understand why Teacher Liu did this, there was one thing he said that was indeed right.

Apologize to Jiang Li.

Mo Jingchun turned his head to look at Ward 310 at the other end of the corridor. After hesitating for a long time at the door of the consultation room, he walked over.

"That's the doctor."

Teacher Liu sat back in his original seat and began to explain to the doctor. After hearing that Jiang Li was an orphan, the doctor opposite him fell silent for a moment and put away the medical records on the table.

"Then let her sign it herself."

"Thank you." Teacher Liu nodded and thanked the doctor.

"Doctor Han." At this moment, the door of the consultation room was pushed open and a nurse walked in. "The girl in Ward 310 hasn't completed the admission procedures yet."

"How about this," Doctor Han looked at Teacher Liu sitting across from him, "Please ask this teacher to handle this for that little girl."

Teacher Liu nodded and said, "That's what I should do."

"But what about my student? Is the situation serious?"

"Don't worry." Doctor Han smiled easily. "It's just a mild concussion. You need to rest in the hospital for two days. You should be fully recovered in about a month."

Teacher Liu nodded. When he heard that Jiang Li's condition was not serious, he breathed a sigh of relief, and the heavy stone in his heart fell.

Then he followed the nurse out of the consultation room and went to complete the hospitalization procedures.

Mo Jingchun stood outside the ward for a long time, hesitating. Although he knew that Jiang Li probably hadn't woken up yet, he was still a little nervous.

"Who are your friends?"

"I'm fine on my own."

What Jiang Li said to him on the rooftop seemed to still echo in Mo Jingchun's ears. Mo Jingchun couldn't understand why Jiang Li had such a big reaction.

Oh, Mo Jingchun thought of something and subconsciously reached out to take out his cell phone, but found nothing.

Forget it, I’ll talk to him when I get back.

Mo Jingchun took a deep breath, slowly placed his right hand on the door handle of Ward 310, and slowly turned it open.
