Chapter 45 Monthly Exam

On Tuesday of the second week, the monthly exam came as scheduled.

Perhaps because this was the first monthly exam for senior year, the students in Class 407 did not show much nervousness. Even when the exam was approaching, they still grabbed books to cover their faces and chatted with the people around them.

Jiang Li's desk had been cleared long ago. At this moment, she was reviewing the ancient poems in the Chinese textbook. Mo Jingchun, as usual, tilted her head and supported her chin, looking at the sky outside the window.

The two of them just sat there without speaking to each other. There was still a ball of oil paper and plastic bag left in Jiang Li's drawer.

The exam preparation bell rang, and everyone packed up their things and prepared to leave the classroom and go to their respective examination rooms.

Jiang Li wrote down his test number and the class he was taking the test in. He was in class 204, and Mo Jingchun was in class 206.

Although they were in different examination rooms, they were on the same floor. They went downstairs together and headed towards their respective examination rooms.

Jiang Li followed behind Mo Jingchun, letting him lead the way steadily in front.

The corridor was filled with books, making the path for students to pass through much narrower. Jiang Li carefully avoided the people around him.

I finally reached the stairs and had just taken two steps when a boy with a broom in his hand and a red face rushed in from the side.

He looked very flustered and didn't pay any attention to the students walking downstairs next to him. Instead, he squeezed up against the flow of people.

Jiang Li was bumped by him and her steps became a little unsteady, but the next second someone held her wrist tightly, helping her to steady herself.

"Be careful," Mo Jingchun lowered his head and warned Jiang Li. In his other hand, he held a transparent net bag containing some examination supplies.

Jiang Li withdrew his hand and nodded slightly.

After reaching the second floor, the two did not stop.

Jiang Li entered the examination room early, found his seat, sat down, took out a pen and prepared for the exam.

"Jiang Li, you are taking the exam here too." Xu Fan, who was walking towards him, put one hand in his pocket and waved the other hand at Jiang Li.

As soon as Xu Fan walked in from the front door, he saw Jiang Li sitting in the middle of the second row. He didn't expect to meet an acquaintance while taking an exam.

Jiang Li's eyes flashed with surprise as he looked at Xu Fan, who was sitting naturally in the empty seat next to him. "Didn't you bring a pen?"

"Ah?" Xu Fan was stunned and subconsciously looked at the stationery placed on the table by the latter.

But soon, he became smiling again and took out a few pens from the pocket where he had put them before.

"Of course I brought it. Why would I take the exam without a pen?" Xu Fan said while looking outside the classroom.

"That's it for now," Xu Fan saw the invigilator walking towards Class 204. He also stood up and said goodbye to Jiang Li. "Good luck! I wish you good grades!"

"Um."

Jiang Li nodded, "You too."

"It's covered." Xu Fan said confidently, then returned to his seat.

The first exam in the morning was Chinese, which was Jiang Li's strong point. Among the six subjects, the only one that Jiang Li found difficult was the complicated mathematics.

The examination room was very quiet. The only sound was the scratching of pens on the test papers. Some students buried their heads and wrote non-stop, some frowned and pressed their temples in deep thought, while some stretched their necks and looked around.

Jiang Li still has gauze wrapped around his head, which will be removed after this week. Mo Jingchun has been getting closer to Jiang Li since the last time they watched the stars on the rooftop.

The invisible connection seems to be deepening.

Jiang Li opened the Chinese test paper and went to another page.

In just one month, she had made three friends. This was something Jiang Li hadn't expected when she came to No. 3 Middle School. She had thought she would be alone, but she hadn't expected to make such a group of friends...

He paused with the pen tip and frowned slightly.

Jiang Li's distraction just now caused him to accidentally write a wrong word when filling in the ancient poem, and the originally neat and smooth paper was flawed because of his mistake.

The white fingers grasped the black pen and drew a horizontal line to cross out the wrong word, and then filled in the correct poem.

Wandering thoughts seem to be bringing about errors.

Jiang Li picked up the mineral water bottle beside him and took a sip, trying to concentrate on answering the questions again.

11:50, the Chinese language test ends.

Then in the afternoon, we had exams in math and English, and the next day we had exams in the remaining minor subjects.

The exam ended on Wednesday afternoon. During evening study, class representatives from each subject received the answers to the multiple-choice questions from their teachers and wrote them on the blackboard.

Currently there are English and several other minor subjects.

The students under the podium were comparing their answers, and the evening study session, which should have been quiet, became noisy.

"You don't have to get the math right," Mo Jingchun, who was sitting against the wall, tossed his math test paper over. "Just look at mine. The standard answers are here."

Jiang Li took it subconsciously and compared it with his own math test paper. There were five different options.

Mo Jingchun, who was standing by, also noticed this. He reached out and took Jiang Li's math test paper. After taking a look at it, he pointed to a few questions that were different from his.

"These questions are wrong. This is not the solution."

A rare seriousness appeared on Mo Jingchun's face. He touched his chin where a little beard had grown, frowned, and his bangs scattered beside his eyes, looking very handsome.

At least, that's what the girl who was peeking at Jiang Li thought.

"Here they come, here they come. Chinese and math are here too."

The two class representatives each held a standard answer sheet written by the teacher, picked up a paint pen and wrote the answers to the multiple-choice questions on the whiteboard on the podium.

The noisy class suddenly became quiet, and everyone took out their Chinese and math test papers and checked their answers.

Jiang Li only got one multiple-choice question wrong in Chinese, and next was math.

Jiang Li frowned as he looked at the answers on the blackboard. He had gotten five of the math multiple-choice questions wrong and lost 25 points.

More importantly, the answers on the blackboard were exactly the same as those on Mo Jingchun's test paper. Mo Jingchun got all the math multiple-choice questions right.

"Well, am I right?" Mo Jingchun looked at his test paper with some pride. "I'm known as a math genius, one of the top ten in the school."

Jiang Li nodded and looked at Mo Jingchun with some respect, because the latter had been either slacking off or daydreaming for the past month.

This also made Jiang Li think that he was a poor student, but unexpectedly he was actually a hidden academic master.

"You'll know when the results come out in a couple of days." Mo Jingchun looked at the surprise on Jiang Li's face, nodded with satisfaction, and crossed his arms across his chest, looking like I'm invincible, so you can do whatever you want.

After checking the answers for Mathematics and Chinese, the students in Class 407 wailed.

The evening study session after the monthly exam was spent scribbling over answers to various subjects.
