"You don't have to come tomorrow."
The plump female store manager with a sharp voice took out a few red bills from her pocket, slapped them on the counter, and spoke to Jiang Li and Mo Jingchun who had just got off work.
Mo Jingchun was a little confused, so he turned around and looked at Jiang Li who was also confused.
But the latter had the same doubt in his eyes.
"Don't look at me like that," the female store manager patted the money on the table, "Take off the clothes in the store, and you don't have to come tomorrow."
"Why?" Jiang Li took a step forward. "Why did you fire us? Did we do something wrong?"
"There's nothing wrong with that," the female store manager said, her fat face smeared with oil, and her whole posture looked a bit arrogant. "You guys are always chatting outside, and you're not really trying to attract customers."
"No!" Jiang Li was a little anxious.
"Besides," the female store manager pointed outside, "some customers are just chatting with you outside and not coming in to eat. What's the point? It would be better if you two just left. Maybe business would be better."
Jiang Li bit his lip, he didn't expect it to be like this.
"Rough," Mo Jingchun couldn't stand the female store manager's expression. He reached out and grabbed the money on the table and stuffed it into his pocket. "If you won't let me stay here, I'll find another place that will. Jiang Li, let's go!"
Jiang Li was grabbed by the wrist by Mo Jingchun and left the Sichuan restaurant where he worked part-time and came to the outside of a certain square.
It was the third night of National Day, and Jiang Li had lost his job. Well, along with Mo Jingchun.
Mo Jingchun looked at Jiang Li, who was frowning beside him, and took out all the money he had put in his pocket and stuffed it into her hands.
"It's okay," Mo Jingchun patted his chest and said confidently, "I'll help you find a part-time job when the time comes."
"It's not that simple," Jiang Li sorted out the money Mo Jingchun had stuffed into his hand. "I can only work part-time one day on the weekend, and only four days a month excluding special holidays. Why would I want such a part-time job?"
Although Jiang Li said so, Mo Jingchun was still very confident, "Don't worry, I will find it for you."
It turns out that Jiang Li works part-time every weekend.
"Mo Jingchun, don't think this is your fault," Jiang Li lowered his head, mistakenly thinking that Mo Jingchun was blaming himself. "Even if you didn't work part-time with me, the new store manager probably wouldn't be able to stand the fact that I only work part-time four days a month."
"Alas," Mo Jingchun waved his hands, "I'm not like you, blaming yourself for nothing."
Without waiting for Jiang Li to speak, Mo Jingchun suddenly grabbed Jiang Li's shoulders and pulled her towards him.
The next second, a food delivery electric vehicle passed by where Jiang Li had just stood.
"Be careful when you walk. Your hair is tied up, how can you not see the car?"
Mo Jingchun's voice sounded above Jiang Li's head. The two were very close at this moment. To the men and women passing by, it looked like Mo Jingchun was hugging Jiang Li from behind.
"I'm sorry, I understand." Jiang Li quickly took a few steps forward and left Mo Jingchun's arms.
Mo Jingchun didn't care about the part-time job at all. He was inexplicably happy.
Just now when she was reminding Jiang Li, her high ponytail hit her face, and the tip of her nose seemed to still have the faint fragrance of Jiang Li's hair.
Jiang Li, having lost his part-time job and considering what had just happened, fell silent for a moment. The two of them walked out of the street in silence.
After leaving the pedestrian street, a subway entrance appeared in front of them.
Jiang Li counted the money in his hand and felt that the amount was not right.
Logically speaking, with 450 yuan per person for three days, there should be nine tickets, but Jiang Li only has seven 100-yuan notes in his hand. How come there is money missing?
"Mo Jingchun," Jiang Li called out to the person next to him, "It seems we were cheated. She shortchanged us by two hundred."
When Mo Jingchun heard what Jiang Li said, he looked down and laughed.
"That's right, isn't 700 just right?"
"What?" Jiang Li frowned. "Three days for the two of us should be 900. Wait..."
Jiang Li seemed to have thought of something, and looked a little hesitant. "Is your salary lower than mine?"
"Haha, that seems to be the case."
"How much?" Jiang Li asked.
"More than 80." Mo Jingchun answered indifferently.
“…”
…………
Jiang Li finally figured it out. No wonder Mo Jingchun joined the part-time job so quickly. It turned out that he had become cheap labor.
"Mo Jingchun, actually you don't..."
"Stop, stop, stop!" Mo Jingchun quickly interrupted Jiang Li, "I already said I don't care."
Seeing Mo Jingchun's expression, Jiang Li had no choice but to stop talking, but she silently found a 50-yuan coin from her pocket, and took out 300 yuan from her three-day salary and handed it to Mo Jingchun.
"I don't want it," Mo Jingchun stretched out his hand and pushed the money back from Jiang Li's hand. "Let me be frank. I'm actually a rich second-generation. I don't care about this little money."
"No," Jiang Li was very persistent, "I can't take advantage of you."
Mo Jingchun was helpless, but he was only willing to charge 250 yuan. He said that he would not take advantage of Jiang Li. He charged more than 80 yuan a day, and three days would be almost 250 yuan.
It is now 9 o'clock in the evening, a little earlier than usual. A stage has been set up in the middle of a certain square with neon lights flashing on it. Many young people have gathered there and seem to be having a great time.
"Since we no longer have a part-time job, what are we going to do during the four-day holiday?" Mo Jingchun put his hands in his pockets and stopped next to the subway entrance with Jiang Li.
