Chapter 6 Abandonment

Jiang Li fell to her knees in front of her grandmother with a thud, holding her grandmother's hands tightly. She couldn't say anything, as she knew that this meeting would probably be a farewell forever.

Grandma seemed to have some understanding of recent events, and she seemed to understand something about Jiang Li's late-night visit.

Jiang Li let go of his grandmother's hand and kowtowed three times to her respectfully on the ground.

"Grandma, I'm leaving." Jiang Li said to his grandmother when he saw her.

"Hao, grandma doesn't care whether you are my good grandson or granddaughter, you must remember that grandma will always love you."

Grandma's voice trembled. She took out a round peace locket from her arms and put it in Jiang Li's hand.

"Grandma doesn't have any good things on her, so I'm giving this peace locket to you. Hao, if you meet someone worth entrusting your life to in the future, give this peace locket to him and ask him to love you well on behalf of grandma. Do you hear me?"

Grandma's voice was choked with sobs, and Jiang Li held the peace locket tightly, not daring to stay any longer. She was afraid that if she stayed any longer, she would not be able to leave.

Jiang Li's heart ached again, but she could only choose to turn around and step by step leave her grandmother and the home where she had lived for more than ten years.

It was already midnight and Jiang Li was only wearing a thin coat.

The bright moon hangs in the sky, illuminating the white land around it.

After walking out of the house, Jiang Li knelt down again and kowtowed three times towards the house in front of him.

When she staggered to her feet, her forehead was broken and blood was flowing.

Jiang Li no longer hesitated. Although her face was covered with tears and her whole body was in pain, she knew that there was no turning back. Jiang Li was abandoned by her family.

Jiang Li stepped deeply and shallowly in the snow. His hometown, where it was spring all year round, was actually snowing heavily today. Although there was no wind, the wounds on Jiang Li's body were still frozen and painful.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, Jiang Li finally walked through the thick snow and reached the road, arriving at the station in the distance.

When Jiang Li came to the outside of the station, she could no longer bear the pain in her heart. She sat against the wall and covered her chest.

Her self-esteem was shattered on this snowy night, and they turned into thorns that pierced into Jiang Li's heart, leaving her with no peace forever.

Snowflakes fell little by little, sprinkling on her bloodless face. Jiang Li looked at the moon in the sky and muttered to himself.

"From today on, I... am Jiang Li."
