Chapter 60 Love Like the Rain

Time flies, the National Day holiday was already a month and a half ago.

Perhaps it was because the countdown to the college entrance examination posted on the wall was getting shorter and shorter, and the entire Class 407 had completely lost the relaxed attitude they had when they first entered their third year of high school.

During the usual breaks, there are fewer people playing and joking around, and more people are studying every minute. There are also many more people staying behind to review during evening self-study classes.

Mo Jingchun's grades were very stable, always ranking among the top ten in the school. After evening self-study, he would often stay behind to tutor Jiang Li in math.

With Mo Jingchun's help, Jiang Li's grades naturally improved a lot. Amidst their busy studies, their lives seemed to become a little dull.

But only Mo Jingchun knew that he seemed to have changed.

In the past, apart from my sister and Xu Fan, I have never paid as much attention to anyone as I do now.

He would deliberately pay attention to the corners of Jiang Li's mouth, trying to capture that fleeting smile.

When Jiang Li asked him a math question seriously, his heart trembled when he was looked at by those beautiful black eyes.

He would repeatedly recall in his mind what Jiang Li had said to him.

When I was daydreaming, Jiang Li's face would inexplicably flash before my eyes.

"Jiang Li...Jiang Li." Mo Jingchun muttered to himself and subconsciously turned his head to look at the empty seat next to him.

Mid-November, late autumn.

It rained that day, and the ground was covered with yellow fallen leaves. They were beaten down by the rain, covering the earth with a new layer of makeup.

The rain was not heavy, but it kept drizzling for almost the entire day.

Mo Jingchun leaned against the glass window, looking at the gray sky and falling rain outside, feeling inexplicably irritated.

Jiang Li asked for leave today, Saturday.

Mo Jingchun was not surprised by this, because Jiang Li had caught a cold two days ago, and it was he who had insisted that she go to the hospital, but Jiang Li was as stubborn as ever. She told Mo Jingchun that she had taken medicine and still insisted on coming to school.

I didn’t come today. It seems that I finally couldn’t hold on any longer and planned to take a day off.

Mo Jingchun blinked, and a drop of rain was carried by the wind across the corridor and hit the glass window.

Mo Jingchun looked at the drop of rain, which slowly slid down, leaving a long water mark on the glass.

"Glass can also shed tears."

Mo Jingchun seemed to remember something, lowered his head and sat up straight.

I feel very lonely today, and it seems that my mood has also become worse.

Maybe it was because of the weather, or maybe it was because Jiang Li didn’t come.

This was the last class. When the school bell rang, Mo Jingchun stood up from his seat in a daze and staggered down the stairs.

This time he was neither the first nor the last.

He left the classroom and went to the stairs when the flow of people was the heaviest. The crowd was so crowded, so what kind of fate was it to meet someone whose heartbeat resonated with him?

Mo Jingchun was squeezed in the crowd, and this sentence inexplicably appeared in his mind.

When Mo Jingchun finally reached the downstairs of the senior high school department after much effort, he was surprised to find that the continuous drizzle had stopped at some point.

Mo Jingchun shook his umbrella and put it away silently.

Even without rain, there are still many puddles on the road, and you will get wet if you are not careful.

Mo Jingchun was in a daze. He didn't know what was wrong with him. Did he sleep too late last night? Or maybe... he was just too worried.

As he was thinking, Mo Jingchun had already walked to the bus stop where Jiang Li parked his bicycle.

He subconsciously looked in that direction, but the bicycle he had compensated to Jiang Li was not there, only a small empty space.

At this time, the bus arrived. Mo Jingchun got on the bus. After sitting for several stops, he realized that he had taken the wrong bus and was going in the opposite direction, so he hurriedly got off at the nearest stop.

"This is..." Mo Jingchun looked around and found that the building here seemed to be the place where Teacher Liu sent Jiang Li back.

I actually came here by accident.

Mo Jingchun didn't know where Jiang Li lived. Every time the three of them asked her, Jiang Li always hesitated and refused to tell them.

Mo Jingchun remembered what he thought of in his last class. He looked around and after determining the direction, he walked step by step towards the nearest bus stop.

"Ah, cut."

Jiang Li sat on the bed with a hot water bottle in his arms, rubbing his red nose.

She reached out and pulled out a piece of paper from the table next to her, blew her nose hard, then crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it into the trash can beside the bed.

A cold plus those months when women have their period is simply torture.

Jiang Li leaned against the window by the wall, biting his pale lips, silently enduring the physical discomfort.

If her period hadn't interfered, she would definitely have gone to school today.

The building where Jiang Li lived was not far from the gate of the Seventh Welfare Home, it could even be said to be very close. From the window of her room, she could just see the sign at the gate of the welfare home and the gray sidewalk.

“Ding ding ding.”

There was a sound of a phone call on the table. Jiang Li was stunned at first, then he struggled to leave the window and grabbed the phone on the table.

Just as Jiang Li's sight left his body, a young man in school uniform appeared on the sidewalk.

Mo Jingchun walked down the sidewalk step by step. When he passed the Seventh Welfare Home, he stopped for a short while.

His gaze first rested on the gate of the Seventh Welfare Home and then turned slightly, his eyes passing through a window of the building next door.

It was a very ordinary window, just like the building.

Mo Jingchun withdrew his gaze and walked towards the bus stop in front.

After a while, the bus came, I got on and left.

"Aunt Lin Yun," Jiang Li answered the phone. He didn't expect that it was Lin Yun who called, whom he hadn't contacted for a long time.

"Jiang Li, how is your cold?" Lin Yun's familiar and concerned voice came from the other end of the phone.

"It's okay, Aunt Lin Yun just has a cold, don't worry about me." Jiang Li showed a faint smile at the corner of his mouth, but his other hand pressed on his lower abdomen.

"You have to be careful when you're alone, okay?" Lin Yun seemed very busy and hung up in a hurry after a few words.

Jiang Li put away his phone and put it back on the table. At this moment, he felt a heart-wrenching pain in his lower abdomen again. Jiang Li sat there stiffly, with a layer of cold sweat on his forehead.

It took Jiang Li a long time to recover. She moved her body and sat back on the bed by the window, leaning her head against the wall.

Staying close to the corner seems to bring a sense of security.

In the sight, everything was still except for a bus leaving the platform right next to the Seventh Welfare Home.

The gate of the Seventh Welfare Home still stood there silently. There was no one on the sidewalk, only scattered yellow fallen leaves.

The rain has stopped.
