Chapter 7 Peace

When Jiang Li appeared in front of Lin Yun, it was already around 10 o'clock in the morning.

Since it was almost time for Lin Yun to return to Hangzhou, the local police station did not assign her any tasks. Lin Yun had nothing to do so she wandered around the police station, but unexpectedly she met Jiang Li who came to look for her.

Lin Yun looked at Jiang Li in surprise as he appeared in front of her. His black hair was disheveled, the corners of his mouth were cracked from the cold, and there was a clear wound on his forehead.

"What's wrong with you?"

Seeing Jiang Li staggering and her lips turning blue, Lin Yun hurriedly supported Jiang Li and took her towards the police station.

"Thank you...Officer Lin."

Jiang Li was breathing heavily and thanked Lin Yun for supporting her.

After arriving at the police station, Lin Yun found that Jiang Li was wet all over, and it was not convenient to stay at the police station, so she asked the director for permission and took Jiang Li to the dormitory assigned to her.

Lin Yun found some clothes and handed them to Jiang Li, indicating that she should take a shower first.

Jiang Li hesitated for a while, but still took the clothes and went into the bathroom.

As the sound of running water came from the bathroom, Lin Yun sat on the sofa and began to think about why Jiang Li came to find him.

Although Lin Yun already had the answer in her heart, she still hoped that Jiang Li could explain it to her.

Thinking of this, Lin Yun took out a plastic box from the drawer under the table. After opening it, it was filled with various medicines for treating external injuries.

“Click.”

There was a sound from the bathroom door, and Jiang Li came out wearing the clothes that Lin Yun had prepared for her.

After taking a hot bath, Jiang Li seemed to have regained some strength and was not as miserable as before.

Lin Yun waved towards Jiang Li, who walked over obediently.

"Sit next to me."

Lin Yun looked at Jiang Li who was sitting on the sofa opposite her, and couldn't help but give a reminder.

Jiang Li remained silent. She nodded and sat down.

When Lin Yun saw the latter's timid eyes, his heart seemed to be hurt.

She picked up the iodine and approached Jiang Li. When she picked up the cotton swab and wiped Jiang Li's fair forehead, the latter shook unnaturally twice.

After treating the wounds on the forehead and corners of the mouth, the sharp-eyed Lin Yun once again discovered a purple mark on Jiang Li's collarbone.

Lin Yun thought of something. She grabbed Jiang Li's hand and pulled up her clothes, only to find that her arms and thighs were covered with bruises from being beaten.

Lin Yun's face turned pale. She stared at Jiang Li and asked, "Did your family do all this?"

Jiang Li hesitated for a moment and then nodded, but then she immediately shook her head as if she had thought of something.

“Damn it!”

Lin Yun was shaking with anger. Jiang Li had only been back for a week when he was tortured all over by his family. Didn't he warn them at the beginning? It was not Jiang Li's fault.

Lin Yun took out her cell phone and was about to call Bai Ye. She wanted to ask them exactly how they did it.

However, before Lin Yun's call was connected, Jiang Li on the side hurriedly stopped Lin Yun.

"Jiang Li, don't stop me." Lin Yun's face was full of anger, but despite this, she deliberately avoided the bruises on her hands when facing Jiang Li's obstruction.

"Officer Lin Yun, please take me away."

Jiang Li loosened his hands, lowered his head, and spoke to Lin Yun.

"What did you say?"

After hearing this, Lin Yun not only put down the phone in his hand, but also looked at Jiang Li in surprise.

Jiang Li lowered her head. Now that she had been abandoned by her family, she really didn't know what to do. She only remembered that Officer Lin Yun had told her that she could ask her for help if she encountered any problems.

And now Lin Yun has become the only support for Jiang Li, who is about to drown.

"Aunt Lin, I don't mean to rely on you. I just want you to take me with you. When we get to Hangzhou, I will find a way myself."

Perhaps because he was afraid that Lin Yun would misunderstand, or perhaps because he was afraid that Lin Yun would refuse, Jiang Li hurriedly explained what he meant.

"Silly child, you."

Lin Yun sighed and shook her head. She understood that Jiang Li could not go back. If she sent her back, the family would probably bring up the paternity test again, even though it was 98% impossible to prove their parent-child relationship in a precise medical sense.

But Jiang Li is not accepted by his family. How can he survive in this world now?

If she went to Hangzhou and had no relatives, how would a girl like her survive in such a big city?

If you are not careful, you will be targeted by some illegal elements.

After thinking about it, Lin Yun still felt that it was not appropriate, but at this moment she had a flash of inspiration and thought of a solution.

Thinking of this, Lin Yun looked at Jiang Li and asked tentatively: "Jiang Li, your bone age is now 17 years old. Do you have any thoughts on continuing your studies?"

When Jiang Li heard what Lin Yun said, she raised her head slightly. She thought about it carefully and realized that she was not old enough and there seemed to be nothing good to do, so she nodded.

"Phew, that's easy."

Lin Yun patted Jiang Li on the back and said to her, "Don't worry, I will definitely help you with your problem."

After receiving Lin Yun's affirmative answer, Jiang Li sat up on the sofa with a grateful look on his face and bowed to Lin Yun.

"But there's something I have to tell you."

Lin Yun's expression was serious. She looked at Jiang Li and said, "You are not recognized by your family now, and your previous identity as Bai Hao is no longer valid. So the police will most likely classify you as an orphan. You must be aware of this."
