Chapter 85: Sending Love Across Thousands of Miles

Chapter 85: Sending Love Across Thousands of Miles

Cheng Yu's arrival caught everyone off guard.

The couple thought it was a friend from Lincheng, but they didn't expect that it was Cheng Yu.

Cheng Yu was born and raised in Beijing, and had nothing to do with Lincheng. So why did he come all the way here?

Facing several surprised glances, Cheng Yu pretended not to hear them and said calmly, "The parking lot downstairs is full. It took me a while to find a parking space."

Zhou Xianda was the first to react. He coughed lightly before smiling and saying, "This is an old neighborhood. There aren't enough parking spaces here. It's a little hard to find during holidays."

He led the man into the house.

Cheng Yu was a guest and did not have the same close relationship with the Zhou family as Chen Yiyang. However, after sitting down, he did not feel the slightest bit of restraint as a newcomer and looked very calm.

Zhou Xianda asked him enthusiastically, "Xiao Cheng, are you coming to Lincheng to play with Yangyang this time?"

"Come and take a walk." Cheng Yu said concisely.

He glanced at Zhou Zhou, who was still standing next to him, with a smile on his face. "Zhou Zhou, Happy New Year. Standing so far away, it seems like you're not very welcoming to me, your blind date?"

He bit the words "blind date" tightly, raised his eyebrows slightly and looked relaxed.

Before Zhou Zhou could say anything, Chen Yiyang next to him exploded: "Have you two ever been on a blind date?"

"Nothing." She sat back down and poured him some tea, her expression showing just the right amount of distance. "He and I only had dinner together once."

The implication is: not familiar.

When she brought the hot tea to him, she glared at him secretly, warning him not to talk nonsense.

Cheng Yu took the tea and raised his eyelids to take in her warning.

But he had been a fool for a long time, so he didn't care about her weak warning.

"Yes, we only had dinner together once." He stretched out his long legs, blew the tea with his eyes downcast, and spoke in a lazy tone.

In front of the elders, he showed no sign of restraint. He took a sip of tea before looking up, and said with interest, "Even though we only had one meal together, it feels like we have met many times."

"Do you feel that way?"

Zhou Zhou's voice was slightly cold: "No, it's just your illusion."

"Really? What a pity." Cheng Yu smacked his lips, unable to tell whether he was happy or angry. He smiled with a slight regret while shaking his head.

Cheng Yu usually speaks in this tone and style, so the Zhou couple didn't find it too strange.

The last time they met for dinner, they, as experienced people, noticed that the relationship between the two was a little subtle, and this time it seemed even more strange.

Lin Yue hurriedly said with a smile: "Weren't you all trapped in Yangyang's villa before? For a week, didn't you meet more than once?"

"It's what my aunt reminded me of." Cheng Yu glanced at him with a half-smile.

Zhou Zhou automatically ignored his gaze, feeling that Cheng Yu was here to cause trouble today, and was afraid that her parents didn't know about their relationship.

She was just playing around, but she didn't want to bring this private matter to her parents.

"Since you're here for fun, after dinner, let Yangyang and Zhouzhou take you around Lincheng." Zhou Xianda said, "Although Lincheng is not as prosperous as the capital, it also has its own unique charm."

"Thank you, uncle. It just so happens that I also want to see Lincheng..." He paused deliberately, and then said, "...what fun is there."

Zhou Zhou: “…”

These seemingly ordinary words actually have an intriguing subtext.

Mr. and Mrs. Zhou didn't notice anything strange and exchanged a few more words with him with a smile.

It was almost dinner time and they were getting ready to cook.

They moved to Beijing many years ago, and this house has been uninhabited since Zhou Zhou's grandparents passed away.

There are no servants here, and Zhou Xianda cooks dinner himself.

Lin Yue followed along to help, leaving the space for the young people.

After following his parents and confirming they had entered the kitchen, Zhou Zhou finally felt relieved: "Why did you come here so suddenly?"

The instigator drank tea leisurely: "Isn't it surprising?"

How could she possibly be pregnant? It was a complete shock.

He lifted his eyelids and glanced at her. "Didn't you say there are no fun men in Lincheng? I was afraid you were too bored, so I sent myself here to cheer you up."

Zhou Zhou said with a forced smile: "That's what I said fifteen minutes ago. You can fly from Beijing to Lincheng in fifteen minutes?"

Facing her questioning, Cheng Yu's expression remained unchanged, and he slowly said, "Prediction."

What he said was quite reasonable.

Zhou Zhou snorted coldly and turned to look at Chen Yiyang: "He came running towards you and you didn't say a word? Are you my childhood friend or his?"

"Well, as the third party, I have to be your punching bag." Chen Yiyang's face was full of resentment, and he spread his hands out innocently. "You can't blame me, I only found out after you came here. Who knew that our brother Yu would travel thousands of miles to send you for love?"

He was also shocked when he received Cheng Yu's call.

I thought he came to see him, and before I could express my gratitude, I didn't expect Cheng Yu's first words to be - didn't you say we were going to Zhou Zhou's house for dinner tonight?

It took Chen Yiyang a minute to remember that he seemed to have said this in the group last night.

Send love thousands of miles away?

Zhou Zhou glanced at Cheng Yu suspiciously, but couldn't see any trace of love on his face.

When she ran to her parents, her intention to create a miracle was obvious to everyone.

Chen Yiyang didn't want to get involved in their affairs, so he got up and slipped into the kitchen.

"Come with me." Zhou Zhou stood up.

Cheng Yu glanced at her, followed her slowly, and swaggered into her room.

The house is not big and the furnishings in the rooms are clear at a glance.

There was an animation poster with yellowed edges on the wall, and books from her high school days on the table. It was obvious that her childhood memories were left here.

Zhou Zhou closed the door and turned around to find Cheng Yu standing by the bookshelf, looking at a photo frame.

"How old are you?" he asked.

On one shelf, there were many frames filled with photos of Zhou Zhou. Among them were two group photos, both taken with Chen Yiyang.

The eyebrows and eyes in the photo are still very childish, and you can vaguely see the shadow of Zhou Zhou.

Zhou Zhou glanced at her and said, "About thirteen."

Cheng Yu compared the photo with her current face and smiled faintly: "You didn't have eyebrows when you were in junior high school."

Zhou Zhou: “…”

Not having eyebrows in junior high school was her biggest pain.

We have to admit that everyone has a particularly ignorant and naive childhood.

Her eyebrows were very light, not very thick. She heard from someone that if she shaved her eyebrows, they would grow thicker again, so she made up her mind to shave her eyebrows.

The process of shaving and letting the hair grow back is very long. It took half a year to restore the original eyebrow shape.

When her eyebrows grew back, they didn't become thicker at all. She had been the eyebrowless hero for half a year in vain.

If happiness would come after suffering as expected, being ridiculed for half a year would not be a big deal. But everything remained the same, and only she was left hurt.

Being brought up after so many years, Zhou Zhou angrily pulled the photo frame back from his hand and said, "Don't look at it."

I wanted to put the photo back, but then I thought better of it and stuffed it in the drawer, out of sight and out of mind.

Cheng Yu laughed beside him.

A laugh escaped from the corner of his lips, but he caught a glimpse of Zhou Zhou's unhappy eyes out of the corner of his eye. He clenched his fists and slowly suppressed his laughter.

"It's still pretty good-looking." He made up for it.

I've already laughed, this compliment is not credible at all.

Zhou Zhou suddenly glared at him again: "Why did you come to Lincheng?"

Cheng Yu walked around the room, touching this and looking at that, and said in a lazy voice: "Didn't Yizai say that he would send you thousands of miles for love?"
