Chapter 28 I gave you a chance, huh?

Shu Bai opened his mouth.

But before Shu Bai could speak, Li Yuheng quickly interrupted, "I've given you a chance, okay? Don't want to touch me? OK, let's have a drink then."

He nimbly got up from the ground, nonchalantly rushed over to the bottles, and pawed at them with his paws.

Shu Bai: "..."

He didn't speak, but walked over with a dark look in his eyes and sat down opposite Li Yuheng.

"You want to drink, right?" Shu Bai's voice was calm. "Okay."

He raised his paw and pointed at the bottle of pink fruit wine: "Pour it."

Li Yuheng looked at him suspiciously, feeling that the cat's calmness was somewhat abnormal.

But he still used his ghostly power to control the bottle, slowly pouring the pink liquid into the paper cup.

"Here." Li Yuheng pushed the full glass towards Shu Bai. "Try it. This has a low alcohol content, which is suitable for someone like you who has never tried it before."

Shu Bai didn't even glance at the glass of wine; his gaze was fixed directly on Li Yuheng's face.

"It was you who drank it."

Li Yuheng paused, "...What?"

“I said,” Shu Bai said, enunciating each word clearly, “it is you who drink.”

"…What's the meaning?"

"It's nothing. You went through all that trouble to get all this just to drink, right? I'll keep you company. You drink first, I'll watch."

Li Yuheng stared at Shu Bai, trying to discern something from that hairy face.

But the cat's expression management at this moment was perfect; apart from its eyes being a little deeper than usual, there was no other clue.

"I'll drink first, then I'll drink first." Li Yuheng scoffed, grabbing the glass of fruit wine with his paw. "You think I wouldn't dare?"

He lowered his head and tentatively licked it.

It's cloyingly sweet, with a hint of artificial flavoring, and a very faint alcohol taste.

"Tsk, what is this stuff?" Li Yuheng clicked his tongue in disgust. "It tastes like sugar water."

Shu Bai looked at him quietly without saying a word.

Li Yuheng felt uncomfortable under his gaze, so he lowered his head and took a few more gulps. The pink liquid dripped down his chin and wet the hair on his chest.

The glass was quickly emptied.

"Burp." Li Yuheng let out a loud burp and threw the empty cup on the ground. "It tastes awful. I'll get another one."

He used his supernatural powers to open the green beer bottle again, and the foam surged out.

"This smells somewhat appetizing," Li Yuheng muttered, then lowered his head to drink again.

The bitterness of the beer made him frown, but it was better than the cloying sweetness of the fruit wine.

He gulped it down.

Shu Bai remained silent, watching him as if observing some kind of experiment.

After the second beer, Li Yuheng felt a little tipsy, but he was still quite conscious.

“Hey, silly cat,” he shook his head and looked at Shu Bai, “Aren’t you going to drink? It’s boring.”

Shu Bai finally made a move.

He stretched out his claws, hooked the bottle of clear liquor, and the cap popped open, instantly releasing a strong, pungent smell of alcohol.

"Who said I wouldn't drink?"

Shu Bai's tone was flat. He didn't use a cup; he simply lowered his head and took a sip from the bottle opening.

The movements were practiced and without the slightest hesitation.

"You...you haven't drunk it before?!" Li Yuheng pointed at Shu Bai, his voice rising with surprise.

Shu Bai put down the wine bottle without changing his expression, and his breathing didn't even falter.

He licked his lips, a barely perceptible hint of mockery flashing in his eyes.

"Oh, just kidding. I can drink any kind of alcohol."

He paused, then added, with a touch of self-righteousness:

"I like white the most."

Li Yuheng stood there with his mouth agape, stunned, not reacting for several seconds.

I've been scammed.

That stinky cat actually lied to him!

Shu Bai looked at Li Yuheng's dazed expression and took another swig of liquor.

"What? You're allowed to lie to cats, but I'm not allowed to lie to dogs?"

Li Yuheng stared at the bottle of clear liquor in Shu Bai's hand, his dog-like eyes burning with fighting spirit.

"Okay, you're awesome." He leaned forward, his nose almost touching the bottle. "Then I'll have this one too."

He stretched out his paw to reach for the bottle.

With a flick of her wrist, Shu Bai deftly moved the wine bottle aside, avoiding his touch.

"etc."

Li Yuheng tossed his head in dissatisfaction: "What are you waiting for? Are you afraid I can't outdrink you?"

Shu Bai ignored his provocation and simply looked him up and down.

“Stand up first,” Shu Bai pointed to the ground with his paw, “and spin around twice.”

Li Yuheng was stunned for a moment, then scoffed, "Spinning around? Do you think I'm a circus performer?"

"Dare not?" Shu Bai raised an eyebrow, his tone light and casual, yet it precisely struck at Li Yuheng's competitive spirit.

"I'll switch then! I'm not afraid of you!"

Li Yuheng suddenly stood up. Perhaps because the wine he had just drunk was starting to have an effect, or perhaps because he stood up too suddenly, he swayed slightly, but immediately regained his balance.

He took a deep breath and began to spin in place.

One lap, two laps.

The movement wasn't particularly steady, and the tail was stretched out stiffly to maintain balance.

But he did complete two full rotations before stopping.

Although I felt a little dizzy, I managed to stand up and looked up at Shu Bai.

"How was it?" he asked smugly. "Perfectly steady!"

Shu Bai stared at him expressionlessly, stretched out its right front paw, revealing its pink paw pad, and then slowly retracted its other toes, leaving only the two middle ones.

How many is this?

Li Yuheng was almost amused by this childish question: "Second! Do you think I'm a newborn puppy?"

Shu Bai remained unmoved, then changed his gesture and retracted one of his toes.

"And now?"

"One!" Li Yuheng answered quickly and loudly, with a hint of impatience, "Can't you give me something more challenging?"

"Okay." Shu Bai readily agreed. "What is one plus one?"

“…Two.” Li Yuheng felt his intelligence had been insulted.

"Three times seven?"

Twenty-one!

"One hundred minus forty-eight?"

"Fifty-two!" Li Yuheng almost shouted. He took a step forward, his claws crunching on the fallen leaves.

"Hey, you silly cat, are you serious? That little bit of beer and sugar water, you think it can knock me out? You're seriously underestimating my alcohol tolerance!"

He felt perfectly clear-headed, his mind was working very fast, but his body was a little hot and his ears were ringing.

Shu Bai stared at Li Yuheng for a few seconds.

"Okay." He finally relented, pushing the bottle towards Li Yuheng. "You drink."

Li Yuheng immediately stretched out his claws to reach for the wine bottle, his movements somewhat impetuous and reckless.

He lowered his head and took a big gulp from the bottle opening.

The spicy liquid burned in my throat, far more stimulating than beer or fruit wine.

He forced himself not to cough, but the tips of his ears twitched uncontrollably.

Just as he was about to raise his head and boast that this was nothing special,

A strong wave of dizziness crashed over his head.

Everything in front of me began to spin and blur.

He tried to steady himself, but his limbs seemed to be out of his control.

The next second, his heavy dog head lurched forward uncontrollably, landing precisely on Shu Bai's back.

Li Yuheng completely collapsed onto the ground, his head still stubbornly pressed against Shu Bai's back, motionless.

Only his chest heaved violently from the burning sensation of the alcohol, emitting heavy, alcohol-laden breaths.

Shu Bai: "…………"

He turned his head to look at Li Yuheng, who was lying on his back and had completely lost consciousness.

The dog's mouth was slightly open, its tongue lolling out a little, and its breathing became heavy and even; it was clearly dead from drunkenness.

Shu Bai looked at him silently.

Moonlight shone on Li Yuheng's unconscious face, and his usual arrogant and irritating expression vanished, leaving only a calm and unguarded look.

Shu Bai stretched out its claws and gently nudged Li Yuheng's head.

Li Yuheng groaned in his sleep, but instead of moving away, he seemed to have found a more comfortable pillow, rubbing his head against his back and pressing down even more firmly.

"waste."

Shu Bai muttered a curse under his breath, his tone revealing no emotion.
