Chapter 89 Newly Transferred S-Rank Guide (Gong) x Allergy-Relieving S-Rank Sentinel (Shou) 20

As soon as Shu Bai finished speaking, Li Yuheng's left hand was already supporting the back of his neck, his warm palm touching his slightly cool skin, pulling him forward.

A kiss landed.

Unlike any other kiss before, this one began with an almost solemn tenderness.

Li Yuheng's lips first gently pressed against his, then moved back and forth, as if confirming something, or as if silently comforting him.

Shu Bai did not close her eyes.

His dark eyes were open in the dim light, clearly reflecting the silhouette of Li Yuheng so close to him.

The monitoring dial on Li Yuheng's left wrist emitted a faint glow, and that cool halo illuminated the eyes of both of them.

Those eyes, which were always filled with mockery, cynicism, or feigned innocence, now shed all their superficial pretense at such close range.

Shu Bai saw a kind of focus that he had never clearly recognized, yet seemed to have always existed.

His eyes were deep, as if they held an entire starry sea, and at the center of that sea, he was the only person.

It surged with an undisguised heat, an almost greedy appreciation, and something that suddenly threw Shu Bai's heart into disarray.

like.

These two words entered Shu Bai's mind without warning and with clarity.

It's not the guide's responsibility to the sentry, not the possession of "ownership," and not even just sexual attraction.

I just...like it.

It was Li Yuheng who I felt a deep, yet simple, and complex, affection for him.

Li Yuheng likes him.

That's why they're so clingy, so talkative, and try every possible way to get close to him, using all sorts of outrageous or clumsy methods to try and carve out a place for themselves in his world.

All the behaviors that seemed strange before suddenly had an explanation.

Li Yuheng seemed to notice his distraction and stepped back slightly, their noses almost brushing against each other.

He blinked, his long eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings. The intense emotions in his eyes hadn't fully subsided before they were covered by a familiar, sly smile.

It was as if it were asking, "What's wrong?"

In the blink of an eye, Shu Bai suddenly came to his senses.

A strong, tingling sensation spread from the back of Li Yuheng's head, where his palm was pressed against.

Like a tiny electric current, it slithered through his ear, sending shivers down his spine.

His ears quickly heated up, becoming so hot that he could almost feel the surging of blood in them.

Shu Bai closed her eyes in a panic.

It's as if closing your eyes can shield you from that overly direct gaze, and hide your sudden insight and the equally intense reaction that arises from it.

Li Yuheng's kiss deepened the moment he closed his eyes.

The faint light from the monitoring watch went out silently, and the room was plunged into complete darkness.

The next second, the streetlights outside the base suddenly turned on, and the dim yellow light shone through the window, casting the overlapping shadows of the two people onto the wall.

The subtle sounds of lips and teeth entwining were amplified infinitely in the silence, so clear that they sent shivers down one's spine.

The sound was thick and moist, mixed with breaths that were sometimes rapid and sometimes long, weaving an invisible net in the dim light.

Shu Bai's back pressed against the cool wall, while Li Yuheng's scalding breath was right in front of him. The interplay of ice and fire left him nowhere to escape.

After an unknown amount of time, Shu Bai suddenly turned his head away, his breathing unsteady, his voice trembling slightly: "...Enough."

Li Yuheng's breathing was also a little erratic. He did as he was told to step back slightly, but he did not let go of the hand that was supporting Shu Bai's neck.

Shu Bai immediately looked down at her left wrist.

The faint light on the monitoring dial flickered intermittently in the dim light.

But the pointer remained firmly stuck on the line where yellow and green met, unmoving, as if it had been welded there.

His pale pupils contracted slightly, and his brows furrowed deeply.

How is that possible?

He clearly felt the peace and stability of his mental landscape, and the restlessness and stinging that were constantly tearing at his nerves almost completely disappeared.

The body's reaction couldn't be faked; the thrill from that kiss far surpassed any previous emotional stimulation.

Damn it, this watch is lousy...

Li Yuheng also saw the stubborn pointer.

He clicked his tongue softly, his tone a mixture of displeasure and a hint of aroused competitive spirit.

"It seems... the quantity is insufficient."

Before he could even finish speaking, he didn't give Shu Bai time to react. He tightened his grip on the back of Shu Bai's neck and kissed him again, leaving no room for refusal.

"Ugh! Li Yuheng, you—!"

Shu Bai's protests were all shut down.

After an unknown amount of time, Shu Bai suddenly pushed Li Yuheng away, looking down at her watch with disordered breathing.

The pointer remained stubbornly stuck on the critical line, refusing to budge.

When he looked up again, he met Li Yuheng's unusually bright eyes, which were brimming with eager anticipation and a hint of abnormal fervor.

A warning bell rang loudly in Shu Bai's heart.

If we kissed again, I really don't know what would happen...

"Li Yuheng!" Shu Bai wiped his wet lips with the back of his hand, his tone cold and hard, "Enough!"

Li Yuheng seemed not to hear him, licked his lips, and leaned in again, still wanting more: "Still not enough? It's okay, we have plenty of time, we can take it slow..."

Before he could finish speaking, Shu Bai delivered a merciless elbow strike, slamming it hard into his chest.

"Ugh!" Li Yuheng winced in pain, letting out a muffled groan, his movements instantly halting.

Taking advantage of the brief moment, Shu Bai quickly rolled over and got out of bed.

The touch of his feet on the cold floor brought a refreshing stimulation, and his legs even felt a little weak, but he forced himself to steady himself.

Without even glancing at the guy on the bed who clearly still wanted to continue, he bent down and deftly slipped on his shoes, the tying motion slightly messy due to his haste.

That's all for today.

Shu Bai's voice was slightly hoarse from the kiss, yet resolute.

He opened the door, and the light from the outside corridor instantly flooded into the dimly lit room, outlining his slightly tense profile.

"Um?"

Li Yuheng propped himself up, his voice tinged with surprise and unfulfilled frustration, "But the pointer hasn't been there yet—"

"Never mind, let's finish this for today."

Shu Bai didn't even turn his head, interrupting him as he strode out.

The door slid shut quickly behind him, completely cutting off Li Yuheng's "But..." and the still ambiguous atmosphere in the room.

The cold light from the corridor shone on his face. Shu Bai took a deep breath, trying to suppress the still pounding heart in his chest and the lingering burning sensation on his lips.

He raised his hand, vigorously rubbed his lower lip with his fingertips, quickened his pace, and almost fled towards his dormitory next door.

The monitoring dial on my wrist, with its stubborn pointer, still hovered mockingly in that suffocating position under the cold white light.

It remained completely still.

Breaking records!

Breaking records!!

This is outrageous!!!
