Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Chen Baichuan said a few more random words, and carefully reminded Mu Yunting not to abandon him to find a partner. He also joked that Mu Yunting should cherish this last time together: "When the lockdown is lifted, once your simple superior-subordinate relationship is gone, you can go your separate ways~"

Mu Yunting was speechless, putting the processed mung bean sprouts back in their place. Before he could say anything, Chen Baichuan hung up the phone first: "Get along well with her, hanging up!"

Mu Yunting picked up the phone from the floor and went to the study. After the phone call, he suddenly remembered something. Mu Yunting went straight to the desk and searched through the three layers of drawers beside it.

Where is it? It should be in this apartment...

The drawer was filled with small odds and ends, some of which Mu Yunting couldn't quite remember. He searched for a while and found what he was looking for in the corner of the third floor.

A mobile phone was pressed among various pens and inks. It was the phone that Mu Yunting had discarded a few years ago.

Mu Yunting took it out and brushed his fingertips across the dust-free screen, remembering why he had left it there. He plugged the phone in and waited until it showed two bars of charge before pressing and holding the power button to turn it on.

He'd retired this phone four years ago, but for some reason he'd never thrown it away. Probably because he hadn't used it in ages, it took Mu Yunting half an hour to boot it up. He opened his video album, scrolled down expertly, swiped to a familiar date, and expertly clicked on one of the videos.

The screen first went dark, followed by a noisy sound, the scene taking place in the dark outside. After a few seconds, the screen shook, revealing a large face. The night was too dark, the phone was shaking, and the images were blurry. Su Qiong blinked, a faint blush visible on her face. She leaned closer to the screen, as if trying to discern the person before her.

Her brows relaxed, obviously recognizing herself. Su Qiong: "It's me~" She hadn't smiled for two seconds when her eyebrows raised, "What's wrong with you?!"

"What's going on? What's going on...Oh, I'm going on!"

"No, my name is...what's my name?" The woman in the picture looked confused. Suddenly she heard a sound and turned her head.

"Su Qiong, are you still awake?" A familiar voice rang out from the screen. It was Mu Yunting's own voice. The screen flickered, and Su Qiong must have gone from squatting to standing. The camera could only capture her neck and chin.

Mu Yunting had a headache and hurried over to support Su Qiong, who was standing unsteadily, for fear that she would fall.

They had just attended a developer's dinner together. Su Qiong was new to the workplace and didn't know much about alcoholic beverages, so the glass she was holding was filled with strong liquor. After three hours, as soon as Su Qiong left the building, she suddenly put her hand on Mu Yunting's shoulder and said sternly, "Boss, wait a minute."

Mu Yunting was surprised, stopped and turned to look at her.

"I seem to be drunk and might start to act crazy..." As soon as the words fell, Su Qiong felt dizzy and her head felt heavy. She tried her best to control her brain, but it felt like her head was like a hammer smashing everywhere.

Mu Yunting watched as Su Qiong's hand slipped from his shoulder, her entire body swaying. Worried she might fall, he quickly held onto her arm and asked, "Are you okay? Can you still walk?" He had just been praising Su Qiong for her alcohol tolerance, but he hadn't expected the alcohol to kick in now. Mu Yunting glanced around, then reluctantly carried Su Qiong to their car.

The front seat required a seatbelt, and Su Qiong was drunk and unruly, so Mu Yunting had no choice but to send her to the back seat and get in the driver's seat himself. After turning on the navigation and driving for a while, Su Qiong suddenly said, "Boss, I feel like I'm going to vomit."

Mu Yunting was shocked and said quickly, "Don't vomit, I'll stop the car right away, stop the car right away, just bear with it for a while..."

Perhaps afraid of vomiting it out as soon as she opened her mouth, Su Qiong remained silent. Mu Yunting quickly turned into a parking spot on the street, parked the car, and hurriedly got out to open the back door for Su Qiong.

Mu Yunting comforted himself, it's okay, if he vomited, it would only be a scrapped car. He gently helped Su Qiong out of the car and slammed the door shut.

Mu Yunting: "Are you feeling better now? There's a park nearby, do you want to go for a walk?"

Su Qiong was confused: "Where is my cell phone? I want my cell phone!" She felt around, held the handlebars with one hand, and tried to open the door to get in.

Mu Yunting was really worried that she would vomit if she got in, so he quickly grabbed her and bent down to open the door. Mu Yunting looked around the car, but it was pitch black and he couldn't see anything. How could he know where Su Qiong had put her phone? He probably dropped it and got stuck somewhere in the car.

Mu Yun was afraid that Su Qiong might get into trouble while he was looking for his phone in the car, so he took a quick look and closed the car door when he didn't see the phone.

"Where is my cell phone? I can't lose my cell phone!" Su Qiong said anxiously and kept moving around.

Mu Yunting didn't dare to pull her hard. He had no choice but to think that he couldn't reason with a drunk person. He took out his cell phone from his pocket and coaxed her, "I found it. It's here." Then he handed the phone to Su Qiong.

Su Qiong turned on the screen, looking puzzled: "That's not right? Why can't I turn on my phone?" "The phone can't be turned on? Why can't the phone be turned on?"

Thinking that he should be fine next to her, Mu Yunting took the phone and unlocked it for her. "Isn't it unlockable?" He handed the phone back to Su Qiong. He supported Su Qiong, not wanting her to get drunk on the street, and led her to a nearby park. "Let's go to Xingxing Bar. There should be a restroom in the park."

Su Qiong: "Bar? What bar?"

Mu Yunting: ...

Su Qiong stared at the glowing screen of her phone peacefully. It didn't take long for the two of them to reach the park.

Mu Yunting breathed a sigh of relief, snatched the phone from Su Qiong's hands, and asked Su Qiong to look in the direction of his finger, "Go in, wash your face in the sink, and I'll return the phone to you." Washing your face should make you sober, right?

Su Qiong stared at "her" phone in Mu Yunting's hand and curled her lips. How could the boss even snatch the employees' phones? She walked unsteadily towards the bathroom sink.

Mu Yunting stared at her, afraid she would fall. But it was inconvenient for him to go to the girls' restroom, so he could only follow her with his eyes. He watched Su Qiong wash her face successfully. Although her face was dripping with water, it was enough to make him breathe a sigh of relief.

Mu Yunting thought to himself, "At least I didn't fall or vomit." He searched his pockets but couldn't find a tissue. He took off his tie and gently wiped the water off Su Qiong's face.

She thought she could go home right away, but now she's still outside. Mu Yunting, now drunk, stood at the bathroom door, unable to bear the feeling of her body and wanting to wash her face. She turned to Su Qiong, who seemed somewhat sober, and said, "You stay here, I'm going to wash my face too." She unlocked her phone to attract Su Qiong's attention. She also told Su Qiong to keep her phone safe, so that if she disappeared, he could borrow someone else's phone to call her.
