The commander drew his gun angrily, his eyes wide open with bloodshot veins, and was about to chase towards the door. He wanted to catch the doctor!
The adjutant quickly grabbed the division commander and said, "Division commander, please be kind and stop causing trouble."
The commander struggled, spitting and shouting, "Let me go! I'm going to bring her back! If she doesn't come back, I'll kill her!"
The adjutant was almost mad, and without regard for the distinction between superiors and subordinates, he yelled at him: "You let them guard this place and not let the civilians in. They scared away the doctors who came to work! Tell me yourself, how many doctors have you scared away this morning?"
"Can you blame me for this? My soldiers are almost dying, but they are still hesitating. I didn't kill them on the spot. They are lucky." The division commander roared louder than the adjutant.
Everyone: "..." If all the doctors are killed, who will save them?
"So, it was you who scared all the doctors away?" Qiao Mingyang and Qiao Ruoran went downstairs. The surgeon who was supposed to perform the operation ran away, and the anesthesiologist and several assistants were temporarily taken to the emergency department.
"So what if it's me? There were more than 10,000 of us, and only these few were left overnight."
The division commander attacked indiscriminately like an angry lion. He let out a hysterical roar at Qiao Mingyang.
Suddenly, his body fell to the ground.
Old Tan retracted his fist. He was wearing work clothes and there was still a bit of cement hanging on the trowel in his hand.
Old Tan's movements were so quick that no one around him could react. The adjutant was terrified, but after squatting down to check, he saw that the division commander had just fainted. He calmly called a soldier to help carry the man away.
The commander fainted, but he is fine.
He was also annoyed with the commander! This commander was simply poisonous.
After their original division commander disappeared, the commander of the first regiment took over the position of division commander, but he died soon after.
Over the past few months, the division has been cursed, with several successive division commanders dead. Now, out of a total of over 10,000 soldiers, only a little over 1,000 remain wounded.
The current division commander was a company commander within the division. He was a skilled charge, but his brain wasn't very effective and he acted impulsively. If it weren't for him, the entire division wouldn't have been nearly wiped out in yesterday's battle.
This morning, the division commander was swearing like a mad dog, pulling out his gun at every turn, and scaring away the doctors and nurses who came to work. The adjutant was filled with resentment, and if it weren't for the inconvenience of doing so, he would have knocked the division commander unconscious.
Old Tan knocked the man unconscious, without even looking at the ground, and spoke to Qiao Mingyang as if nothing had happened:
"Qingqing said that if you can't perform the surgery today, you should go back first."
"It can't be done. The doctors have all run away." Qiao Mingyang's face was as gloomy as water. The inpatient department was also packed with patients. All the beds were occupied, so they had no choice but to leave.
Just at this time, Qiao Ruoran asked weakly: "Brother, we are fine now anyway, can you help them?" The Qiao brothers and sisters all practiced martial arts, and it was common for them to suffer some external injuries. Both brothers and sisters knew how to treat the wounds simply.
Qiao Mingyang said coldly: "Why help them? They are the ones who prevented you from having the surgery."
"But they're bleeding..." Qiao Ruoran looked at her brother eagerly. She knew that surgery was impossible anyway! Her brother had medicine and spiritual spring water in his space. He could save as many as he could. She was worried about letting her go home like this.
"Where is Lin Qingqing?" Qiao Mingyang ignored his soft-hearted sister and asked Old Tan instead.
"She asked me to come over and build a house first." Old Tan said as he turned around and pushed a small cart with tents and other things in it.
"Are you providing accommodation for them? I want to help." Qiao Ruoran's eyes lit up. While Qiao Mingyang wasn't paying attention, she came out from behind him and reached out to help get the things.
Qiao Ruoran was so fast that Qiao Mingyang couldn't stop her. Seeing that she had already taken the initiative and it was difficult to pull her away, Qiao Mingyang stood there with a dark face.
Several soldiers nearby who were less seriously injured saw Lao Tan unloading things, and knowing that they were for them, they all came over to lend a hand.
There were at least a hundred people outside, in the freezing cold. The seriously injured were carried on stretchers, while most of the wounded could only lie on the ground. Not to mention quilts, they didn't even have mats. Their lips and faces were purple and pale from the cold.
Everyone started setting up the tents. Halfway through, Liu Qiang pushed over a cart of charcoal and stainless steel basins.
He unloaded his things and hurried away. There was porridge cooking on the stove at home, and he had to go back and watch the fire.
When the soldiers saw the charcoal and the basin, without being told, those who could move their hands and feet came over and put the charcoal into the basin. With the help of the fire warrior, they lit the charcoal fire.
Burning charcoal in the open air doesn't work very well, but getting close to it can always restore feeling to frozen hands and feet.
"Ah!" Several little soldiers cheered happily!
"Brother~" Qiao Ruoran looked at Qiao Mingyang eagerly. Qiao Mingyang was very depressed, but he nodded. He turned and left. After a while, a small cart full of firewood came from the corner.
Several more fires were lit at the hospital entrance. Some soldiers took off their helmets and shouted to the water-ability users to add some water. They used firewood to support a rack and boiled hot water.
The soldiers' faces were still tired, but gradually they began to smile.
It was approaching eight o'clock.
Survivors, patients and their families gradually gathered around the hospital. Seeing this scene, some chose to leave, while others chose to stay and help set up tents.
Lin Qingqing was still loading the cart. With tears in her eyes, she took out dozens of blankets and air-conditioning quilts that she had bought at the trading center yesterday, and also sorted out some first aid hemostatic and bandage supplies.
God knows how big a house these things can be bought for if they are sold.
The tents that Lao Tan set up looked a bit strange. They all had steel frames, but only silver-white sun-protective cloth on the top.
"Let me build the wall." Qiao Ruoran said, using her earth ability to build a wall on the flat ground. However, the ground in front of the hospital was made of cement, so there were many potholes.
Qiao Mingyang couldn't bear it any longer and directly filled the hole that Qiao Ruoran had dug. He took out several large pieces of oilcloth and worked silently.
Seeing the oilcloth, Old Tan quietly hid the plastic wrap Lin Qingqing had given him. He thought every penny saved was a penny earned. Qingqing's space was small, and besides collecting metals and food, she didn't have as many other things as Qiao Mingyang.
When Lin Qingqing returned, wheeling the necessary items, she saw the tent taking shape. The originally lifeless scene suddenly changed, and the hospital entrance looked like a temporary camp.
"Old Tan, come here." Lin Qingqing shouted at him.
Old Tan put down what he was holding and told the wounded soldier what to do next.
Then he trotted to Lin Qingqing.
