Chapter 37

Chapter 37

Seeing that he swallowed the medicine obediently and no longer went crazy like before, Shen Ah Heng's heart finally settled down. He raised his hand to wipe the water stains on his chin. Just as he was about to get up and go outside to ask someone to find some medicine to treat the external injuries, his wrist was suddenly grabbed by someone.

The force was not too strong, but it was held tightly, with a hint of unconscious dependence.

Shen Aheng was forced to turn around and saw that Ashina Yu's eyes were still covered with a layer of mist. His chaotic gaze was glued to her, and his fingertips gently hooked the corner of her clothes. His voice was hoarse and a little anxious that she would leave: "Aheng, don't go..."

The word “Ah Heng” made Shen Aheng startled, and after reacting, he explained softly: “I’m not leaving, I’m just going to find some medicine for your injuries, don’t you see that your ankle is still bleeding.”

But Ashina Yu seemed not to hear, or as if she deliberately didn't want to listen. Her eyes were still confused, and her pale fingers clenched tighter. Her other hand also came up and gently grasped her sleeve, muttering over and over again: "Don't go... Don't leave me..."

There was no more hostility in his tone as when he was sober, only a hint of fragility left from the fear of being abandoned, which made people feel sad.

Shen Aheng was dragged by him and could not move. She pursed her lips helplessly. They couldn't keep wasting time like this. Either she would die of exhaustion or he would die of excessive blood loss.

So Shen Ah Heng had to move his upper body with difficulty and shouted towards the door: "Is anyone there? Come in!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Mu Kun outside the door heard the sound and hurriedly pushed the door open, but when he saw the scene in the room, he suddenly stopped.

Seeing his own master holding the girl's wrist and leaning his head slightly towards her, Mu Kun suppressed his surging desire to gossip and quickly lowered his head, not daring to breathe. "Young Master, what do you want?"

"Do you have any medicine for external injuries? If so, give me some."

Shen Aheng glanced at Ashina Yu’s ankle, which was still bleeding, and pursed his lips helplessly, his voice crisp.

Mu Kun followed her gaze and immediately understood. He quickly responded, "Yes, young master, yes."

After he finished speaking, he turned around and ran out. After a while, he came back with two small medicine bottles, handed them to Shen Aheng with both hands, and quickly explained how to use them.

After saying that, he didn't dare to look again and slipped out with light steps.

The moment he closed the door, Mu Kun couldn't help but smile secretly, and couldn't help feeling proud of his wise move.

He was right! His master treated this Central Plains girl differently. He looked so dependent on her, without a trace of his usual coldness and ruthlessness.

After the man left, Shen Ah Heng picked up the two bottles of medicine, unscrewed the stopper of one of them, lowered her head and smelled it, confirming that there were no ingredients that were incompatible with the pills she had just fed Ashina Yu, and then she felt relieved.

She squatted down and gently held Ashina Yu's injured ankle. As soon as she sprinkled the hemostatic powder on the wound, Ashina Yu subconsciously shrank and curled up his toes slightly, obviously in pain.

But he did not struggle. Instead, he slowly relaxed and let Shen Aheng's fingertips gently wipe around the wound and then apply medicine, showing a habitual obedience.

After Shen Aheng finished treating one ankle, he moved to the other side, carefully avoiding the broken porcelain slag on the corner of his robe, cleaned the abrasion on the other ankle, and sprinkled it with medicine powder.

During the whole process, Ashina Yu was very well-behaved. Hun Dun's eyes were always glued to her face. Even when his vision was blurred, he never moved away at all, as if he was afraid that she would disappear in the blink of an eye.

After Shen Aheng treated the wound on Ashina Yu's body, he was about to get up, but he forgot that the corner of his clothes was still in the other party's hand. He was not prepared for a moment and almost stumbled and fell back. He was a little helpless and a little angry: "Can you let go a little? How can I move if you hold me like this?"

Upon hearing this, Ashina Yu clenched her fists even tighter. Her long eyelashes cast a faint shadow under her eyes, and she hummed with a hint of grievance: "No..."

Shen Ah Heng was really helpless because of him pestering her, and was afraid that if she really angered him, he would make a fuss again, so she had to soften her tone and promise: "I really won't leave, I'll stay here. If I leave, I'll be... just a puppy, is that okay?"

Ashina Yu stared at her face. The effect of the medicine in his body had not yet fully taken effect, and his bones were still aching. But seeing Shen Ah Heng frowning and his cheeks slightly puffed up, as if to say "I will be really angry if you make trouble again", he pondered for a moment with his remaining consciousness. If he didn't let go, Ah Heng would really be unhappy.

After hesitating for a long time, Ashina Yu slowly let go of her hand, as if he was reluctant. He just stopped pestering her and curled up on his knees obediently, waiting for her.

Shen Ah Heng put the medicine bottle back on the table, then bent down to pick up the calligraphy and painting on the ground, lifted up the table and chairs and pushed them aside.

After cleaning up, she asked someone outside to bring in a basin of hot water to wash Ashina Yu.

Soon Mu Kun came in happily carrying a copper basin.

"Young Master, I can handle this kind of work. You are not the one who can do it."

Mu Kun wanted to step forward as he spoke, but he caught a glimpse of his master's eyes, which had never left the girl in front of him, staring straight at him with a possessiveness that would not allow anyone else to get close to him. He thought for a moment, and tactfully handed the towel over, then ran away again.

Shen Aheng was speechless. He walked to the basin with a towel and soaked it with curses: "You used to serve me every time, but now, I, the head of a sect, have to serve you and wipe your face. If you hadn't been poisoned, I wouldn't bother to care about you."

Ashina Yuhundun's eyes lit up, he blinked, and without saying anything, he slowly raised his hand, took the towel from her, and clumsily wiped it on his face.

His movements were so slow that they even touched the hair on her forehead, but his movements revealed his obedience and he didn't want to bother her anymore.

Seeing that he was willing to do it himself, Shen Aheng nodded with satisfaction.

After Ashina Yu finished wiping his face, he pointed to the bed not far away and said, "Go to bed. After you get up, you can observe the effect of the medicine."

Ashina Yu didn't move, and there was a hint of resistance in her eyes. He wanted to look at her more, but when he saw Shen Aheng's frown, he was afraid of making her angry, so he had to slowly stand up by supporting the wall, and moved step by step to the bed and lay down.

As soon as his body touched the mattress, he couldn't help but look up and ask, "Will you... leave?"

Shen Ah Heng was amused in his heart, but he replied: “If I don’t leave, I still have to watch you and observe the reaction of the new pill. Besides, even if I want to leave, those people outside your door will not let me go.”

Ashina Yu seemed to be completely relieved. He stared at her with his dark eyes for a long time, without even his eyelashes moving.

It was not until the effect of the medicine in my body slowly took effect and I felt sleepy that I closed my eyes reluctantly.

Shen Aheng sat by the bed and watched over Ashina Yu for half the night. Seeing that his breathing was always steady after he fell asleep and he no longer showed the restlessness caused by the poison, he slowly let go of his hanging heart.

In the end, I couldn't help but feel sleepy anymore, and I couldn't help but lie down on the edge of the bed for a nap, supporting my head with my arms. I fell asleep in a short while and didn't even notice when the candle went out.

-

The next day, when Shen Aheng woke up, Ashina Yu was still in a coma, breathing lightly and steadily.

Shen Ah Heng supported his numb arms and sat up, quietly moving his stiff body, looked at him again, and then walked out the door as lightly as possible.

Mu Kun was sitting at the door taking a nap. When he heard the door open, he raised his head and saw Shen Aheng coming out. Thinking that something had happened to Ashina Yu, he hurriedly got up and asked, "Young Master, is our master okay?"

"He's fine, he's still asleep."

Shen Ah Heng answered, thought for a moment, took out the brown porcelain bottle containing the pills from his arms, handed it over, and instructed: “This is the remaining medicine. If he still feels uncomfortable when he wakes up, let him take another pill.”

Mu Kun quickly took it with both hands, and just as he touched the porcelain bottle, he saw Shen Aheng turning around to leave, and couldn’t help but call her: “Young Master, where are you going?”

Shen Aheng stopped and looked at him in confusion: "He's almost well now, why should I stay here if I don't leave? Do I have to stay here all the time? I didn't sleep well last night just because of watching him."

If anyone else had said such disrespectful words to Lord Lingchi, they would have died long before tomorrow. But when it came from this girl's mouth, Mu Kun didn't dare to object at all. He glanced into the room and hesitantly made way.

Looking at the girl's graceful back without even turning her head, Mu Kun felt a little headache. If the adult woke up and didn't see anyone, he might get angry again.

Shen Aheng returned to Shichun Inn, asked someone to bring hot water for washing, ate some steamed buns and porridge, and then dived into bed.

She had stayed up all night last night and was now extremely sleepy. Her eyelids were drooping and she wrapped herself tightly in the quilt and fell into a deep sleep in a short while.

When she woke up, the sun was already setting outside the window and her stomach was rumbling with hunger.

Shen Ah Heng rubbed his waist, which was heavy from sleeping, and sat up. He simply tidied his hair and went downstairs to find something to eat.

As soon as I stepped onto the stairs, I felt something was wrong.

At this time of day, the lobby is usually full of diners, and Xiaowu and several other waiters are busy running around. But today it is unusually deserted. The lobby is so quiet that only the sound of breathing can be heard. There is not even a sign of a diner. Several waiters are standing in the corner, their shoulders hunched in fear.

Shen Aheng slowed down his pace and followed their line of sight, only to find that there was a large group of guards in Western uniforms in the lobby, each holding a scimitar in his hand, with an upright posture, surrounding the door tightly.

And there was an unusual person sitting at the window table where she often sat.

Ashina Yu was not wearing her usual purple robe, but only a plain outer shirt with the collar askew, as if she had just woken up and ran here without taking care of herself.

His pale fingertips were tightly gripping the edge of the table, his knuckles turning blue. His once clear eyes were now covered with a layer of shadow, and his whole body was wrapped in a sinister aura, as if he was going to destroy everything in the next second.

The guards beside him were all on edge, not daring to even breathe.

Hearing footsteps, he suddenly looked up, his eyes red and frightening, as if soaked in blood. A violent aura that almost wanted to destroy everything surged around him. He stared at her intently, his voice as cold as ice: "Why, are you running again?"
