Chapter 15: Can't I kiss him after he's awakened?

Chapter 15: Can't I kiss him after he's awakened?

The karaoke speakers were turned down to the lowest volume, and the soft white light from the overhead lights automatically turned on, brightening the room.

"Senior, she's drunk... she's talking nonsense."

Dai Lan slammed the microphone back onto the stand, staring in shock at the unexpectedly appearing Yi Zhiyan. She couldn't tell if Yin Xiao's words were a dream or a mistake. After hesitating for a few seconds, she stepped forward to explain.

"Mmm." Yi Zhiyan responded softly, putting one arm around Yin Xiao's waist as if to help her up and take her away.

Dai Lan observed silently, unable to pinpoint what was strange, and hesitantly raised her hand to stop them.

"Let go of her! Let go! I'll call security!" Zhao Xiaoxun rushed forward first, patting Yi Zhiyan haphazardly and grabbing his coat sleeve to make him let go.

Dai Lan was startled and quickly went over to persuade her, "Xiao Xun, you know him, you know him! This is our senior!"

Zhao Xiaoxun wouldn't let go, insisting on pulling Yin Xiao back into his arms, holding her arm with one hand and hugging her waist with the other, panting heavily from exhaustion.

Dai Lan ran to Yin Xiao's other side. Seeing that she was not quite conscious, she could only put her arm on her shoulder and whisper a reminder to the "bloodthirsty" Zhao Xiaoxun.

"It really is a senior! I know Yin Xiao too!"

Zhao Xiaoxun let out a breath and casually blew her bangs aside. "Senior? Even a senior can't take her away."

Yi Zhiyan briefly explained: "I took her home."

Zhao Xiaoxun wouldn't listen to a word she said. "Who are you kidding? She just moved back home today. We don't even know where she lives. How could you?"

Yi Zhiyan remained silent for a while, then took out his phone, opened his contacts, and was about to make a call when someone pushed the door open and entered from behind.

"Xiaoxiao, Sister Yi is here... Oh my god! What's going on?" Chen Weiqi pushed open the door, staring in shock at Yin Xiao, who was being supported by two people. "I was only out for half an hour, how did she get drunk?"

"I can't stop it..." Dai Lan wailed.

Yin Yi untied her scarf, quickly followed her in, went straight to the table, picked up the bottle and glanced at it, "It's okay, this amount is still okay, she just got a little tipsy, she'll be fine in a while."

Dai Lan tentatively asked, "Sister Yi, are you picking her up now? We were planning to call you after this is over."

"I wanted to wait until you were done before taking her home. We've already had our fun and drinks, so let's drink to our hearts' content..."

She paused, then helplessly pointed to the unconscious Yin Xiao, "But she's so useless. She was so drunk she couldn't even speak properly, yet she still dared to answer Mom's call. As soon as she answered, she gave herself away. We have to take her back right away, otherwise I'll get scolded too."

After Yin Yi finished speaking, she picked up her sister's brown handbag from the sofa, hung it around her neck, and then supported her right side to reassure Dai Lan so she could let go. She then gestured to Yi Zhiyan to support her on the other side.

She waved, nodded to those around her, and moved with difficulty toward the door.

"He's the one I asked to help out. I'm leaving now. You guys have fun..."

After leaving the private room, we took the elevator smoothly to the first floor. The lobby on the first floor was crowded with chatting guests, a stark contrast to the quiet atmosphere upstairs.

As if a power button had been suddenly pressed, Yin Xiao began to speak incessantly, sometimes telling stories to herself, and sometimes talking to passersby.

After listening to this several times, Yin Yi couldn't take it anymore. She pressed her head against her shoulder, pinched her cheek, and warned, "Shut up."

Yin Xiao immediately quieted down, obediently wrapped her arms around her neck, and walked forward unsteadily.

Stepping outside, a biting wind swept through, and the cold air stung their faces. Yin Yi quickly zipped up her jacket, reached out and pressed her hand against Yin Xiao's shoulder, wanting to help her put on her down jacket hood to avoid catching a cold.

Unexpectedly, she came up empty-handed.

On the other side, Yi Zhiyan quickly grabbed her fluffy hat and pulled it down, skillfully covering Yin Xiao's head completely.

Yin Yi raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised, her critical gaze sweeping over his entire body. She moved her lips, preparing to take advantage of Yin Xiao's drunkenness to extract some information from her fake brother-in-law.

Just as she was about to speak, Yin Xiao, who was almost asleep in her arms, suddenly pounced on her again, pinched her chin, and grabbed her without any gentleness, startling her.

"Little darling, can't you behave yourself? I'm getting old, I can't take your antics."

Yin Xiao pouted, looking at her with teary eyes, "Sister, you're back?"

Yin Yi looked up at the sky speechlessly, then resignedly let her pinch her cheeks. "Yes, yes, I came to keep you company as soon as I got back today."

"So are you leaving again tomorrow?"

Yin Yi teased her, "Yes, don't miss me too much."

Yin Xiao muttered to herself, "I'm alright..."

Yin Yi was struggling to support half of her weight as she walked forward when she heard this and was about to scold her as a "heartless little thing" when she heard her continue muttering.

“I’m okay, but Mom can’t sleep because she misses you. When she can’t sleep, she has to take medicine. Last time she saw the news about the incident in your neighborhood, she stared at her phone without moving for a second. Later, Dad and I took her to the hospital, and the doctor said her depression was very serious.”

A stone suddenly pressed down on her heart. Yin Yi's eyelashes trembled, her breathing became heavy, and she asked softly, "Why didn't you tell me?"

“She wouldn’t let us talk about it, threatened us with taking medication, and even threatened me not to change my study abroad plans because of her… Luckily, I’m smart, I got a guaranteed place in graduate school, so I can stay in China with her without worry.”

Yin Yi took two deep breaths and said softly, "I won't leave anymore. I'll stay and keep her company. It only takes Anlin a little over an hour to drive to Qianzhou. I'll go back whenever I have time."

She paused for a second, patted her sister's back, and coaxed her, "Don't take all the blame on yourself."

Yin Xiao looked up, her watery eyes sparkling, "Are you really not leaving?"

"I'm not leaving."

Yin Xiao wrapped her arms around her neck, soft strands of hair brushing against her chin, tickling her slightly. She smiled helplessly, tightened her arms around her, and slowed her pace.

Reaching the end of the stone-paved path, Yin Yi glanced at the parking lot sign, then turned and asked, "Yi Zhiyan, which side did you park your car on?"

Yi Zhiyan stood under the streetlight, raised his hand and pointed to the right, "Inside."

Yin Yi nodded, but before she could grab her sister and move her to the right, she saw her sister jump up as if she had springs, spread her arms, and turn to hang on Yi Zhiyan.

Yi Zhiyan was clearly caught off guard. He grabbed her waist in a slightly flustered manner, then silently let go. His hands hovered in the air for a moment before finally falling naturally to his sides.

Are you Yi Zhiyan?

Yin Xiao grabbed his shoulder, looked up at him intently, and although she was drunk and not fully conscious, she spoke very clearly.

Yi Zhiyan suppressed the turmoil in his eyes and nodded in response.

Yin Xiao suddenly reached out, her cool fingertips touching his brow, then gently gliding over his brow bone, nose, and lips, the subtle lingering feeling slowing and lengthening. The streetlights cast dappled light on her face, making her smile even more pronounced in her dazed expression.

"Yi Zhiyan? That nose, that mouth... it really looks like it. I thought I was dreaming again." Yin Xiao tilted her head and muttered to herself.

Yi Zhiyan paused for a moment, stiffly raised his hand to stop her misbehaving, and glanced sideways at Yin Yi, who was watching with her arms crossed.

Yin Yi's expression was unpleasant, as if she could no longer bear it. She stepped forward and grabbed Yin Xiao's hands, pulling them backward several times, but to no avail.

"You really have no conscience." She instantly lost her temper, slapped Yin Xiao's back fiercely, pointed randomly to the side, and casually tried to cover it up, "Oh, I saw your car, it's pretty close, so I won't help you, you can have it."

Yi Zhiyan politely called out to her, "Aren't you going together? I can give you a ride."

Yin Yi shook her head and smiled bitterly, "I have to go in again... I need to pick up someone, you should know him, Qi Chen."

"He's here too?"

"Yes, this kid has called me more than a dozen times, he's going crazy."

Yi Zhiyan pondered for two seconds and calmly pointed out, "Sister Yi, he's pursuing you."

“But I already refused.” Yin Yi casually picked up her bag. “Alright, forget about him. You take good care of Xiaoxiao today. I’m leaving her with you. I need to check on her tomorrow.”

She stared intently at him, her gaze unfriendly.

“Young Master Yi, I know you have an agreement, but you must not forget the boundaries.”

After saying that, Yin Yi turned and left, the crisp sound of her high heels slowly fading into the wind.

Yi Zhiyan withdrew his gaze, lowered his head to support Yin Xiao's swaying head, and asked softly, "Are you dizzy?"

"Ugh..." Yin Xiao puffed out her cheeks and wrapped her arms around his neck.

He leaned down and put his arm around her waist. "Shall I carry you on my back?"

"good."

Yi Zhiyan squatted down, took her wrist, and gently lifted her onto his back, supporting her steadily.

Yin Xiao's face was pressed against the back of his neck, her breath spraying evenly onto his skin, bringing a continuous increase in temperature.

She lowered her chin and mumbled to herself. The faint smell of alcohol was carried away by the wind, and a subtle fruity aroma filled the air, dominating all his senses.

"Yi Zhiyan!" She suddenly slapped him. "Let me tell you, I had a dream today!"

Yi Zhiyan smiled and followed up on her question, asking, "What dream?"

"I dreamt of a handsome guy, the kind who looks slim in clothes but muscular when he takes them off. He suddenly pulled his shirt up to his chest, revealing very sexy abs. I counted them: one, two, three..."

Yi Zhiyan clenched her fingers and straightened her lips as she listened to her count with great interest.

"Eight yuan, ten yuan, twelve yuan!"

Yi Zhiyan asked her without changing his expression, "A handsome guy with twelve-pack abs?"

"Um."

He couldn't help but complain, "You really see things clearly in your dreams."

"Yes, I could not only see it clearly, but I almost touched it."

"You're still touching me?" Yi Zhiyan stopped, exhaled, and said in a deep voice, "When are you going to change this habit?"

"When I touch the person I like," she said, tightening her arms around him and whispering as if in a dream, "I'll only look at him from now on."

Yi Zhiyan gave a meaningless twitch of his lips, silently walked to the car, opened the door, gently helped her to a seat, and then got into the car.

Just as he sat in the driver's seat, he received a message from Lu Wen, reminding him that Ruan Zheng, the heiress of Huandao Media, was about to return to China and that the plans might change. He hastily replied that he knew and tossed his phone aside.

The heater in the car was very strong, blowing his sleeves back in an arc. He patted his sleeves, wearily raised his hand to rub the corner of his eye, and turned his head to look back.

Yin Xiao was fast asleep with his eyes closed, his bangs blowing wildly in the wind. He raised his hand and carefully adjusted the wind direction.

The car was so quiet that only the sound of the heater could be heard. Yi Zhiyan habitually reached into his pocket, took out a box of mints, poured out two, and popped them into his mouth without thinking.

"Are you eating a mint?" Yin Xiao suddenly struggled to sit up and leaned closer, the scent of peaches filling the air around her.

"Hmm, this cool and bitter taste gives me a sense of security and helps me stay awake." He looked at Yin Xiao's confused eyes, not wanting to hide it from her while she was drunk, and directly revealed the reason.

Yin Xiao's gaze slowly shifted to his palm, and she said unexpectedly, "I want to eat it too."

Yi Zhiyan hesitated for two seconds, then poured one into her palm. Watching her put it in her mouth, her expression wasn't as distorted as he had expected; instead, it looked like she was eating chocolate.

Yin Xiao sat back in the back row, satisfied, and leaned back in her chair, seemingly falling into a deep sleep again.

Yi Zhiyan blinked, and the coolness in her mouth dissipated faster than usual; she even caught a faint hint of fruity aroma.

It was already nine o'clock when I got home. There was only a semi-transparent gauze curtain drawn inside, and the flashing neon lights outside were a bit dazzling.

Yi Zhiyan hesitated for a second, and before he could turn on the light, the girl who had fallen asleep in his arms suddenly grabbed his wrist, pulled him to the sofa without hesitation, and pressed his shoulders down with both hands.

He suddenly tumbled into the soft sofa, his hands unconsciously bracing themselves on the cushions behind him, his fingers sinking into the gaps, and he looked up to meet Yin Xiao's bright eyes.

"What's wrong?"

Yin Xiao didn't answer. Unexpectedly, she climbed onto the sofa, bent her knees and wrapped them around his waist, kneeling directly on him. Her hands gripped his collar, and she leaned forward slightly, her nose almost touching his chin.

Through the gaps in the curtains, the lights of the nearby streets fell onto the balcony, creating dappled patterns of light.

As the light and shadow shifted, Yin Xiao's features were shrouded in a hazy glow. Her fingertips inadvertently brushed against his Adam's apple, leaving a burning sensation.

Yi Zhiyan lowered his eyes to look into her eyes, slowed his breathing, and moved his lips, but could not utter a sound.

The next second, the light dancing before my eyes was covered by shadows, the sweet aroma of fruit filled my nostrils, and an unfamiliar softness precisely covered my lips.

For a moment his mind went blank, and he subconsciously raised his hand to press down on her slender shoulder, but her haphazard kiss firmly choked his breath.

His steady, suppressed breathing gradually became disordered with each breath, his body enveloped in the scent of fruit and mint, assaulting his clear consciousness.

With a flick of his fingers, the outward pushing motion instantly transformed into a pulling motion. His hand lifted up to support the back of her neck, actively catching each of her advances.

The warm, moist air mingled on their lips, and the suppressed desire nearly spiraled out of control.

Yin Xiao seemed to tremble slightly, her lips parted slightly, and her tongue probed between his teeth, the bitter minty smell becoming even stronger.

Yi Zhiyan snapped back to his senses, tilted his head back and released her, breathing slightly heavily. In the dim light, he traced her features inch by inch with his eyes.

Yin Xiao's pupils were dark and clear, with a layer of mist in her eyes, but there was no trace of drunkenness. Her long eyelashes trembled slowly, and she pursed her lips as if she were a little dazed.

She didn't avoid his gaze; her hot breath brushed against his neck, constantly pressing closer and caressing him.

Yi Zhiyan's eyelids twitched, and he narrowed his eyes, a bold idea flashing through his mind. He half-embraced her and squeezed out a firm sentence from his dry throat.

"Yin Xiao, are you sober now?"

Yin Xiao wrapped her arms around him, her fingers resting on the back of his neck, casually playing with his hair, completely uninhibited, her tone light and gentle.

"Yeah... What? Can't I kiss you now that I'm sober?"

Yi Zhiyan looked at her silently, his eyes unreadable in the dim shadows.

Yin Xiao held back for a moment, then relaxed her shoulders, supported herself on the handrail to stand up, and said indifferently.

"Alright, I'll transfer the fine to you later, then we'll be even."

Before she could finish speaking, her sweater sleeve was unexpectedly tugged, causing her to drop and be pulled back onto the sofa by a force that was neither too strong nor too weak.

The cushion behind her waist bounced, and the familiar scent of mint pressed against her lips, swallowing her breath.
