Chapter 29. A little touch while panting isn't too much to ask, is it?

Chapter 29. A little touch while panting isn't too much to ask, is it?

My mind went blank for a second, then the bold and explicit words on the box flashed through my mind, enlarged and emphasized, before exploding in my head.

Yin Xiao paused for a moment, then slowly straightened up. "No, it's not like that."

Yi Zhiyan didn't speak, leaning against the table, arms crossed, looking at her with a faint smile on his lips, devoid of emotion, fleeting in an instant.

Yin Xiao hesitated for a long time, then anxiously observed his expression. Seeing that he didn't intend to speak and his expression was indifferent, she couldn't tell whether he believed her or not.

She blinked and repeated, "It really isn't."

Yi Zhiyan shifted his gaze from her face, gently gripping the square box in his hand; the plastic wrap made a sharp, grating sound as it rubbed together. He placed the box on the table, glancing at it again, then bent down to unscrew the ointment in his hand, extending his palm upwards towards her.

"Apply the medicine."

The light shone on the transparent shell, momentarily blinding Yin Xiao. She immediately straightened her back, took it without thinking, and casually blocked Yi Zhiyan's attempt to help.

"Thank you, I can do it myself."

She took the ointment and the hot box from the table, hid them in her arms, and rushed into the bedroom without paying attention to Yi Zhiyan's reaction.

After locking the door, she casually stuffed the blue box under the pillow on the bedside table, sat by the window, and absentmindedly applied the medicine.

The coolness on the back of her hand spread, and the refreshing scent of mint wafted into the air. She sniffed, and her mind became much clearer.

After wringing out the ointment, she sat cross-legged on the carpet and took out her phone to call Yin Yi.

"Sis, did you forget something in my shopping bag?" she asked softly.

"No." There was a two-second silence on the other end of the call, followed by a burst of cheers that seemed to hit Yin Yi like she was at a party or something.

Yin Xiao frowned and moved her phone further away. Soon, she heard the cheers gradually weaken and Yin Yi's indistinct voice becoming clearer.

"Oh...you mean that box of condoms?"

"Mmm." Yin Xiao forced out a breath through her nose.

"I bought this especially for you."

"What? I..." Yin Xiao was completely taken aback by this possibility and stammered for a long time before she could utter a coherent sentence.

Yin Yi laughed heartily, "Oh, no need to thank me too much. It's normal for an older sister to think more about her younger sister. Just be sure to take good care of yourself. But listen to my advice, don't take the initiative in this kind of thing."

Yin Xiao was annoyed, "I didn't take the initiative!"

"Oh, okay then..." Yin Yi was clearly just going through the motions, giving her a few instructions while circling the box, before suddenly changing the subject.

"I almost forgot to tell you, I'm going back to Qianzhou tomorrow to take care of some things and visit my parents. Mom also said she's going to come back to Anlin with me next week to see you. You... be careful with Yi Zhiyan, your parents might be planning something unexpected."

The topic changed so quickly that Yin Xiao didn't react immediately. "What should I be careful about?"

"Room allocation." Yin Yi asked confidently, "Am I wrong?"

"..." Yin Xiao replied in a muffled voice, "That's right."

"So I suggest you sleep in the same bed beforehand to get used to each other, so that there won't be any flaws."

After hanging up the phone, Yin Xiao stared blankly at her phone. She got up and stood by the bed, staring at her pillow for a long time. Yin Yi's suggestion was like an unbreakable bubble, firmly occupying her thoughts.

Frustrated, she tugged at her hair, unable to sort out her thoughts, so she decided to grab her clothes and go take a shower.

After washing up, she stood in front of the foggy mirror, gently wiping away the moisture with her fingertips, and looked at the conspicuous red mark on the side of her wrist.

Yi Zhiyan's emotional turmoil today seems to have started from seeing the red mark.

She went into the bedroom, picked up the ointment, and applied another layer. This time, she couldn't help but think of Yi Zhiyan's expressionless face again.

He would worry about her if he saw the red mark, so why didn't he show any emotion when he saw the small box on the ground? He just asked a question, as if it were a routine matter, and didn't ask any further questions about how the box appeared.

It all passed so uneventfully... making her awkwardness and embarrassment seem completely unnecessary.

Yin Xiao rubbed her eyes, which were red from the hot water, let out a heavy breath, and without hesitation rolled up the pillows and blankets on the bed, opened the door, walked to the bedroom door at the other end, and raised her hand to knock.

The door opened quickly, and the warm yellow light in the room poured out instantly, like spilled solid paint, strikingly impactful. Yin Xiao blinked instinctively, her gaze falling uncomfortably on the only clear figure in front of her.

Yi Zhiyan looked like he had just taken a shower; his hair was still damp, limply covering his forehead, exuding a casual and lazy air. He wore a loose, grayish-white pajama top, the collar open to his chest, revealing his collarbone and the mole on the side of his neck, radiating a clean yet sharp allure.

"Looking for me?" He naturally took the pillow and blanket from her arms, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"Hmm." Yin Xiao's arms suddenly felt empty. Her eyes drifted aimlessly across the carpet by the door, her fingers twirling the hem of her silk pajamas. She explained slowly, "My sister just called. She said Mom and Dad are coming to Anlin with her in a couple of days, and she reminded us to prepare to stay in the same room..."

Yi Zhiyan leaned against the wall, holding a pillow in one hand. Without hesitation, he pulled up her wrist to take a look. He probably noticed the traces of ointment she had applied, and his tight lips relaxed a little.

Yin Xiao's long explanation got stuck in her throat for no apparent reason. She twitched her eyebrows, opened her palms and let them hang naturally at her sides, tilted her head back and chuckled, and then spoke directly.

"Can I stay here? I'll share your bed with you."

"To avoid being exposed?" Yi Zhiyan looked down at her.

“Only fake things will be exposed. Aren’t we real?” Yin Xiao shook her head and asked rhetorically, word by word.

Yi Zhiyan smiled, a hint of amusement finally appearing in his eyes. He turned to the side and pulled her into the bedroom.

The ceiling light was off in the room, and the projector's light enveloped the room.

Warm yellow ambient lighting surrounds the floor-to-ceiling windows, gradually spreading towards the walls. Shadows dance on the dark floor, while the projected image is projected onto the entire wall, creating a clear and dreamlike atmosphere.

"Are you watching a movie?" Yin Xiao stopped and looked up.

Yi Zhiyan put the things in his hand on the bed, sat down on the sofa chair in front of the bed with his knees slightly bent, and raised his hand to adjust his black-rimmed glasses.

"Yeah, it's a Mexican movie. Qi Chen recommended it several times in the group chat. I heard it's helpful for my research. I just watched a few minutes of it. Want to watch it together?"

Yin Xiao sat down next to him, felt a warmth on her shoulder, and turned her head to find that he had draped a cashmere blanket over her shoulders. It wasn't thick, but it was enough to keep out the wind.

She hooked her fingers around the tassel and stretched it out a bit, nodding subconsciously, "Okay."

The progress bar rewinds, and the projected movie starts playing again from the beginning. The images on the screen glide smoothly, the curtains in the room are drawn tightly, and the atmosphere is just right, drawing you into the story without you even realizing it.

Yin Xiao leaned to one side, her fist loosely clenched and resting on her chin, her brows furrowed, her attention completely locked on the arguing male and female leads in the movie.

The screen suddenly went black, and a few incomprehensible Spanish words popped up from the indistinct background music. Yin Xiao sat up straighter, widening her eyes to try and see how the story was unfolding, but unexpectedly, a figure kissing flashed before her eyes.

She froze for a few seconds, then sprang up, exclaiming in surprise, "Huh?"

A short, light laugh rang out beside me, the tone rising easily at the end, as if someone had been amused by her.

"You...you didn't see?" She turned to Yi Zhiyan and gestured, "Weren't they arguing just now, hitting each other's weak points? Luna's eyes were all red from arguing, and now they're doing..."

Before he could finish speaking, the screen's lighting changed, and the angle of the light fell perfectly, hitting the tightly clasped fingers, then gradually pulling away to the clothes scattered on the floor.

Yin Xiao fell silent upon seeing this, stiffly pursing her lips, her fingers involuntarily curling up.

The air in the sealed room flowed gently and silently, with only the incessant panting sounds coming from the stereo.

From the porch to the bedroom, the embraces and kisses gradually escalate into nibbling, and the yearning gazes of the male and female protagonists follow the camera downwards. The caresses gradually increase in intensity, and the colors of the scene shift from dark to light, creating a vortex of longing and possessiveness in everything captured on camera.

The air in the room seemed to freeze, and no one reacted. Despite the curtain wall separating them, a certain flowing energy seemed to cross the boundary, and the surrounding temperature rose eerily.

Yin Xiao lowered her head helplessly, tucking her elbows into the crevice of the pillow, a layer of sweat rising on the back of her neck.

Her gaze was fixed on the white wall directly in front of her, occasionally glancing up to observe the plot, but each time she saw only the creases in the collar and the messy hair that were trying to conceal the truth...

"Are you still watching? If you're sleepy, get some rest."

Yi Zhiyan suddenly leaned closer, his fresh fruity scent crashing into her nostrils with an elusive, intrusive quality.

Yin Xiao snapped out of her reverie and turned her head to meet his bright brown eyes. There was no emotion in his eyes; his words seemed like a casual, concerned greeting.

“Look…” She tugged at the blanket on her shoulder, “Now that I’ve already looked, of course I have to finish looking.”

Yi Zhiyan didn't speak, his gaze seemed to linger on her shoulder for a second, then he raised his hand to lift a stray lock of her hair, his fingertips lightly tracing her chin.

Yin Xiao was speechless for a long time before being brought back to consciousness by the sudden burst of white light in the movie.

A WeChat message from Yi Zhiyan popped up at the top of the screen.

[Isn't it amazing? Three plot twists in one minute.]

Yin Xiao rested her chin on her hand, composed herself, and looked at the motionless boy beside her. "Aren't you going to reply to my message?"

“I won’t reply. Qi Chen is asking me what I think of this movie.” Yi Zhiyan shook his head. “I haven’t thought of any good words yet. If I reply now, I might scold him.”

Yin Xiao almost laughed at his feigned fierce expression, but then paused, remembering something, and coughed lightly, "Does Qi Chen watch movies often?"

"He watches them all the time, in all sorts of languages, and he loves them all."

Yin Xiao continued, "Does he often recommend you?"

"Yes, he'll post it in the group after he finishes reading it, urging Fang Yiwen and me to read it."

"So you saw them all too?"

Yi Zhiyan didn't answer, but chuckled.

His determined gaze swept over her eyebrows and eyes, drifting towards her lips, composed yet revealing a strange desire; his pupils shone like glass washed clean.

"What exactly do you want to ask?"

“I…” Yin Xiao paused for a second, then pointed to the wall, “You really like watching this?”

Yi Zhiyan nodded casually, "Watching movies? I love watching them."

Feeling frustrated, Yin Xiao threw off the blanket and stood up. Her phone slid from her knee onto the carpet with a loud thud.

Yi Zhiyan raised his hand and pulled her back onto the sofa, gently pressing the back of her head, his breath tickling her slightly.

"Just kidding, I don't like watching movies, and I don't know what the story is about. I just wanted to find something to watch today to distract myself."

"Hmm?" Yin Xiao felt his soft fingertips pressing against the back of her ear, and reacted a beat late. "Distracting me?"

“Otherwise, I would think… to rush up to your childhood friend and beat him up.” Yi Zhiyan’s eyes darkened slightly. “But I don’t have the authority to do that.”

Yin Xiao tilted her head, "No identity yet? Husband, boyfriend, what other identity do you want?"

"Does he know?" Yi Zhiyan wrapped his arms around her waist and held her tightly. "Do your classmates know? Do your friends know?"

"Ah..." Yin Xiao belatedly realized, and put her hands on his shoulders, "So you still mind this?"

“I mind. I don’t want to keep hiding at school and just watch people ask you for WeChat.”

Yin Xiao muttered under her breath, "When did you see someone asking for your WeChat..."

"So many times." Yi Zhiyan stared at her, then sighed heavily. "Am I that shameful, wife?"

Yin Xiao smiled, glanced at the bangs sticking up on his forehead, and touched them with great seriousness, her technique as skillful as petting a cat.

"Then I'll introduce you to them another day."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Yi Zhiyan suddenly turned his head and gently kissed her lips. His arms encircled her waist, and her slightly damp hair swept across her cheeks, the scent of lime shampoo filling her nostrils.

The aroma mingled with her burning breath, the movie on the screen was still playing, and fierce shouting rang in her ears. This time, she had no extra mind to care about the argument between the male and female leads.

Yi Zhiyan's palm rubbed against the thin fabric, palm facing upwards, the hem of her clothes casually rolled up. The moment their skin touched, the noise around them was replaced by the sudden panting sound from the film.

Yin Xiao was stunned for a moment, her breathing became erratic, she hurriedly pushed him away, quickly got up, shook off the quilt and crawled into bed.

"I have an audition for the theater troupe tomorrow, so I should go to bed early."

She pulled the blanket over her face, covering half of it, and after a long while, a soft "Goodnight" was heard.

After an unknown amount of time, the surroundings darkened, the projection turned off, and a soft rustling sound came from behind, as if Yi Zhiyan had fallen to the other side. Yin Xiao closed her eyes, her heart pounding faster and faster.

She carefully pressed her hand to her chest, lay on her side hugging the pillow, and suddenly her finger poked a sharp corner of the box, causing her to open her eyes immediately.

How did she bring this over? Shouldn't it be on her bed? Did it get rolled up in the blankets?

She clenched her fingers, pushed the box further inside with her fist, pretended it didn't exist, and closed her eyes to hypnotize herself.

But his mind was unusually clear, and various images flashed through his mind frame by frame: first, the scene of the male and female protagonists kissing in the movie, then Yi Zhiyan's wet hair, and then his clenched forearm...

Yin Xiao slapped her forehead hard, covered her face, and took a deep breath.

Since we're already married, it's not unreasonable to take a look, right?

She turned around quietly and looked at Yi Zhiyan's peaceful sleeping face. His sleeping posture was as upright as everyone else's, with the blanket pulled up to his waist, lying on the pillow with only half of his face exposed, his high nose bridge attracting all her attention.

Yin Xiao moved her fingers and slowly reached towards his face.

Since we're already married, it's not too much to touch him, right?

She held her finger in the air and gently traced the contours of his face, running her hand over his nose, lips, Adam's apple, and collarbone...

Her movements were hidden by the neatly buttoned collar. She paused for a second, then decisively moved downwards, skillfully reaching for her abdomen.

In the darkness, her breathing suddenly became heavy, and the next second her flailing fingers were clamped.

A gentle breeze brushed past overhead, and Yi Zhiyan's aura drew near.

What do you want?
