Chapter 196: Putting the Camera

Old man Hu naturally wanted to live, but it was not because of the captain's words of persuasion, but because he was still young and had a heavy responsibility.

Therefore, Old Man Hu looked at the captain and made a request, saying, "She can look at it, but she can't touch my things."

"Don't worry, Dr. Yun won't touch your things. I guarantee it."

"Okay, let her in." Old Man Hu was still a little reluctant, but finally gave in.

The captain was very happy. He walked outside and called out to Yun Bei who was waiting in the yard, "Doctor Yun, can you come in?"

Yunbei heard the captain calling him, and entered the main room again with his medicine box on his back.

Old Man Hu glanced at Yunbei and opened the door of his room.

The first thing Yunbei saw when the door opened was a bed. The quilt was neatly folded. The room was just as clean as the main hall outside. But besides the bed, there was also a table with a Little Red Book on it.

The captain walked in front of Yunbei and smiled when he saw the Little Red Book on the table. He said, "Uncle Hu, when did you learn to read? How come I didn't know?"

After hearing this, Old Man Hu became a little nervous, but he quickly calmed down. He glared at the captain unhappily and said, "I can't read, but you can't let me pretend. Really, you're already such an adult, but you're not likable at all."

The captain smiled awkwardly and didn't think much of it. He thought Old Man Hu was just pretending.

But Yunbei noticed that the Little Red Book must have been frequently read. However, she said nothing, instead looking around to see where to place the pinhole camera.

After a round, she finally found a good spot, which was in the crack of the door. When the door was closed, she could see not only the bed but also the table.

Therefore, as long as Old Man Hu is in these two places, he can see clearly whatever he does.

But how could she put the things into the crack of the door without anyone noticing?

At the moment, not only was Old Man Hu staring at her, but even the team leader was watching her. Because she was looking for the source of the poison, everyone's eyes were following her.

Yunbei checked the room thoroughly, then shook his head and said, "Nothing in this room is poisonous."

Hearing Yunbei's words, Old Man Hu immediately said, "See, I told you it was unnecessary. I'm now doubting whether I was really poisoned."

Upon hearing this, the captain also looked at Yunbei with suspicion.

However, Yunbei had a frank expression on his face and said, "If you don't believe me, then forget it."

As she said this, she pretended to be unhappy and walked away with her medicine box on her back. When she reached the door, she pushed it because it was in the way.

While pushing the door open, she slipped the camera into the crack. If she hadn't checked specifically, she wouldn't have noticed it.

Because the camera was small and black, it looked like garbage at first glance. Coincidentally, the door was also black, so the chances of it being discovered were relatively small.

Yunbei walked outside and then headed towards the kitchen. Now that she was here, she had to check everything out. Otherwise, with Old Man Hu's suspicious nature, he would definitely doubt her intentions again.

When the captain saw Yunbei enter the kitchen, he slapped his thigh and said, "I forgot, I haven't checked the kitchen yet."

As he said that, he followed Yunbei into the kitchen.

There wasn't much in the kitchen. Besides the stove, there was only one cabinet with a lock on it. Looking at the lock, Yunbei turned to the team leader who had followed him in and said, "This cabinet is locked. It seems Comrade Hu doesn't want me to check it."

The captain looked at the locked cabinet and fell silent. Logically, since Old Man Hu was alone at home, the cabinet didn't need to be locked.

However, he didn't think much about it, but said to Yunbei: "This cabinet should be locked with food or something, so forget it."

"Okay, that's fine. However, I haven't found what caused Comrade Hu to be poisoned yet, so I can't rashly detoxify him."

"What should we do then?"

"I'll prescribe him some medicine to temporarily suppress the toxins in his body. However, this isn't a long-term solution. We still need to find what's poisoning him."

"Then do as you say." The captain had no good solution. Besides, Yunbei was a doctor, and she couldn't do anything about it, let alone him?

The two walked out of the kitchen and saw Old Man Hu standing outside. The captain said directly, "Uncle Hu, Doctor Yun couldn't find the cause of your poisoning. He can only temporarily prescribe you some medicine to suppress the toxins in your body."

After hearing this, Old Man Hu was a little unhappy. He looked at Yunbei with a mocking expression and said, "Everyone says that your medical skills are very good, but I think they are just so-so."

"Yes, my medical skills are just that. But at least I can see that you are poisoned, at least I am better than others." Yun Bei couldn't help but reply, then took out paper and pen and quickly wrote a list.

After writing it, she handed it directly to the captain and said, "First, take three doses. It should be able to relieve his pain. But this medicine only has a relieving effect and cannot drive out the poison."

"Okay, I understand."

The captain took the order and asked Old Man Hu, "Uncle Hu, do you want to get the medicine yourself, or should I have someone get it for you?"

"I'll go by myself." Old man Hu took the bill. He still didn't quite trust Yunbei.

He had to take the prescription to another doctor to see if it was for detoxification.

"Okay, then you must go."

"I know, I know. You're so nagging." Old man Hu looked impatient, but the captain was not angry. He waved at him and left with Yunbei.

On the way back to the infirmary, Yunbei asked the captain, "Is Comrade Hu's temper so bad all of a sudden?"

"How could that be? He used to have a very good temper. Later, I don't know why, but it got worse and worse. Maybe it's because his relatives died one after another."

The two walked and chatted all the way, and soon returned to the infirmary. Fu Guang saw Yun Bei coming back and shouted happily: "Sister, you are back."

"Well, I'm back. Are you guys tired from playing? Do you want to take a break and have something to eat?"

"Sister, did you bring food?" Fu Guang was surprised and happy, looking at Yun Bei with sparkling eyes. The other children couldn't help licking their tongues when they heard Yun Bei's words.

"Yes." Yunbei smiled and beckoned the children to follow her into the house. Then she took a cloth bag hanging nearby, which contained some snacks: biscuits, candies, and dried fruits.

She grabbed a handful and placed it on the table where Fu Guang had been reading. She said to the children, "Go and eat it. Don't fight over it. Otherwise, there won't be any left next time."
