Chapter 33: Falling into a Trap

The more he thought about it, the more worried Si Nanzhao became. Especially when he thought about the harsh words the criminal had said last night, he was worried that he had accomplices.

Therefore, he could no longer sit still and went directly to his superiors to ask for leave, intending to go to Liangcheng to look for someone overnight.

Fortunately, the troops are not far from Liangcheng, only a few dozen minutes' drive away.

After Si Nanzhao asked for leave, he borrowed a car and hurried to Liangcheng. When he arrived in Liangcheng, he went straight to the guesthouse.

Unexpectedly, the waiter told her that Yunbei had checked out in the morning.

"What did you say? She checked out in the morning?" Si Nanzhao was even more worried now. He never expected that Yun Bei would check out so early.

But since she checked out, shouldn't she go find him? Why didn't she go to the army to find him until he was released from the army?

She is unfamiliar with this place, so where else can she go?

Could it be that something really happened?

Thinking of this, Si Nanzhao thanked the waiter at the guesthouse and then went to the Public Security Bureau.

The man he had captured last night was still being held there. He planned to ask him if his men had done anything to Yunbei.

The criminal's eyes blazed with fire when he saw Si Nanzhao. He hadn't forgotten that it was he who had caught him yesterday, thus bringing his wonderful life to an end.

If he could, he would have wanted to kill Si Nanzhao. Therefore, when he heard him ask if he had any accomplices and if he had attacked yesterday's hostages, he immediately smiled and replied, "I won't tell you, guess it yourself."

The criminal saw how much Si Nanzhao valued Yunbei and deliberately stabbed him in the heart. Since he couldn't take revenge or kill the other party, making him feel bad was a small way to vent his anger.

Furthermore, the hostage had put in a lot of effort to get him caught yesterday. If the hostage hadn't first given him an injection and then severed his hand, he might not have been caught.

Therefore, he hated both Si Nanzhao and the hostage.

Now, from what the man said, there was a problem with the hostages. He was very happy and felt that God was helping him.

In order to stab the knife deeper, the criminal said a few more words without fear of death.

"That woman is really pretty. My brother is lucky."

"That woman isn't yours, is she? But you're too late. My brother has probably already taken her and slept with her."

When Si Nanzhao heard this, he clenched his fists and was about to hit the other person.

The criminal was terrified when he saw this. He hid and shouted loudly: "Comrade, don't be angry. I really don't know where my brother is. It's useless even if you force me. Of course, you can also beat me to death, but I don't know."

"Captain Si, calm down." The comrades from the Public Security Bureau, also worried about something happening, immediately stepped forward to persuade Si Nanzhao, saying, "Don't listen to this guy's nonsense. We've been interrogating him for so long, and he hasn't told a single truth."

"That's right, Captain Si, don't be impulsive. If you want to find someone, we brothers will go with you later."

Si Nanzhao slowly calmed down after being persuaded by the public security comrades. Only then did he realize that he had almost been tricked by the other party.

If he injured someone, not only would he be punished, but he would also have to be sent to the hospital. The defenses at the hospital weren't as strong as at the Public Security Bureau. At that point, it would be much easier for his accomplices to rescue the victim.

Maybe the other party had this idea in mind and deliberately provoked him.

However, he was also really worried about Yunbei. He was worried that something might happen to her, a girl, in an unfamiliar place.

No matter what, she came here for him. If anything went wrong, he would be held responsible. Not only would the old man not forgive him, but he himself would also feel guilty for the rest of his life.

"Just wait, if it's really as you said, I won't forgive you." Si Nanzhao warned the criminal coldly and left the detention room.

Afterwards, he told his colleagues in the public security department the information about the person he was looking for and asked them to send a few people to help him search.

Yunbei didn't know that Sinanzhao was looking for her, but she was indeed in trouble at the moment.

Because they lived in a single dormitory, it was inconvenient to open a fire. And the hospital did not provide dinner, so Yunbei had to go out to eat.

However, when she came back from eating at the state-owned restaurant, she encountered a few thugs who robbed her money. Yun Bei naturally would not let such a situation happen, and went straight to help.

But she didn't expect that her help would also cause trouble, because the person who was robbed was none other than Peng Yuhua's mother-in-law, Liu Pozi.

And Mrs. Liu did it on purpose, in order to plot against Yunbei.

This morning, Zhou Qin found her and said that she couldn't stand Yun Bei and wanted to teach her a lesson.

Originally, Zhou Qin wanted to report Yun Bei as a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, but when she heard that she was also very good at surgery, she knew that this approach wouldn't work, so she decided to find some thugs to teach Yun Bei a lesson.

He was afraid that Yunbei would not be fooled, so he staged a money-robbing drama.

Sure enough, Yunbei was overwhelmed with a sense of justice. When he heard someone was robbing, he rushed up without thinking, beat the person up, and returned the money they had stolen to the victim.

When returning the money, Yunbei discovered that the person who was robbed was actually Liu Pozi, and he immediately had a bad feeling in his heart.

Sure enough, not only did Mrs. Liu refuse to accept the money, she also shouted loudly that Yunbei had robbed her money.

As soon as she finished shouting, two comrades in police uniform came out and said that Yunbei was suspected of robbery and wanted to take Yunbei away.

What else does Yunbei not understand?

She had fallen into a trap. However, she had no intention of following the two so-called "policemen" away. It was because they had arrived just in time, and it looked as if they had been waiting here for a long time.

Secondly, she found that these two people did not have a trace of righteousness, and they did not look like police officers at all. After all, some people are not emperors even if they wear dragon robes.

Yunbei felt that the two people in front of her didn't look like police officers, but more like gangsters. Therefore, she naturally wouldn't follow them away.

Seeing that Yunbei did not follow them, the two so-called "police" comrades suddenly became anxious and tried to arrest Yunbei.

They had promised Zhou Qin that they would take Yun Bei to a deserted place and teach her a lesson, so that she would know who not to mess with and whose territory this was and who she should obey.

Seeing their actions, Yunbei became more and more certain of her judgment. So, when the other party was about to catch her, she took the initiative to attack.

Yunbei showed no mercy when he attacked, and directly crippled the two men's hands.

The two men screamed in pain from the severed hands.

When Mrs. Liu saw this scene, she was completely shocked. She had long experienced Yunbei's cruelty, but she had never thought that Yunbei would even beat up the "police".

So, she backed away, silently shouting, "You, don't come over here!"
