Chapter 394 A Nightmare

What happened on the day of the abduction was undoubtedly a nightmare for Chen Chunhua. If possible, she would never want to recall it again.

But since her brother asked, she naturally would not hide it and told him the whole story in detail.

By the time Chen Cheng finished listening, he was certain that this matter was related to his uncle and aunt. Therefore, he was very angry, but he was afraid of scaring his sister, so he could only suppress his anger.

But even so, Chen Chunhua still noticed that he was different and asked worriedly, "Brother, are you okay?"

After a pause, she thought of something and said, "Brother, this matter has passed. If you hadn't asked, I would have almost forgotten it."

"Just forget it!" Chen Cheng reached out and touched his sister's head, saying to her, "There are many days ahead, and everything will be fine."

"Yeah!" Chen Chunhua nodded with a smile. She believed this.

Chen Cheng stayed in the guesthouse until the lights were almost turned off before leaving.

When he returned to the army, Mao Dazhu and Zhao Jun surrounded him again and said, "Chen Cheng, when will you take us to see your sister?"

"That's right, it's impossible for our sister to come and we don't even know what she looks like, right?"

"Okay, okay, I'll take you there some other day."

"That's better." The two men achieved their goal and let Chen Cheng go, letting him wash up.

Back at the family compound, Si Nanzhao said to Yunbei after returning home, "Wife, the day after tomorrow is Sunday and the troops will be on holiday. How about we have a dinner party tomorrow night?"

"Sure. How many people are you planning to invite?"

"Several leaders, plus three or four battalion commanders in my regiment and their families, probably twelve or thirteen people."

"Okay, I got it. Prepare two tables then."

"Sure. But it will be hard for my wife. If you are too busy, I will ask the wives of the battalion commanders to come and help you."

"No need. I'll just ask Chen Chunhua and Wang Meihua to come and help me."

"That's okay too."

Si Nanzhao had no objection to Yunbei's arrangement. After deciding on the time and number of guests, they also had to discuss how many dishes to prepare and what to serve.

By the time they had finished the discussion, it was already late, so Si Nanzhao pulled Yunbei to sleep.

Seeing his restless hand, Yunbei slapped it away and said, "Stop it. I have a dinner party tomorrow and I'm busy. Don't bother calling me. Otherwise, I'll let you cook for yourself."

After hearing this, Si Nanzhao had no choice but to retract his hand and then hugged his wife to sleep obediently.

The next morning, Yunbei went to see Wang Meihua. Firstly, he wanted to go to the market with her to buy vegetables, and secondly, he wanted to ask her if she was free to help him in the evening.

Wang Meihua was in Yunbei for the first time, so she didn't come empty-handed and brought some candies and biscuits for the children.

When Yunbei arrived, Wang Meihua had just gotten up and was washing up.

Hearing the knock on the door, she brushed her teeth in a few seconds and ran to open the door. Seeing Yunbei, Wang Meihua asked happily, "Sister-in-law, why are you here?"

"Let me ask you, are you going to the market to buy vegetables?"

"Go, go, wait for me, I'll talk to the children." With that, Wang Meihua was about to go back to her room.

Yunbei grabbed her, handed her the candy he had brought, and said, "These are for the children."

"No, no, I can't have it."

Wang Meihua refused, unwilling to accept it. In the end, Yunbei stuffed it directly into her pocket, and she finally accepted it.

Wang Meihua greeted the children and then went to the market with Yunbei. On the way, Yunbei mentioned the idea of treating everyone to a meal and asked Wang Meihua if she had time to help.

After hearing her words, Wang Meihua laughed and said, "Sister-in-law, my husband told me last night to get off work early to help you."

"Then you'll have to take a leave."

"It's okay, just an hour or so, it's no big deal." Wang Meihua waved her hand. The leaders in their unit were easy to talk to. Even if they took an occasional leave, their salary wouldn't be deducted.

After all, who doesn’t have urgent matters?

Wang Meihua had said so, so Yunbei didn't know what to say. However, she kept this favor in her heart and would repay it when she had the chance.

Yunbei arrived at the market and first picked up the two fish he had ordered yesterday.

Fortunately, she ordered two fish, otherwise it would be difficult to divide them between two tables.

The two fish are quite big, so you can either roast them whole or make them into fillets.

After taking the fish, Yunbei saw that there was a big fish weighing five or six kilograms in the boss's bucket. He was instantly attracted and asked the other party how to sell it.

When Wang Meihua heard this, she smiled and asked, "Sister-in-law, you bought so many fish, how are you going to eat them?"

"This one is braised, and this one can be boiled." Yunbei pointed at the big fish and asked the boss to weigh it for her.

The villagers who were selling the fish originally thought that the fish was too big and they probably couldn’t sell it, so they might have to take it home and eat it themselves.

When he heard Yunbei wanted it, he became happy. He weighed it and it was five pounds and three ounces. Finally, he rounded off the weight and made it five pounds.

After buying the fish, Yunbei also bought some vegetables. There was no meat here, so he had to go to the supply and marketing cooperative. Yunbei planned to go after he took the vegetables home.

By the time Yunbei brought the food home, it was already past seven o'clock and Si Nanzhao had already gone to work.

Yunbei returned home, ate the warm breakfast in the pot, and then rode his bike to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy a piece of meat.

Because of this busy schedule, Yunbei had no time to go to work, so he asked Dean Su for another day off.

Dean Su readily approved Yunbei's request for leave.

It was only later that he found out that the director of the Municipal People's Hospital was a big spy. Therefore, he still felt very guilty about letting Yunbei go to the Municipal Hospital and almost causing an accident.

Of course, he was also afraid that Yunbei would come after him, so he was more than happy for her to ask for leave.

Yunbei had no idea what Dean Su was thinking. After getting her leave, she went home to get busy. However, before leaving, she went to the guesthouse and called Chen Chunhua over.

Otherwise, it would be boring for her to stay in the guesthouse alone.

Chen Chunhua was delighted to learn that Yunbei had asked her to help with cooking. She was worried about how to repay Yunbei for helping her find her brother.

When they got home, Yunbei and Chen Chunhua first processed the pheasant and rabbit, stewing or roasting them, otherwise it would be too late if they did it all at once in the evening.

As for the meat, Yunbei planned to braise it, so he had to prepare it first. It seemed that even his own pot was not enough.

In the end, I had to leave it alone and wash the vegetables first.

The busy time passed quickly and it was lunch time in the blink of an eye.

Because all the pots were occupied and there was no way to cook, Yunbei had to take Chen Chunhua to the cafeteria to eat.

When they arrived at the cafeteria, they saw Chen Cheng preparing to serve food to his sister. Yun Bei immediately took Chen Chunhua over.

Seeing her sister, Chen Chunhua was overjoyed and asked, "Chunhua, why are you here? I wanted to bring you some food later."

"Brother, I came here with my sister-in-law."
