Chapter 111 Bar Dinner
"Seriously, sis? You're still in the mood for a party?"
"What else can you do? Stay home and cry your eyes out?"
"Even if you don't shed tears, you should at least keep a low profile and let this go unnoticed, right?"
The assistant was completely overwhelmed.
Tang Zi is actually quite individualistic, but she has always kept it relatively suppressed.
Since returning from Myanmar, she has somehow completely unleashed her true nature, making her act and behave more and more freely!
"I'm not the one in the wrong, and having a relationship isn't a crime punishable by death! Besides, I'm the victim who's been slandered and smeared. Why should I have to hide away while the person who harmed me behind the scenes can walk freely in the sunlight?"
"..."
The assistant was speechless and was actually persuaded by her.
"Well said! Sister Tang Zi has guts!" Lin was thrilled upon hearing this.
"This is a principle that Wen Ni taught me: when faced with injustice, we must always bravely resist!"
Wen Ni didn't say anything, but nodded with considerable appreciation.
"Let's go! We're definitely going to have a blast tonight!"
"good!"
The group walked out of the lounge chatting and laughing, causing passing staff to turn around frequently.
Wasn't Tang Zi supposed to be all over the news tonight, and was just surrounded by reporters? Judging from their current state, it doesn't seem like it...
I don't understand, I really don't understand!
Putting aside these annoying trifles, Gotham City under the night sky is truly dazzling and bustling with activity!
The place Tang Zi had booked for the gathering was even more lively; it was a bar and club that was quite upscale inside and out.
Not only Tang Zi is a regular customer here,
Even many celebrities in the industry choose this place to hold their private parties!
One of the reasons is the high level of privacy here.
I've heard that even if those overly trusting reporters and paparazzi manage to sneak in, they'll be identified and kicked out by the bar's backstage staff in the shortest amount of time, which to some extent gives celebrities some rare private space to relax!
"How was that? Was it fun enough?!"
Upon entering the reserved VIP room on the first floor, Tang Zi casually pushed open the glass door on the other side of the dance floor.
The glass door is for soundproofing.
The moment it was fully turned on, the intense and deafening drumbeats surged in like a tidal wave!
Wen Ni walked over with great interest and leaned against the railing with Tang Zi, watching the men and women dancing wildly in the dance floor.
"Wow, this is my first time in a bar!" Lin Yi exclaimed excitedly.
"I didn't expect someone as rich as you to be such a homebody! You've never even been to a bar?" Tang Zi teased with a smile.
"Compared to other scions of wealthy families, I don't really frequent entertainment venues. The place I go to most often is the internet cafe."
Lin scratched his head sheepishly.
"Actually, before I met Wen Shen and you guys, I didn't have many friends because they couldn't understand my passion for programming!"
"I don't have many friends either."
Tang Zi continued, bending down to pick up a glass of wine and hand it to Wen Ni, then thoughtfully added, "As you all know, in this industry, there aren't many people who are genuinely good to you; it's good enough if they don't kick you when you're down..."
"So, if I leave the army, I won't have a single friend left," Song Yanfeng shrugged and joined their conversation.
"And you, sister?" Tang Zi suddenly turned to look at Wen Ni.
Wen Ni, who had been quietly listening to them pour out their hearts, raised her lips and gestured with her wine glass. "Geniuses are always lonely... It's rare to meet so many like-minded people. I'll drink to that!"
"So, in Wen Shen's eyes, I'm a genius too!?" Lin Yi's eyes lit up, as if he had received some incredible recognition. In his excitement, he didn't forget to grab a can of liquor and gulp it down. "I'll drink this too!"
"Yes, a genius."
Tang Zi nodded in agreement, "Only geniuses are envied. That bastard Shao Gang is just jealous of my talent!"
"I second that!" Lin Yi readily agreed.
Wen Ni smiled again and took a sip of wine.
It was a rare treat to have a good chat with them at this moment, which made her feel incredibly relaxed, both physically and mentally!
"Clang clang clang—"
Outside the door, the waiter knocked twice and came in.
He was carrying the food Tang Zi had just ordered. After putting it down, he was about to open the door and leave when he saw two hot, curly-haired beauties in miniskirts blocking the doorway, peeking into the private room on tiptoe!
Are you two ladies looking for someone?
"We know someone in the private room!" The woman waved impatiently at the waiter, then pushed open the door and walked in. "Sister Tang Zi! It really is you!"
"Lin Wan, Lin Yu? You're having a meal here too?" Tang Zi called out their names.
"We decided to come here on short notice!" Lin Yu smiled, took a step back, revealing three handsome men standing behind her. "And we came with the brothers from the TIFF band!"
“TIFF… Ah~ Today’s guitar!” Tang Zi suddenly remembered and pointed to Xu Zhen.
From the moment he started looking away from Tang Zi, Xu Zhen's gaze was fixed on Wen Ni!
"Hey! Hello there, cool girl whose name I don't know? It's only been a few hours, and we've met again?"
"What a coincidence." Wen Ni nodded politely.
"It means we're destined to meet!" Xu Zhen's eyes were bright. "We arrived a bit late and couldn't get a private room. If you don't mind, could we share a table with you?"
"Sharing a table!?"
Lin Yu, who was traveling with him, felt somewhat uncomfortable.
She noticed from the very beginning that Xu Zhen's attitude towards the girl next to Tang Zi was unusual; at least he had never been so proactive towards her before!
"Hmm... if your companion doesn't mind, of course." Tang Zi couldn't refuse. "Your guitar helped me a lot. I was planning to have dinner with you sometime, but I'll treat you to dinner today!"
"No, let's keep things separate. If we're talking about sharing a table, then we're talking about sharing a table. If you really want to treat me to dinner, I'll take you to a really good restaurant next time." Xu Zhen said, then turned his gaze to Wen Ni, "We'll invite her along then."
Goodness, they've even planned their next meeting?
Wen Ni looked away; she wasn't interested in this invitation.
"Uh, then don't stand there, come in and sit down!"
Tang Zi gave an awkward laugh and started calling out.
The other two TIFF members knew what Xu Zhen was thinking, and they tacitly chose to sit on the side, deliberately leaving the seat closest to Wen Ni empty!
But before Xu Zhen could sit down,
Lin Yu swayed her slender waist and took up the empty seat...
"Sister Tang Zi, you haven't introduced your friends to us yet." Lin Yu's question was very targeted; she addressed Tang Zi, but her eyes were fixed on Wen Ni.
"How did Zhen meet this beautiful woman? What's her name? Is she in the industry too? I've never seen her or heard of her before?"
"Ah~ these friends of mine are all outside the entertainment industry. As for how they met..." Tang Zi said, but only halfway through her sentence.
Xu Zhen then picked up the conversation, saying, "The one who lent me her guitar to save the day was her."
"ah?"
Lin Yu's expression froze for a moment, but he still managed a forced smile. "Oh, I see. What do you do for a living, beautiful lady? You play the guitar quite well, just not as well as Brother Zhen!"
No wonder Xu Zhen treated her differently.
"A student," Wen Ni replied casually.
So she's still a student?
Xu Zhen listened quietly, absentmindedly taking a sip of his drink.
Lin Yuxin felt a slight sense of disdain.
What the heck!
She worried for so long, only to find out she was just a naive student new to the workforce.
